Copperheads/Copperlocks: show time!

Mighty fine showing of Snakeheads fellers.
I've accumulated a few during my journey thru the cutlery world.
One of those patterns it seems that you always need one more.
Maybe it's just me. Doubtful, but maybe. ;)

This Case Lg. Copperlock has been my go to hunting knife for the last 10 years. Notice the flat clip point-I almost always grind the upswept clip to a straight profile on my Case users.

I like that better than the stock version. I may try to turn up enough courage to do that to one of mine. I might need a larger belt sander to do it though (mine's a 1x30").

I believe I did that particular Copperlock with a cheap extra-course stone. It took quite a bit of time. These days, I use a belt sander with a 60 or 80 grit belt. I just keep a bucket of water close and dip after every pass.

This is a 3 3/8" Steel Warrior Copperlock. A gift from my good friend Roland.

A real conversation piece and interesting implementation. The master clip blade locks in the open position, and is unlocked by depressing the wharncliffe towards the springs. In the hand it reminds me of the Case Sway Back. A lot of knife for the small length. Not particularly choice stag, but nice and thick, giving me a very good grip.

I have to say, unless you know how the lock works, it would stump almost anyone trying to figure out how to close it. :o
It is incredibly sharp too. Not sure if it came that way, or if Doctor Procter put this keen edge on both blades. I really enjoy carrying this pattern. My first copperhead. Excellent jack knife.

What is the pattern number and any other specs of this knife...anyone?

Wow; what traditional eye candy you guys have. Here is my only one such as it is.

All the fancy knives here and I get caught looking at a rough rider. That really looks nice. I have been looking on Ebay and can't seem to find it. Do you have a source or stock number on this one? Thanks a lot!

I've always liked the mini-copperlock pattern and ordered an amber bone off a internet hardware store about two weeks ago. I was very excited when I got a package on my door today only to open it and find they sent me a lamp harp by mistake. Better luck next time

WELCOME to Bladeforums/Traditionals. I think you'll like it here and you will like that mini-copperhead when you get it.
