Seriously how do you like the edge retention of the Elmax and have you sharpened yet ?

I have found that as long as the original edge geometry was done correctly (and in the Fires it has been) that it is excellent.
 
I haven't had to sharpen it yet, only a light strop on green compound. Anyone that knows me will attest to the fact that I use my knives every chance I get. Considering it has not left my pocket since I got, I would say the edge retention is phenomenal.

Just got of the phone with Matt D. My fire is in the mail. Can't wait!

that elmax is crazy wear resistant. Tough to sharpen right, but man does it have integrity.
 
Mine should be in the mail as well. Can't wait to get this one!!

This will be my first experience w Elmax steel.

That takes care of both of us Eric's... :) Hopefully it wasn't too confusing for Joe & Matt. :)

I'm late to this party, but WOW that's a nice design package. Gorgeous lines and materials, and a poster child for the form-follows-function tenet. Did you have input on this design, Joe? Nice. :thumbup:

I'm clearly late to the party on this awesome piece.

Can you get this as a non auto for people in non-auto friendly states?

I'm sure Joe will be along shortly to answer your question Scurvy, but an officer wouldn't know it's an auto while holding it.

I can not recommend that you break the law and I do not know your states laws but I've carried mine thru a hell of a lot of states and I never worry :)

All kidding aside DISKIN USA is coming out with a new flipper that will blow everyone away

Blades are done and the handles come next

Ill be keeping everyone posted and doing a release video etc.

Mine is scheduled for delivery today... :)

I can't wait to see what you guys come up with for a flipper. I'm a real fan of flippers... Guess that means I'll have to start selling some stuff or working a few extra odd jobs to up my 'blow money' so I can get on the list for the flipper.
