French regional knives...

I just saw a knife on a French website and wanted to ask if anybody has experience with this. It’s called ‚Le Francais Vintage’ by Perceval. I don’t want to post the link because they are selling the knives themselves.

Hopefully any of you can provide some information.

Enjoy your weekend

I have a couple of the 'le Francais' knives by Perceval and a two other models as well. I wouldn't really call them traditional (pillar construction with liner locks) so I won't post pics of them here.

Perceval has outstanding fit and finish. All of mine are nearly flawless, worth the premium price IMHO.

Back from the mender's and now superb ❣️

who is the maker of this? the guilloche with leaves is wonderful

I'll let you know once I get it in hand.
Pretty sure I've seen that one online and when I saw your pictures, I went back and checked and the one I saw is gone but could be coincidence.
... and if it's the one I think it is, the handle material is said to be Ivory.
The reason I think I've seen that one is the mark side pin at the end looks familiar with the small line/discoloration(?)
A NICE one !!! ... I gave a thought to when I saw it just this weekend.

This laguiole is smaller than I prefer, but the vintage styling called out to me.
The name is "jambette", because the top (bottom for us) bolster looks like a little boot. They were often "women" knives, because of the smaller size. 😊

For those having some interest in French knives (and time), an interesting study (in English) :
French folding knife, a.k.a., “clasp knife” imported into the North American Fur Trade

edit : correct article webpage address instead of sales page
