GEC Radio Knife

Ahh anticipation is killer. I hope the dealers recieve the ebonies soon!

Jerry, I have it from the most reliable source (Christine at GEC), that the radio knives in ebony will be shipping to dealers this week, so they and perhaps some of the bone models will be on distributor shelves very soon, hopefully by Friday but possibly early next week! I do not pre-sell but will post them as soon as I receive them. These are going to be a fine little pattern and I'm havin' one in Antique Yellow Jig Bone!

Great looking knife. I can see the bottle opener/jack rolling out under a few other permutations... I'd certainly be tempted by one on the #78 American Jack with clip when it arrives:)

Wow! The red is almost making wish Iwould have ordered that instead of the yellow. Looks great!

I think with the advent of the Diamond Jack and now this jigging pattern, GEC have finally realized that an important aspect to bone is having jigging on the sides of the slab and not just the top...hard to explain but it makes a big aesthetic difference in my eyes and makes for a much closer comparison to the older styles (which is, by definition, great.)

Yes, that jigging has gone over the edge!!! (cymbal clash/bass drum)!!

It has raised the game to a new level - that and Rat-tail Bolsters!!

I needed a socially acceptable knife for my work (in a pharmacy, I know I probably should have gotten a Doctor's Knife since it has the pill counting spatula and all :p) so I decided to take the plunge on a #15 Radio Knife in nifebrite as my first foray into traditionals. I'm starting to find less and less tactical knives that draw my interest, and my attraction to the elegance of traditionals is only increasing. I still dislike multi-bladed knives aesthetically, but the extra bottle opener combined with the #15 pattern was perfect for me. The single clip point blade on the #15 was a big draw for me personally, and I find myself drinking more and more beer now so the bottle opener is a great touch. Plus it can adjust the pivots on my Emerson's when I carry them in conjunction

Mine should be in on Wednesday, I'll post my thoughts when it arrives! Still a bit bummed the Ebony handled ones disappeared so quickly, but I doubt this will be my last slipjoint!

I'm hoping to see this new bottle opener/screw driver combo on a new run of GEC 85 Easy Opens!

I definitely plan on making the Radio Knife in ebony my first Boy's Knife.

I have an antique yellow, or whatever it's called on the way. I'm thinking hte caplifter has some modding potential. You could file the curve of the caplifter into a wire-stripper, just like the older SAK soldier knives, or change the screwdriver tip into a half chisel, like the vic multitool spirit chisel.
