I've read this thread since it started, my only question is when is either the Administrator or one of the Moderators going to "put a muzzle" on this Goncz character.

If anyone doesn't seem to agree with his high opinion of his product, he doesn't seem to be able to write any response, without either insulting someone or in some cases everyone. I don't judge a "professional" by the cars he drives, nor the watch he wears. Nor do I find it nessary to call people names or insult them if their opinion doesn't match my own.

I paid for a "Gold Membership" to this forum so I could abide by the rules of buying and selling. I still haven't heard an answer why this doesn't apply to Mr. Goncz advertising his products.

I don't own any of Mr. Goncz's products, and don't anticipate buying any. So, Mr. Goncz if you feel you need to take your best shots at me go ahead. However, I have always felt that any "name calling" or "insults" should be done in person, and "face-to-face," this somehow always makes it much more interesting.

I agree one hundred percent!

I guess I don't understand either, he attacks people, but is not banned, he continues to advertise, but as a basic member.

So once he gets all the past issues ironed out, will he be banned, or forced to pay for his advertising then?

The quick answer is that he's a manufacturer, not a dealer. Spyderco is selling "BladeForums.com Forum" knives and we're not seeing a dime of those proceeds either. Busse is selling all sorts of variants. ATC has their customs. ETC, Etc, etc. If he was just a dealer, it'd be one thing - but he's not.

Furthermore, I believe that he deserves the chance to get honest feedback on his product line and the chance to make right any problems he has with customer service / product line.

Think of it this way - he's getting a rope. He can either pull himself to safety or fashion a noose with it. Nobody's forcing you to buy his stuff; but a dogpile of flaming does no one any good. So why not be part of the solution?

I've followed this on Candlepower since the beginning and now here.
I think this is all for the good. folk are getting their backlogged lights and now, maybe, we'll see some real product.
Plus this is EXTREMELY entertaining :)

I talked to John on the phone last week. He really seems to be a nice guy. He may just have a problem expressing himself online. I know that if I had the talent to design all the things he has and then I received criticism on my products from people that didn't even handle them; I may be less than civil myself. I look forward to checking out one of his lights and think if they are as good as they are supposed to be, they will set a new standard in the flashlight industry. Some people just have a harder time biting their tongue than others. I guess Honesty is a virtue but can also be viewed as a curse. I do think John could have reacted better to some potential customers, but Customer service doesn't mean taking it in the rear from anyone with a voice either. ;)

I don't think posting that someone should stick to topics they know something about, like homosexuality and telling someone else to screw their mother has anything to do with honesty, do you?

 That part would fall under the "Hard time expressing themselves online and the could have reacted better" part :D

I have no problems with his products at all, haven't seen them nor commented on them. What I don't like is the way he verbally assaults everyone who doesn't share his opinions. I find his conduct here very inappropriate and I don't think you can put all that down to "having a hard time expressing himself". I have no problem following his condescending tone and rude remarks, I think they stand out quite clearly...
This does not reflect on the quality of his products, but that's not all there is to a product. I think he's done a very poor job of representing his company and products here and that will also be a factor when deciding on future purchases.

hi
i don't know about the rest of you guys
but someone who insults another person's mother, through email or not, will never see a single cent of my money

my 2 cents

HEREis my initial review of the Goncz M-3.

I just received this today. Very nice light!

More to follow as I get a chance to use the light.

To All: Kevin and the Blade Forum Members,

As of today We did filled the outstanding (backorders exept for 3 inch reflector and the adaptor as the newest model are machined), giving the packeges to Ted Bear to ship it out as He was appointed for that task and he accepted without any compansation. We are thankfull to Him.

So no more beef...

Thanks for all the visitors of the Tread on this Forun, that is getting to 5,000 hits. (no idea: high, medium, low?)

We are also thanking the Posters (Good, Bad and The Ugly ones)that expressed their oppinon on this Forum.

Kevin to You thanks for Your impartiality!

Cordially,

John

I recieved a M3 yesterday via UPS. I haven't had much time to test it yet, but so far I am really impressed with the quality. I will post a full review in a week or so when I have a chance to really try her out. ;)

Hi, I am the "person" that offered John to build him a web page. ;)

The reason it took so long was that John could not provide any info other than the flyer. I asked him a couple of times to send me some pics, but that never happened...

Anyway, he was happy with the things I did and promised me a rechargeable light, but I had to have some patience because of charger problems. This was in Januari... I sent him a few e-mails afterwards, but never got a reply.

Today I got a M-3 in the mail, a 3x123 light... :(

Oh well...

BART,

I did sent You the brochures, pictures and the CD with the photos on that you could open it in Photoshop.

Sometime in one of the mail you indicated that will take time to build
the site. So we informed You that we need it and we could not wait longer and we had the Page built. As you can see we did not used any of your material in any shape or form.

Yes, we promissed to a light if the the project is completed. As a goodwill we sent You M-3 light and as we can see you are not pleased with a gift of $65.00 value plus shipping cost. In my opinion we are more than "fair" spend for something never received or used. Usually projects get paid upon completion and satisfaction.

As to disapointment to keep you happy if you will state "Thanks for the Light"... we will give you a deal on the M-5.

You forgot to state your opinion about the M-3 light and if you will that I promise, I will even send You a Tulip.

Thanks and cordially,

John

Err, the cd's you sent me only had empty folders on it, less than 3MB each per cd... I did tell you that and provided an account to upload the pics, wich you weren't able to...

I never said it would take some time, I said I could not finish without proper pics.
I always responded promptly, and had to find out myself you had another site built, after wich you asked me for help promoting and finalizing it.

A slight difference...

The M-3 looks well build and I'm sure it is very sturdy, however running costs will be too high for me. :(

I do not want to bash you, but fact is you promised something else...

BART,

Down the Road We will get you a light and in private mail I will get more in details,

Thanks,
John
