GRAYMAN SATU Folder!! A BEAST!!!

Richard J is just ok. JK! He rocks!!! He will be getting a package from me soon! Nice to see some intelligent, friendly, informative discussion on here. We got invaded by a virus there for a minute.

Striderco. I bet you that the folding knife statement isn't the same as the fixed blades statement. I even proof to back up my claim. Do you?

knife22 - the warranty is quite clear. You get an inspection period, some sharpening for postage or maybe a small fee and that's about it. I forgot the tip inspection - maybe thay can re-grind it maybe not and you have to re-blade it.

You're a newcomer so let me say politely, that you have 8 posts and all in this thread about the Satu if I'm not mistaken and a lot of them are antagonistic. "You got proof - I got proof - You're an idiot and so forth." You're not endearing yourself to the BF community at this point or contributing anything. You informed everyone about what the warranty was, so why not be on your way before a Moderator closes this thread for good?

You said you owned this knife and like it if I recall, now per the unwritten rule. I'd appreciate some pics or it never happened!!!

Thanks, Richard! I'll definitely be in touch if Grayman can't make a non-recurve version for me and I end up getting the recurved one.
Either way I seriously doubt that you will regret it. The recurve is pretty subtle. Looking forward to your review once you get it.

Agreed -- glad to see that the troll didn't end up depriving us of your presence in this thread. :)

cziv, I'm pretty busy until the middle of next week but, after that, will definitely give Grayman a call then to inquire about the possibility of a non-recurve Satu. I wouldn't be surprised if they aren't able to make a special one just for a single customer, but maybe if we got enough people (a dozen or so?) who showed an interest they would consider doing a special run with the non-recurve blade. In any event, once I give them a call I'll relay what they say in this thread.

If they honor that request, could you please let me know? I'd be interested in one also. I'm sure they'd be more willing to do it with a larger batch. Could be wrong though.

Will do. As I mentioned before, I'll pass along whatever they say in this thread. If they say they'd consider it with a larger batch, I'll also start a separate thread to see if we can get enough commitments for it to be worthwhile/feasible for Grayman.

Warning! If your looking to buy this knife " remember" its not warranted after the 30 day return policy is up. By the way I sent mine back for that reason.

I agree with Cziv. Dont think knifenut22 ever even owned a Grayman! He probably has a small Gerber collection going. Enough about that. I want to give a shout out to the servicemen who have been emailing me all along about this post and Grayman Knives! Guys we ve got some operators out there serving our country that have asked to remain anonymous but I kind of have my own subforum by email with a few servicemen who swear by Grayman! There are Duas, Satus and a mix of fixed blades cutting things as we speak thousands of miles away in warzones. Here is a quote taken from one of those emails, "I trust my life to Grayman knives and think that the Satu will serve me better than my current Emerson!" Hey if one of my anonymous soldiers or marines wants to email what theyve done with their Graymans over there and how tough they really are that would be great! I will post it on here anonymously of course! Guys sorry to say but good luck getting the Graymans to make a blade change right now. They are working their butts off as we speak just to fill orders for their current models! Stay safe guys overseas!!

Let's put an end to this here and now. I am serious. Your single-interest, repeated comment is clearly an attack on Grayman knives. If you wish to continue your vendetta, take it to FEEDBACK. Do NOT post in this thread again.

First I'm not bashing Grayman's product,I'm bringing out their poor warranty policy on one of their products. I don't know why your jumping down my throat while you should be asking Grayman why consumers have to shove out $400. for the Satu and why it doesn't come with a warranty. And I don't care if you throw me off this forum because some of sound like whining control freak premadonnas,"Oh you shouldn't say it that way or"Stop posting that we heard enough of that". Well you know something I brought out something to this forum that none of you know-it-alls knew about and all tried to do is sweep it under the rug. Well SHAME ON YOU! By the way Striderco your an IDIOT!!!!!!

One more time. This is the General Knife Discussion forum. Talk about the knives.

Do not talk about other members -- take that to Whine & Cheese.
Do not talk about company or dealer policy -- take that to FEEDBACK.
Do not piggyback your personal grievance on someone else's thread -- start your own.

Next infraction will be your last.

Yeah so I think its pretty cool that we ve got some warriors carrying Graymans following this thread. Graymans mission I believe was first to provide knives to servicemen. Now they are available to us all but they still put people in uniform before civilians. I believe Grayman is taking names to fill orders as they are able. I will stop being selfish and let some of you guys grab one of their knives before I add to my collection. :)

Here is a quote from one of the warriors that has been emailing me and wishes to remain anonymous. I know this particular quote is not about a Satu but confirms reports that Grayman makes a tough knife.
"With regards to your post on BF, I have used my Grayman Merdeka to do pretty much everything from breaching doors to splitting wood, digging holes and literally breaking down walls (the modern drywall/2x4 kind), as well as skinning animals, whittling sticks for traps and snares, hammering nails and tent stakes, it pretty much does it all, never had any complaints. I have also never had any knife capable of everything my Merdeka has been, I hacked through 3 inch thick hemp rope at a harbor in 2 chops and all it takes is a few passes with a diamond sharpener to put an edge back on it. I could probably take a lot of time to come up with a comprehensive list of every little thing that I have used mine for but it would take too long. I hope they get those Satu's ready soon!" - Anonymous Jarhead lol

Guys send me some info on the Satu please! Im afraid im gonna get attacked by a troll for talking about a Grayman other than the Satu! Trolls beware I have highly trained military trigger pullers watching my back! :D

I contacted Grayman about getting on the list for their CF version (after everything was sold out). The response said that she would notify me when more were available. I sure hope I can score one before they are sold out.

Thats like comparing a humvee with a .50 cal on it to an M1A2 Abrams tank. The humvee is a great vehicle and the .50 cal round is wicked but I would feel much more comfortable in an Abrams tank! Save money? How about lives and time. I recently got an email from a spec ops guy in afghan and he said whenever someone needed a knife they kept asking for his Satu. And they all had knives of their own, just not the Abrams tank! (oops i mean the Satu)
