I wont ever catch up!! This thread is full of beautiful pictures and comments, and is well minded by you Jack! It's always a pleasure to come here; thanks for looking after us (as unruly as we are!), beside your busy life, Jack!!!:)

Since I won't be around, I wanted to wish you lot an early Happy Yorkshire Day. In honor of that most important of days ;), I picked up this book for a bit of light reading.

48387202351_33aa633bb2_b.jpg

As Christian mentioned, this coming Thursday, August 1st, is Yorkshire Day - of course you already know that my dear friends, and I'm sure you're dusting off your flat-caps, and shaking your Henderson's Relish ready to help me celebrate ;)

A wuh o'er in She'feeld las' year 'n' a 'ad a gran' dae aht suppin' wi' ahr lass. This'un a'm not shoor worra a'm gunna do wi missen, bur' 'ope a fine summat t'do, 'n' a 'ope tha duz 'n' anorl

I know most of you already have a few nice Lambsfoot knives, but I'm sure you can always find something to do with another, so I'll do a giveaway for Yorkshire Day. The prizes are either a Hartshead Barlow in stag, or this A.Wright Big 'Un in horn, the choice is the winners. The giveaway is open to anyone who has made at least one post prior to midnight tonight (Yorkshire time of course ;) ) To enter please make a Yorkshire Day post on August 1st (midnight to midnight, Yorkshire time). You can include photos, a joke, whatever you like, Lambsfoot content is essential though. I'll be grateful for all your posts, but will choose what I think are the best ones, and the names of the authors will go into my flat-cap, and be drawn on Friday August 2nd. Hope you all have a great Yorkshire Day Guardians (I just thought I'd give you a little notice) :)

Thanks, Kevin, I really like that little stag, it's my going uptown carry. :D
Excellent choice for your uptown Lamb' . I started thinking about what my uptown Lamb' would be, then I realized I don't think the town I live in has a uptown. :(;):D
The Westy would have no trouble with that Boxer 12 in place of the limping four banger. What a great detailed model.
Yep, that motor, being a 3 liter with 500 hp, would have definitely gave the Westy a bit of pep. :D

Morning Guardians.

Thank you Harvey :) Is that brownies complementing your beautiful lambsfoot?:D

I didn't ever notice the brownies in the back ground, I was so focused on the beauty of the snake wood and damascus..... I am not one to not spot brownies right away.
LOL! Guilty! :D

Another cool pic Kevin :)
Thanks Jack.....for the complement and all that hard work.

Another pic from the archives.

Looking good buddy :)

Jack Black Jack Black Here’s to you recharging your “batteries.” Cheers. Very nice image with the darkness the Lambsfoot on the table contrasting with the foggy, misty, wet outdoors.

Thank you very much Harvey :)

I'm off to the City of York tomorrow, so I think I'm going to make it a special day (even though the forecast is for more rain) ;) Hope everyone has a good week

... I figured I may as well post the pics from the camping trip and whatnot. ...

As I said previously, my wife surprised me (and the dog) with a spur of the moment camping trip to Leavenworth/Lake Wenatchee, which is one of my favorite places!
...
Alright, time for PT and then back to reading the thread, lol!
Thanks for posting about your family, including lambsfoots, frolicking at the lakeshore!:thumbsup::cool:

Good Evening Guardians
Lovely floral arrangement, John! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Morning Guardians,

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Apologies once again for my absence, hoping I can catch up soon

Superb shot of that arresting bone WCLF, Jack!:cool::thumbsup:

Yes indeed GT! :D Great pic of Black Jack :)
...
Thanks, Jack. :)

Yes it is. My first batch of the year. I only got 4.5 jars, so I will wait until I have enough jalapeños to double the yield when I make it again. Great with pork, or just on a cracker with cream cheese!
Always love to see your Black Jack!
Thanks for the info and the compliment, Dave. :)

Thanks, GT!
I'm sure you're right about losing quotes being operator error.:D I think I should continue to blame the software though!:D;)
:D:D:thumbsup:

I usually make a post on my way out the door and then check in, every few hours, when given the chance, until I get home from work or even the next morning. As I go through the posts I try to click the quote button for the ones I want to respond to, basically saving them up until I can post again. What screws me up is when I look at other threads and do the same. Then posts from different threads all get posted in the same multi quote!
Yeah, I wish it were possible to have different multi quotes running simultaneously for different threads.

I keep a tab open with the quotes I'm responding to and another tab with the thread open to scroll through and read each post going back and forth between the two. You could very well be right that I forget to click the quote button on some. I sometimes go back through what I know I have already read and still find pics and posts that I forgot to "like".

Another knife that is very photogenic is your Black Jack. I love the Ebony on that one.
Great pic, my friend and hope you have a great weekend.
Your 2-tab approach sounds like it would be more efficient than my usual method :thumbsup: of inserting quotes, then running a "Preview" in which I can read the quotes, view attachments, and see my replies so far as I'm typing up a reply. My way requires lots of scrolling up and down, instead of just switching tabs.
Thanks for the good words about Black Jack. :)

Looking good Gary! :)
...
Thanks, Ron. :)

Charlie waynorth waynorth , I cannot wait to see all of the amazing versions of the Lambsfoot that you will create in the future!
...
Clever pics, Greg! ;):cool: It took me a couple of minutes to figure out what was going on with those new cover options! :D

I was wondering where the meat was, but my wife explained the boiled egg was the meat. I would eat that, without the ranch dressing, but fries on bread is awesome, and super awesome with bacon!

"Buenos días" just means "good morning", not "Happy New Year"! Thought you knew Spanish! ;)

Bonjour, mes amis!
B6ga9jD.jpg
I don't really know Spanish (I don't think I know ANYTHING about Spanish verbs ), but I do know what "Buenos dias" means. I was just messing with you a little. ;) I know they say, "Don't mess with Texas" but I thought messing with Texans is OK. :p
Your stag HHB is still splendid!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

5K Qs 5K Qs Thank you kindly GT. One truly can never get enough of seeing Black Jack. Fine image.

Good Morning Guardians. Wishing you all a fine weekend.

Distinctive Pere David, Ron! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Congrats on that distinguished ebony lambsfoot!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks for all your clever and kind comments, Gary.
I don't think I officially stated that I named the rosewood HHB but the post with the Blues Brothers is when I decided that his name is Jake. :D

Holy High-Class Lambsfoot Quartet, Darren!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Unlike @r8shell who keeps her agave in the ground, I prefer to keep my agave in a bottle.

Your horn lambsfoot is certainly especial, ED!:cool::thumbsup:

My son and I were out bow shooting this morning. Nothing wrong with a compound bow, but we both prefer long and recurve bows, as we do traditional knives...
The Hartshead shown sitting on the arrow rest belongs to my son, who also counts Jack as a good friend.

I'm glad to see that Black Jack was able to spend some time kicking back in the trees.

The restaurant was called Blackbeard's, and is on North Beach (part of Corpus Christi near the harbour). I proposed to my wife 28 years ago tonight on North Beach....
Congrats to the cute couple, Vince!:cool::thumbsup:

The knife in my photo is sitting on a wooden mushroom garden statue. My wife picks up a new one every year when we go to Colorado on vacation. We have about a dozen different ones. This one is shaped like a Morel and one of my favorites.

You're welcome, Preston. I wasn't sure how you did your posting, but I just took a stab in the dark at what MIGHT be going on. Hope it makes your life a little easier. ;)

Wow, it looks like the covers of your magisterial lambsfoot could have been carved from your "photo rock", Dwight!:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks!
I'm going to make a confession: When pictures of these Hartsheads first started showing up, I felt a little bit 'meh' about it. The bolster being flat, rather than rounded, seemed odd. I kept thinking that the bolster stamp should have been larger and horizontal rather than vertical. That's how I'm used to seeing bolster stamps, and I have a little o.c.d. about composition and use of space.

Well, just like lots of folks when handling a Lambsfoot for the first time, once I had it in hand, the ergonomics informed the aesthetics. The flat bolster feels nice as a worry stone: I like the way the wood slopes down to meet it. I can't see the pivot pin, but I assume it's located in the plain area of the bolster, so if I ever needed to tap it with a peening hammer I wouldn't mar the stamping. And it feels so solid and tight, I doubt I'll ever have to fix any blade wobble, but maybe in 100 years, someone will.

My point being, I've been carrying it so much my others are getting jealous.

I enjoyed your contemplative post, Rachel!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

The pictures really didn’t even do it justice there were some views that were just breath taking and had to take a step back to take it all in for a moment .

Wow- I have to go in an buy some new running shoes to keep up with this amazing Thread.
Jack - that’s a nice giveaway for the Yorkshire Day! I am certainly not going to enter - I have been way too lucky so far.
The photos here are just great! Finally I have worn my Ashley’s Choice down to the stage where Stropping just does not bring it up anymore.
So this week it gets a new edge! In the meantime I have one of my first Lambfoot with me - these came out when there were a few people mentioning the edges were a little uneven - mine so was also like this but I am certainly not worried about it as I always knew that the sharpening processes over the whole will remedy this.

Good luck my friends for Jacks Giveaway! It will good to watch that one.

Today I started off the morning being late for work by half an hour or so as a Lady up the road lost her wee toddler who was around 2 years old- first thing thing I asked her
1, have you checked your neighbouring apartments ( she lives in a small complex) Answer was no!
2, have you rung the police ? ( 20 minutes had gone by now)
Answer was no
3, have you gone and door knocked on your surrounding neibours doors to check their properties?
Answer was no
4, have you walked around the corner near the shop?
Answer was no :(

So I climbed into her a bit and said you had better get busy then while we help canvas the place and if nothing turns up in 10 minutes I’m calling the Police ( she is a one if the people who live off the Govt. yet can afford to drink all day and night ).

Wee kiddie was found about 5 minutes later- thank goodness for that - I just wonder about some people !

Hey Jack - what is it about York and rain when you turn up there lately? :)
