Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

LOL! :D Well, most of those folks only call in for ten minutes or so at a time, so they don't get a chance to collude ;) :D It's primarily Tool Man who comes up with the nicknames, but some of the guys have had nicknames for decades. When I first started going to the market looking for pointy treasure, before they knew my name, the stall holders used to refer to me as 'The Knife Man'! :D In an early conversation with Tool Man, I mentioned my nickname from school, Barn, and he calls me that, at least as often as he calls me Jack. I've not heard anyone else use it though. Some of the nicknames are pretty mundane, such as Otley Mick, who we also saw yesterday, and is originally from a place called Otley. My mate Wolfie gets the name from his surname, but the other Wolfie is a real character, who frequently howls! :D Harry Hot Balls is about 80, and always used to turn up with a small bag of spicy sausage-meat balls he'd brought from a food vendor in the market, saying, in one of the thickest Yorkshire accents, "Duz anybody want hot ball?"! :D Some other characters are Golden Gordon, Sheep's Head Dave, Barry The Ted, Old Billy, Billy Two Quiffs, Big Dave, The Odd Couple, Melbourne, and The Gangster's Moll, but some of them we don't see that often. Here's Tool Man testing out a cast iron pan he bought on Sheep's Head Dave :D

Hope you can get there soon Jeremy :) Nice pic

I can hear the theme tune as his gaping jaws relentlessly move towards that Spam and sausage sandwich! :D

LOL! :D Another great photo my friend :)

It's funny to think that in all the time I've known him, I've never actually seen him sit down to a full meal! :D That might be a good thing! 🤣

Sounds delicious Leon, and a great market :)

Well done Paul 🎖️

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone has made it through the week, and that you're looking forward to the weekend. I was just reading a newspaper online, and came across a short interview with actor and musician Henry Rollins, who I didn't know had lived in Leeds at one time, where he says he had the best onion bhajis he's ever tasted! :D I'm off to the dentist this afternoon, so hoping they'll actually do something today! The weather looks lovely, but I think I'm just going to potter around the house, and do a few things, before its time to walk down to the dentist, about a mile away. Hope everyone has a good day

I hope your day was filled with adventure and that the visit with the dentist went well today Jack. Lamb is awesome as usual!!!
Toffee Wings is always a welcomed sight Jer

Gracias amigo.

Thank you kind sir.

Very cool Jer. What's the story on that mini barn?

Jack to live there would either make me a very patient man or put me in jail.

That sucker has some great patina on it. Looks like a steady user for you.

Well I have had a great day. Got to meet up at the Badger Knife Show with a few Guardians and just had a blast talking knives and life. Of course I am horrible with pictures and only taken this picture 5 minutes ago when I got to my room. Missed a lot of great opportunities for some nice pictures.
Thanks for the smokes bigfish64 bigfish64 !!!!!! Had a great cigar and scotch with Todd just now. Of course I had to have this beauty with me all day. I hope you all had a great day.

You’re welcome my friend! And thank you for the Scotch, Badger knife club membership, and the gift that will have to be shown in another thread. 😉👍A8A79623-5433-4511-BD1E-1EE135053201.jpeg
Great day at the knife show today. It’s so nice to put faces to names and talk to some great guys as if we’d been friends for years. Looking forward to another great day tomorrow. 😎👍

I do recall at least @Amir Fleschwund using a dog-chew antler for a re-cover.
Good memory :) John Maleham, (ex gaffer at Wright's), once told me that the dog chews were one of the reasons he couldn't get hold of good stag!
Have a great weekend Guardians! The '19 lamb is closed here as the Aussie was keen to supervise me moving his antler...

Smart move :) And a cool pic, that looks like some decent stag! :D
What's up with the forced Bladeforms watermark now? And no way that I see to delete one's own media??

Finally had some time in the shop. I had the Rosie on hand just in case. View attachment 2129006
Wow, nice work Daniel  :)

Good morning Guardians, it's great to get Paul and Todd's early reports from the Badger Knife Show, and I hope that you all have a fantastic weekend, wish I could be there with you :) Spread the word on the Lambsfoot! :D Wishing everyone else a great weekend too, and I hope that you manage to find something enjoyable to do, even if it's just putting your feet up. The weather is kind of miserable here, so I hope it brightens up a bit. I wasn't able to make plans for today, as I need to take a pair of combat pants back to the guy on the market I bought them from last week, he's only there on Saturdays. I really need to get into the habit of going for a weekend walk again  I'll probably call in at Charlie's on the way to town, and pick up some shopping while I'm there. I'm going down to see a pal later, and we're watching 2 related films back-to-back, and drink some beer of course :D Got my Hartshead Barlow in my pocket, again ;)

I had never really thought about it before but after admiring some of the chews I can see why he'd say that!

A great weekend to you and the rest of the Guardians!

Here's the antler for my small dog (who looks a bit like a lamb), a not-so-aggressive chewer. The Aussie's gone through three or four 12-inch antlers in the time that this one has been nibbled. I chuckle at this one because he looks like he's taking a pipe with the way he holds it.

LOL! :D That looks like a really nice piece of stag doesn't it?!  Great pic Michael :)

Thanks Jack !

I wonder how many shillings a Lamb cost back in '55 ;)
With stag covers, depending on the size, they were either 36/- or 46/- a DOZEN! Or 3 Bob apiece, or 3/11 for a Big 'Un! In today's British money, for a stag-hafted standard Lamb, that's 15 pence (with 100 pennies to a British Pound). Or, currently, 18 cents

Hi everyone. Hope your off to a good weekend. 😎

This morning I took Cinna and Patches to the groomer. Then I went for a haircut. Carried this one:

After they were done, we picked them up and took them to the green space for a walk. The Bluebonnets are out in force! I had this ebony lamb, a gift from Dwight. Thanks buddy! And then I picked up some beers for this afternoon.
