If it wasn't for the Slave Negroes and the Dirt poor we would not have music today as we know it. From all the beautiful voices that came from Church choirs and the guitar skills and voices from the poor came the Blues. The forerunner to Rockabilly, Rock n' Roll then Rock. All the other genres sprung up from here. Buddy Holly, one of the most influential musicians of all time inspired the Beatles and Mick Jagger and the stones, 2 pretty influential bands you would have to say, Buddy got his love for music from the Blues.

Don't forget classic Bluegrass from the Deep South!

Then there is Country music but, was mostly out of cow country, and the wheat and corn fields of the MidWest.

Good morning Guardians !
Cassie and I got out early to the Mississippi River Dog Park. We did some exploring and took a few new trails down to the river. Cassie had a blast and I enjoyed myself as well. I'm going to be a bit sore though as it was a steep hike down and we came up the same way.

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend. The rain here has stopped for now, which is something. Tool Man is bailing out today, not that I have seen much of him. If there were more transport options available on Sunday, I'd be tempted to go back today myself, as I'm really not impressed with my hotel. The room is the smallest hotel room I've ever seen, there isn't even a chair! I'm going to have a go at shaving in the sink, which isn't much bigger than my hand, and then go out for breakfast. Have a lovely Sunday Guardians

I decided to go for a slightly more traditional English breakfast today. Have to say, it looks a lot better than it tasted!

My favorite bar has a sign over the kitchen that says, "Hot foods hot". Sometimes it's true.

LOL! That certainly wasn't true of my breakfast Hard to think of anything more unpleasant than a tasteless, undercooked, slimey mushroom, allowed to go cold, and served on a cold plate What do you reckon Vince Prester John ?! I have to say that the food and the service in the restaurants I've been in here, have been of a pretty poor standard, and it isn't cheap here either

1.45pm, and I finally got a decent mug of tea. I was passing the train station, and noticed a bunch of bikers outside a cafe there. Got a chip butty too I asked the young lass behind the counter if they had Dandelion & Burdock, but she'd never heard of it. Everyone thought this was funny, and I had to show her a photo on my phone to convince her we weren't all laughing at her!
