Good luck today Bob.I thank you. I am in the hands of my doc now.
Hopefully, one leg isn't shorten than the other tomorrow.![]()
Good post RickIt's doing pretty well in that area. It was just touched up, cleaned and lubed yesterday so all of the really dark stuff is gone for now.

I can just get a hold of the blade like this picture below. The nail nick is sharp enough to act as a grip. I don't really use my nail. Go figure. Stubborn I guess.

Very nice!
The biggest help (other than opening and closing it repeatedly) was sanding the corner of the tang right here. It really made the pull nice and smooth opening.

I guess they are all different. The 3.5" rosewood I just got is fine right out of the box. This large bone one needed some time and is now perfect.
Nice Mitch, I had burgers last nightEvening, it was burger time. Although mine were on wraps.

No apologies, no regrets.
Except I regret buying the knife, and not sending it back, and not deleting the pen blade in the first place instead of trying to save it. And not remembering the dealer so I'd know not to shop there again.
As he doesn't appear to be properly outfitted for grouse, I'm assuming the shotgun shells are but fashionable accoutrements.'The Chocolate Soldier'!

Where is The Chocolate Soldier in Yorkshire's time of need?? Probably off chasing grouse...
Hope everyone is doing wellI had a major calamity today, when I left my Hartshead Barlow in my other trousers!
I felt kind of weird and disorientated all day, and had to borrow Tool Man's knife to cut up cake, and perform a couple of other tasks
While it overshadowed my day, the weather has been excellent, and Tool Man had a good day, though his stall was unrecognisable, as it was mostly covered with modern tools. It turns out that Tool Man had bought a huge haul off a guy who was being forced to sell them, a colleague of bus driver Otley Mick. It turns out that the bus-driver's canteen has a pretty Brazilian working there, and this feller got more friendly than he should. His missus slung him out, along with all his belongings, which is how Tool Man came by the guy's tools. It's an ill wind...as they say
They may be selling well, but the modern tools are a big step-down in quality, compared to Tool Man's usual stock, so I didn't see much of interest. Boring Ray, who had got a load of other stuff, from the same source, via Tool Man, gave me this comic annual for a publication, which paid a brief, but significant, part in British comic history

British Special Forces must be having some budget problems, as they sent this sergeant down to look over Tool Man's stall!Feller should have come a few weeks back, Tool Man had a load of ex-MOD stock
I quicly dubbed him 'The Chocolate Soldier'!

In the early afternoon, Tool Man went off to see Barber Brian, and I decided to go home for my Hartshead Barlow. In the bus station, next to the market, a pair of septuagenarian drunks were loudly carrying on, and fighting with each otherAfter they ('Darby' and 'Jone') eventually went on their way, I saw the security guard, sheepishly, and unsubtly, come out of hiding!
I wish I could have got a rear shot of Darby's jacket, which was emblazoned with the legend: 'Criminal Damage'!
Nothing like growing old gracefully!

JackJack Black - A two-blade Lambfoot knife can be difficult/irksome to open at times not because of a hard/stiff pull but because the nail nick of the Lambfoot blade is partially obstructed by the Pen blade. However, I find the usefulness of a two-blade Lambfoot knife far outweighs the difficult/irksome access to the nail nick of the Lambfoot blade.

I initially thought it would be an improvement over the standard Lamb for me Ed, as I have always liked 2-blade Jacks. However, I find the Lambsfoot blade so versatile, I didn't seem to use the Pen, and on Wright's version, it does add a bit of extra weight and bulk. I prefer a Pen when combined with a longer Lambsfoot blade, not least because the smaller blade can be a bit more public friendly here. The one I've carried most is this old TEW, which I really do likeJackJack Black - A two-blade Lambfoot knife can be difficult/irksome to open at times not because of a hard/stiff pull but because the nail nick of the Lambfoot blade is partially obstructed by the Pen blade. Lovely Lamb !
Nice ones Ed !![]()
Lovely Lambs
I always think you did such a great job of that mod Ken, it's very well-thought out, and perfectly executedModoc ED
Mine came with the pen blade ever so slightly dropped further into the well. For this, the main blade was almost pinchable but the pen blade was near impossible to open with my nail. The scale was much thicker and I couldn't get my nail angled into the nick enough to push the blade out. So, I re-shaped the scale around the pen blade nick (in addition to few other modifications), and now the two blade lambsfoot is my favorite carry!

Mate i have seen and been in the company of blokes who can have 10 beers and be fine, some of them good company. But give them the 11th and they will stab someone in the face with a broken glass, absolutely frightening. Some should just not imbibe at all. That's my thought for this Friday. Have a good one everyone. It's amazing what Loopy Juice will do to some people!
Gorgeous Rhidian, Joshua, I'd like to see more of that beauty!
Smooth sailing, Rufus!
Good one!
Stunningly beautiful!
Love that lamb Joshua. Wonderful jigging.
Thank you fellas! I feel very lucky to have this one.Good post RickThat looks quite pinchable, particularly as there isn't much of a swedge, from the look of it
As you say, they are all different. Sanding the corner of the tang (the 'run-up' I think) is probably the best way of sweetening up a truly brutal pull, since it just mimics natural wear
Nice Mitch, I had burgers last night![]()
Sorry about that Bob, hope you're going on OK buddyThat Lockwood Brothers was an incredible find

What a fantastic story KenJack Black
Here is a fun story for ya,
Almost twenty years ago now, a Scottish friend of mine had is buddy, James, visit him in NYC. He brought over Buckfast that we emptied as a pre-drink for a night out.
I don't recall this too well but not long after the pre-drink, I evidently was pretty badly (or goodly) inebriated. The story goes, I was slouched over in the corner of the bar when the bringer of the Buckfast came over to ask "Are you okay?"
Evidently, I had replied, "James, if you stick around here long enough, you'll see that this is a common occurrence for the Ken." His words not mine (or maybe it is). His name is James Robinson who played the young William Wallace in Braveheart
Always been a light weight and so shall I remain...but that Buckfast...don't recommend it except for one pupose...get drunk! Whooy!
Cheers to you and Buckfast!
