Hawaii Knife Life - daily use for work and play

How is that saber grind biting into the wood? I always had the feeling that a full flat would make a better chopper (ala Cold Steel Recon Scout, for example). My only experience with Ontario SP line was an SP8 that I ended trading since I couldn't find anything it would be useful for (too thick of a grind, to soft of a steel).

for over 20 years i have been keeping and using my SP knives , i never found that the sp line is soft for knife ,NEVER.

Yep they do tons of damage here too. They will destroy acres of soybeans overnight and root up a sugarcane field that looks like you took a disk to it.
I guess they are about the same wherever the populate.

Definitely a destructive animal. Luckily enough people hunt them to keep the population relatively low.

Unfortunately, many people who move here from cities don’t understand and work to ban hunting. The ironic thing is they build big elaborate houses then complain when the local wildlife eat their yards. They can’t figure out why the “No Trespassing” signs don’t work Hahahaha!

LOL That is awesome. The Utilitac II, brought to you by everybody on BF who actually loves knives*!!

* Oh, and Ontario and Joe Pardue, I mean, I guess. LOL

Went on a hike in the forest preserve today.

Lots of time, effort, and money is spent trying to keep feral pigs and goats from destroying the forest.

I’ve gotten good mileage from the original Leatherman. I personally think it’s a better design and quality than the newer versions. It’s also very pocketable.

Whittled a walking stick. Always a good idea to have a stout and sturdy stick for walking and potential protection.

Wild pigs do a lot of damage to the rain forest. Lots of money is spent trying to contain them and eradicate hunts.

We are doing our part and also enjoying the hunt and meat.
Imagine the control they would bring to the population if there wasn’t an Assault Weapons Ban! Two words that have meaning here in Texas: helicopter hunting

Yeah, Hawaii has some pretty strict and over-reaching gun laws.

They hire and fly in professional hunters on choppers. They get to use the fun stuff.
A shame to see that beautiful eco system destroyed by them; I have zero sympathy for pigs (any of which can become feral monsters in a matter of months-even the cute little pink piglets)...how was the meat?

Something in LC200N would do you well, between the corrosive salt air and using it hunting, maybe a Siren?
