The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is ready to order! See this thread for details:
https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/bladeforums-2024-traditional-knife.2003187/
Price is $300 $250 ea (shipped within CONUS). If you live outside the US, I will contact you after your order for extra shipping charges.
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/ - Order as many as you like, we have plenty.
No refund yet at this point I am glad it was only $240.
At this point I suspect that the lack of a refund is purposeful and perhaps retaliatory against you for even starting this thread. Like others have already said, a PayPal claim may be your best and only recourse.
I concur with all of the above observations and advice- ifI’m starting to suspect that is the case. 3 days was all he needed to put this to bed. He clearly doesn’t care to put the refund through at this point.
Time for a PayPal claim and negative feedback.
He didn’t even need to click on “refund”. Most here are honest, could’ve just paid him with a credit card and ate the g&s fees. That’s what I would’ve done IF I had already moved the money out. As for banning, that’s for God and supermods to decide. I won’t comment on such matters.I concur with all of the above observations and advice- ifHawkfan can not be bothered to refund money from a transaction that occurred two weeks ago because he spent it before he shipped the knife, he does not belong on these forums.
File the paypal claim and give him negative feedback.
Holding someone’s money hostage because they were upset that your OCD accounting method inconvenienced them and delayed their refund is unacceptable. Having spent the money before even sending the knife is shady.
Not bothering to give the OP updates or any communication whatsoever is beyond classless.
Hopefully this guy gets banned.
This plays itself out over and over again in these forums. There have been, for at least the 20 years I have been a member of bladeforums, two painfully simple rules of the exchange- don’t spend the money until you are sure the other party is satisfied and the deal isnt done until both parties are satisfied. Add in don’t pay F&F and we would barely need this subforum. He didn’t even need to click on “refund”. Most here are honest, could’ve just paid him with a credit card and ate the g&s fees. That’s what I would’ve done IF I had already moved the money out. As for banning, that’s for God and supermods to decide. I won’t comment on such matters.
Much appreciated.Boru13 Hawkfan now has a sales thread https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/random-edc-goodies.1824594/#post-20895444
The tracking number shows delivered on Friday. Did you get the knife? No refund, but PayPal says pending. But I don't know what that means based on the above message from Hawkfan.
No knife that was from previous knife sale to try to prove his original point of slow tracking updates from the post office. To justify his original excuse for no tracking updates on this knifes shipment that he admitted to never shipping. He is pretty long winded in his excuses for not doing the right thing!
Really... I received the following PM yesterday morning. No knife, no refund.
I'm not 100% convinced about that. I think it's good practice to not leave any money in your PayPal account. PayPal is too capricious about freezing funds for me to let money sit there. I don't spend it if I don't have the money to refund, but I transfer it as soon as it arrives. Worst case is I transfer it back. You should not be moving the money around in a way that you can't refund the buyer immediately, until after the buyer has received the item. Looks like you did so before it even shipped. Lesson learned I hope!
Complete load of crap.From Hawkfan 12/11/2021 710pm
I called paypal and they told me that their system changed your refund payout method on it's own and mailed out a check yesterday to you. I asked why and they said probably because I issued a refund with no funds initially so when I added/connected my bank account, the system decided to send you an echeck instead which will draw from my bank account instead of my paypal balance since there was no balance in the account. This was infuriating to hear because it's just another delay for no reason that benefits no one. Since this sounds like another bullshit story, I think you should call paypal and verify for yourself because the phone line had no wait time. their number is 888-221-1161 but if you visit paypals site first and click on help then contact us, call us, they give you code that skips the entire wait line.
Check this out..this is proof that totally saved me.. Look at the tracking history dates. I sold someone a knife on Nov 26, printed the label and physically handed USPS the package on November 26th. I didn't get a receipt but i figured i was being recorded on security camera so I wasn't worried about the receipt.
But they never actually scanned my package in as you can see in the history...it only says the label was printed but the item wasn't received by them even though it was. Since a lot of packages had tracking delays, it's not that unusual for me so I give them more and more time, expecting the tracking to update but it never does. By this time the buyer is convinced I'm a scumbag and without a doubt I'm a liar. So of course they also open a dispute case against me for “item never received” which I don't blame them because the tracking is the only thing they can go by.
The tracking never updates so I speak with the head of the local post office to see what I can do about the situation. My funds have been taken from me for multiple disputes, all of which are purely bad luck so I really need to start solving some of these problems. The post master guy recommends that I fill out a missing package report but I tell him that would be pointless because how are they going to look for a package that was never even scanned in to begin with? If it's not scanned in, doesn't that mean the package basically doesn't exist to them? The guy calmly tells me to just do it because filling out the form is the first step in the process even if it wasn't scanned in. I listen to him and fill it out and 24 hours later I get a call from them telling me they found the package in Ohio and they're going to scan the package in and update the tracking for me. I can't believe my f'n ears.
After being treated like complete dog shit for weeks even though I shipped the guys knife at 9:01 AM, 3 hours after he paid me for the knife.....these people telling me they found the package was amazing on so many levels. Since the tracking now updated and there is proof of the missing package investigation and that I wasn't a scumbag, everything is reversed and I win the dispute case. Which means nothing more than now I don't have to lose the knife and pay for it.
This tracking is proof that the things I told you about “tracking issues and delays” were not lies like you thought they were and that you reported to the mods. The mods think I'm shady because you told them I was probably not being honest and making up stories about tracking delays..I'm not blaming you man, I probably would have felt the same way you did because what are the chances that the USPS systems are messed up? Not very likely, they process billions of packages per day and if their system is messed up, they are in deep trouble...so I would always believe USPS over some random guy selling questionable objects telling me something that sounds like bullshit.
But the truth is that I wasn't lying because this tracking proves that their tracking is messed up right now. I can give you 2 or 3 more recent examples of the same situation. Look at the tracking history. Without ever being scanned in and with zero updates, the package is still moving towards the destination. This proves that tracking can be delayed and is still being delayed frequently today with no updates. This tracking data isn't some old data, it's current from right around the same timeframe as our deal.
I'm human so I also just use my common sense to assess situations and I always go by the evidence which in this case is the tracking history..that's all we have to go by so again I don't blame you for reporting me to the mods as a scammer because I sent you a label but never shipped the package. But I didn't ship the package because I wasn't going to ship you a messed up knife with a weird detent issue.
Which seems like it was a part of some scam I was pulling and why I made up some story about tracking delays to probably by myself some time or something. But honestly man, making up stories and lies all to just try and steal 240 bucks doesn't seem like a realistic thing for someone to do, it just doesn't seem like a dollar amount that would be worth the trouble. Not to mention I requested Paypal G&S payment type from the start.
Yes I should have contacted you faster but I knew I needed to refund your money so I was waiting to get the funds in my account so I could refund you when I talked to you. But I kept getting hit with these completely unlucky situations like this missing package that I'm showing you now. All this stuff contributed to these delays. I'm not asking for your sympathy brother or for you to feel sorry for me..not even close, this isn't exactly life or death and will be over soon. But what I am asking you is to simply take a look at this evidence so you can see that I was telling you the truth from the start.
here is the tracking number so you can see this isn't photoshopped usps.com tracking #9400108205497808878392

He is trying to ad more BS in with the slow post office tracking updates. He never shipped the knife. Slow tracking updates came right after I paid him. To stall for time before I raised a red flag because he never shipped the knife. He continues to stall at refunding my $240.
