Hawkfan no shipment of knife, no refund

Claim filled with Paypal. They say refund pending.
Look, you might be mad at the guy for what transpired, but if you got your money back just admit it to everyone. No sense clinging to the rage if he sent the refund. Do you or do you not have the money back in your account?

Exactly my point. I don't leave money in paypal either but I am able to fully refund a buyer at any time. This guy wasn't able to do that. He's moving money around in such a way that he can't immediately refund a buyer. In this case it looks like ha was spending the money and leaving himself no way to refund a buyer.

Looks like the guy may have refunded. I would wait until that refund clears.

I think this is the #1 reason why knife traders flame out. It's more of an issue on the social media groups than on the forums, but it's an issue here, too. They get too caught up in buying knives and start buying knives by leveraging the money from sales in process. Many of them have good 'feedback' because they've been fortunate enough to not have a sale go south, but because of their poor financial practices, if at any time a sale goes bad because a knife isn't as described or is lost or damaged in shipping, the whole house of cards comes down.
 
Wait, I still don’t have my money back from a payment I made immediately after saying I would take the knife on 11/24. And he has 100% positive feed back here.

You may want to read or re-read yesterdays posts, the OP clearly noted 3 TIMES he has received no refund.

Quit flinging poop to see if anything sticks.
 
Every time one of these topics arises, it makes me never want to buy or sell on this forum.

Do we need some kind of "escrow" type service in which a trusted third party receives both funds and item, then forwards to the respective recipients after confirming all is on the level? It would cost some money, but might be a good idea for the $500+ transactions.

Not trying to stir the pot.. Ive had some experience with PayPal refunds, The Seller in question and buyers that wanted (deserved) refund (myself icluded). The Seller in question here DID make errors: communication breakdown and using the funds before the deal was done.

It looks like he did provide a refund through PayPal's default E-Check (happens when there are no funds in the PayPal account). Its a pain in the ass, but it is still a refund. The E-Check typically takes 3-7 Buisness days to clear into the Buyers account. Once the refund has been issued, by seller, as it has been, PayPal takes responsibility and gurantees payment (Even if seller has no funds).

Ive had multiple positive dealings with the Seller this thread pertains too, all were smooth without issue. Im kind of surprised this happened to be honest, cant put anything past anyone though. Im sure OP has contacted PayPal for status of refund. I hope this comes to a resolution for all parties involved asap.

If you have zero buying or selling experience on a 21 year old account, i doubt you're going to start anyways. The paypal G&S system works well enough, it looks like this case just hit some bumps in the road with the refund.

He contacted me via Instagram about a deal we’d been discussing over the past few weeks to finalize it. That should have been a red flag but I was tired and had a bit of whiskey in me so I didn’t investigate. That was stupid on my part. I haven’t heard anything from him since sending payment. I’ll update here with how it goes. Luckily I sent via G&S.

Lol! Bubbles is the man! The smartest man in the trailer park!! When he busts out Conky I laugh so hard I cry.
