Help CapeCod508 scammed me

I just wanted to add that I have an aol account and pay almost $20 a month for it. Also, you can click on my user name on aol and it will show I've had the account or been a member since 2002.

Point being that simply having an aol account isn't necessarily an indicator of a fly by night or free account.

Agree. I paid $70/month to Verizon for a wireless internet access, but I do not get a Verizon.net email. Should I be prohibited from trading?

No. But there may be additional checks implemented. It is not important to have a paid-email-service-provider account, but the idea is to make it difficult for scammers from taking genuine members' for a ride. Maybe a non-disposable phone number, or a Verisign-signed certificate, or hooking up bladeforums with the DoD list to ensure it does not generate a hit, or the police verification records across the US, etc. You get the idea. :-)

Eh, it all depends on the person. I remember when someone took a risk on me. I had 0 feedback and not many posts and the trade was my sebenza +$ for a BNIB digicamo smf. Didn't even have me ship first. But everything worked out in both of our favors. He got my knife I got his. Yeah, trading with a 0 feedback 0 posts guy isn't a good idea unless they ship first, but hey, they have to build feedback too. And members that have been around for a while could just as easily screw someone over by having them ship first as the new guy could if they ship same time. Pretty sure we just had a long time member just scam someone recently. It's all about the guy behind the comp, which is a total crapshoot, but my point is, not all new guys are here to scam people. Alot of them are just honest guys who want to trade knives.

And then when you had a feedback of 2 I insisted you send me that SMF first, before I'd ship whatever you got for it. Then the next 2 trades we cross-shipped because you'd proven yourself to me. You're right, that other person took a chance, and like most of the time, it turned out fine. It's that small percentage that makes for threads like this one.

Let me tell you all something I think is hilarious. I sent this scammer a few emails suggesting he do the right thing and send everyones items back. I identified myself as a Leo being that I am one. This idiot had the nerve to call my chief of police and try to complain on me for "harassing" him! This guy is nothing more than an oxygen thief lowlife!

Wow what the hell? If that's true, I think I'll have my uncle the sheriff call his police chief and tell him about this little scam. I thought about cutting my losses and selling what he sent me but this dude has some big ones to call the police on other people.

Oh it's true. My chief thought it was rather funny that such a low life scammer had the audacity to call and complain on one of his senior officers for "harassing" him. What a joke!

Hi folks, I know it's a weird place for a first post but I read this thread yesterday and as a MASS guy, was ashamed of the actions of Taber. So I did a little research and found that in 2009 him and his girlfriend were arrested for shoplifting and stealing a laptop from a home. http://http://www.95wxtk.com/print_page.php?contentId=4316847&contentType=4
Hope the link works. Never tried this before. Anyway, sorry to this dbag's victims.

Guys

I just called "tera Waldroup's" job at the Duffy health Clinic in Hyannis. "She" is the scammer in my case and I have >15 emails identifying herself as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. As she was with a patient , i left detailed messages about this scam with the receptionist and on a voice mail she shares with another NP. No threats, just asking her to call as clear this up before it goes any further. In case you are interested, their number is 508-771-9599. Will let you know if she calls back.

On related issues, there must be something in the water lately, or I am just attracting the nuts on the trading forum.... A guy offers a zt 550 for trade , we agree on a trade, I ask where to ship and he says that he traded it to someone else....no losses to anyone. Just bad form.

Hope it gets better

Well I recieved the money order today. It looks legit and has a receipt, but I'm going to cash it and leave it in my account for at least 2 weeks to see if it bounces.

Nope I am not a fake account. I got scammed too and reported negative feedback to the forum. I sent over a Spyderco Military and got a bianchi police belt. As soon as my item was out for delivery the twaldroup1980@gmail.com stopped working. I didn't realize what had happened until I tried to contact this "person" and the email address and google plus account were dead. I didn't do my due diligence and got scammed. Bad on me. I'm an active user on head-fi (headphone nerds) and am usually just buy and sell and not trade. That'll teach me. If anyone is able to get in contact with this person, please PM me the info. My contact address is dead, and I shipped to the same address as everyone else in South Yarmouth. Such is life.

Any chance this is your Military:

That very well could be. I'll email and ask for better pics. There's a scratch I know very well and can easily match with my pics. Thank You!
