How long did you wait for your K5 Tomahawk?

I got an email response about two months ago asking if I "could wait a little longer because the sheath was not ready".
I don't even care about the sheath anymore, I just want the hawk!
I understand you often have to wait for good things in life. And I don't mind waiting if I am given a fair estimate of how long. Things happen, and sometimes you can't deliver (I understand that).
However, if it is going to take 3 or 4 times longer than promised I would have bought from someone else.
I am a patient man, but it is running out:(

Guys,

I really am going to ship these. Really. I am not going away, amd we are moving forward with production and implementing improvements in hawk and sheath design. We did have design a totally new sheath, test and approve it. Then Survival Sheath Systems is a VERY busy business, and I was behind other orders that had been placed before mine. Robert at SS has done a wonderful job of getting these done, but having to wait for Tec-lok belt attachments from Blade-Tec added to the wait, yet again.

Any time I have stated a delivery date, it has been because that is what my supplier stated for a projected time. I am truly sorry for the delays. I have had no control over them, and am waiting to supply hawks to hundreds of customers that have also been waiting, like yourselves.

Please work with me for a little bit longer. Again, I am sorry.

My hopes are up!
If the hawk is as good as I am told, I forgive you Eddie:)
(by the way Eddie: this squeeky wheel wrote you the email about how scarce the kydex animal seems to be in New Jersey)

Im still waiting for mine, about 14 months, I think. But I believe I'll be the first in the UK to get one &, to his credit Eddie DOES keep me informed. I can wait, though I AM looking forward to getting mine.

I've had my hammer poll about 6 weeks now. Looking forward to the shorter and lighter spike model to come out.

I am surprised that the nanny state government in the UK would let you own a tomahawk.

I already own a couple of Cold Steel models. The government are SO busy with their stupid "knife amnesties" (where all the bad guys hand in their sharps! Yeah, right!!) that they havent discovered 'hawks - YET!!

Eddie,

I place my order for a hammer poll on July 15th. I was really hoping to have this before the hunting season. My first hunt will be Oct 20th. Any chance I'll get the hawk before then?

(I have faith in you too. I know a guy who has used your hawk & he raves about it. I not an impatient person, but I do need a hawk for my hunting camp . . . I really hope it is your hawk that I get to use.)

If you think the ship date will be later than Oct, I'll still keep my order standing, but I will need to buy an cheap camp axe to fill the void. I'm sure I'll break it after a week or two . . . just like the last 3 cheap camp axe's I've used.

Has anybody heard from or received anything from K5 in the past few weeks?

I've tried to contact them multiple times with no response yet.

Hmmm... For the first time ever, I haven't gotten a response back from him in a while either. I'll try calling later today, and post if I get through to someone. Hope everything's OK, his last post at BFC was to this thread on 09/12.

Any response Bladewolf?

I tried to call him today and I got his message that has his new number.
I called the new number and left a message on his machine.
The wait continues...

Heard from him this morning. He was somewhere totally incommunicado for a while. I envy him that, people seem to reach me anywhere on the planet, particularly when I want to be left alone. :o

He and K5 Tactical are back in the saddle, so I'm sure you'll hear back on your inquiries. For some reason, my message wasn't received at their new number, so if he doesn't call you back, try Emailing him, or use the contact form on their website.

:jerkit:

Why don't they just sell the design to a better capitalized company that can deliver the product to the customer in a timely manner.

I've followed these hawks from just about the beginning. I truely believe it's a Murphy's Law kind of thing. As we all know (maybe), bigger hawk specialty companies have run into stumbling blocks too. I don't blame Eddie for wanting to hold on to his baby, and see it through. The measure of a company's success and growth, is not whether or not there are stumbling blocks, there always are, but how they navigate them, and whether or not they stay the course. Eddie is staying the course, and as Dwight said in this thread, who I have tremendous respect for, he has faith in K5 Tactical, and so do I. If a time comes when that faith subsides, I'll be the first to put away my pom-poms, but I don't think that's going to happen. Check with some operators in the sandbox, I have... :p ;)
