How many of you EDC an expensive ($300-$400 and up) Knife

My SnG is in my pocket almost everyday. I've never once worried about losing it or using it for that matter. I'm glad I decided to carry it. Its a fantastic tool and is a nice conversation piece when I'm browsing the Cabela's knife counter and someone notices it in my pocket or asks what I'm carrying haha

What's wrong with having a decent job?

I kept getting better jobs so I can pay for my hobbies haha, serious. I've thought, 'I need a better car/knife/fish tank/etc' and forced myself to move up...

I don't look down on people who work hard to get things they want.

Like stated earlier if I spend the cash on it I'm going to carry it and use it, I enjoy the quality, I carry a ZT 560 but will upgrade to a XM18 and will carry and use it. I recently spent 500 on a Busse HG55 satin finish with tigerhide scales from another member here in less than a week I had it out skinning a deer, busting out the rib cage and and enjoying the use of a high quality tool.

Anyone who says a knife Is a knife, should use a $1 folder from the bargain bin. Because a knife is a knife.

I do.

A knife is a knife, but I also like quality, and carrying and using things that my friends make. This is why I like custom knives.

lots of space between a dollar store knife and a $400 knife :p.

Huh?

I EDC my Sebenza 21. Hard to carry anything else after using it.

This, in a nutshell. After you start exploring up the price chain it's hard to go back, and real easy to go up...

A PM2 or a Grip just doesn't 'feel' right after you start using some more 'refined' knives....IMHO

(There is no arguments though that a PM2 or a Grip can do the Job a (insert $400-$2000.00 knife here) can.

My current EDC is a Jeremy Robertson El Patron in 3V. It just feels right in any situation to me....

been edc-ing my primary large 21 with polished handle. No scratches, melted cord in the lanyard pin to keep the pin with no lanyard. still pretty dang sharp!

I carried this Seb for years and years:

I tend to carry less expensive knives these days (ZT, Spyderco, RAT), but I still have a few Sebs on standby...

Considering i have paid full MRSP on a lot of Spydies, yes i do.
Timillie is around 300euros in Belgium yet i still carry, use and sharpen it on sandpaper.
I forked around 350 for a Southfork on the net when adding the outrageous custom fee... Pygmy warrior was 280 or so at my gunsmith.
I wouldnt dare to use something more expensive.

My "cheap knives" start at around 100$. Those include zt and spyderco. I usually Carrie an Alan Davis or Chris Reeves folder though and those fit this category. Russ

Excluding slipjoints, the quality I crave starts at $200 (Spyderco Tatanka).

Depending upon my plans for the day orr how I feel, I will switch off between my Benchmade Gold Class mini Barrage M390, or my Spyderco/Farid K2 CPM v10, or my Benchmade Gold Class 7505-131 M390 Auto knife. Love them all.

If I like an expensive knife enough to buy it, I have to like it enough to carry it. I would never buy something too nice to carry... I've gotten in the habit of buying a knife and before carrying and using it, I decide if it's going to replace any of my current rotation. If the answer is no... She gets sold or returned. If the answer is yes, she gets tossed in and used. Then what got kicked out either gets sold or the rotation gets bigger.
