I spent $879.99, look what I got

I'm not trying to go against another dealer here, but being a former CC employee for my day job, you can file a dispute with your credit card company for not receiving your items if things continue to not work out. Just trying to help since that is a lot of money for half a knife.

Best of luck, J.

Edit to add: most CC companies will only wait 30-90 days for you to file a dispute, so don't wait much longer or you will lose that time.

Thank you for your professional advice, I used paypal from my debit card to pay, The first Scarab was paid in June or July, I have little hope to get refund from the seller.

The second payment for Scarab is still within 45 days, I have only a few days left to use paypal dispute, but I don't get respond from the seller to make sure if they can or when they can send me the rest part. I think I need to protect my right. Should I open a dispute now to make me under the protection of paypal and cancel the dispute until I receive the rest part from the seller?

I would file the dispute with paypal for non-received items. That will at least freeze things up on the the sellers end, and hopefully give you a very high chance of getting your money back. I believe paypal allows 60-90 days to file a dispute. This will at least set a fire under the sellers butt to get a move on since his paypal account for the amount that you sent will be frozen (example: you sent $400, so $400 of his account will be frozen). This seems to be the only guarantee of getting a refund since you haven't received your items. If the other half of the deal does arrive, you can simply re-send the funds or cancel the dispute/claim at that time.

I hope this helps, J.

As the seller has had plenty of time to make this right with you, you should inform the seller that since you havent heard from him and havent recieved a complete knife that you are filing a dispute with your credit card company. You could also file a claim with paypal, but be warned that if they find out it's an automatic knife, they may sieze your funds under the terms of their "acceptable use[of paypal]" policy.

Switchblade Knives.
You may not use PayPal in the sale of switchblade knives. A switchblade knife is defined as any knife that resembles a pocketknife with a blade that can be released automatically or by use of a trigger. Other names for switchblades include spring-blade knife, snap-blade knife, gravity knife, and butterfly knife.

Honestly... if i were you i would do what Porcupinemtns66 said and then i would find a better seller to buy from.

You should be demanding full refunds not asking if parts from other MT's will fit. Your out $879.99 USD! You've been robbed by someone. The dealer should never have agreed to ship in seperate boxes but that is besides the point, they should be insured. You paid a lot of USD and have a lot of parts that are useless.
Wake up, send what you recieved back to him and demand a refund in full.

Hello,
Since I don't hear from you and I think I need to protect my right, I will open a dispute on paypal. Please let me know when I can receive the package, I will cancel the dispute when I receive the package.
Thank you.

mingyu, I would file a dispute with PayPal now, before you are no longer inside the 45-day period. I would not, however, file an "item not received" dispute before consulting with PayPal, the reason being that you received part of your order. Contact them through the "contact" link on the site and explain what happened and see what they recommend.
From the moment you file your dispute, PayPal gives you another 20 days to try to find an agreement with the seller, during which the funds, if still available on the seller's account, are frozen.
If you cannot find an agreement, then you escalate the dispute to a claim and PayPal will judge your case against the seller based on all the information both of you provided, as well as checking all messages you and the seller sent each other through PayPal.
I want to stress how important it is that you open a dispute now and that all further communication with the seller be through PayPal's Resolution Center.

paypal is not very knife or gun friendly, hope this does not cause you any further trouble....

Never had a problem in that regard, I use PayPal 90% of the time to buy knives. Now many online knife dealers also offer PayPal at checkout.

Yes I'm looking for another dealer now because I'm so sad about what I experienced. :(
Now I can only hope I receive what I should have, if I can't receive it within two weeks I will ask for refund won't wait.

After I opend a dispute on paypal, I got an email from the seller saying:

Can you please resolve this I was ready to ship you out today...

Should I cancel the dispute now? or should I wait until I got the package then cancel the dispute?

Are you allowed to open another dispute if you resolve the first one? If so, resolve it and wait for the parts and if they don't show, file another and escalate it.

If you can't I would leave it open until the stuff gets there, he probably doesn't want bad publicity so it should get him off his ass.

I would wait until your package arrives before closing anything. This is your one and only chance of getting either your money or your items delivered to you. And after all the time he said he had too many emails, it seems that this one stuck out like a sore thumb ;)

If you close this now, you will run out of time and paypal won't be able to help you.

If you cancel your dispute before receiving the item you will lose the leverage you have. Tell the seller about this thread (send him a link) and let him know that you will resolve the issue and unfreeze the funds once you receive your merchandise.

Also, always use a credit card for transactions, not a debit card. You have a lot of protection with a credit card company and almost none with a debit card.

I did a research on internet, PayPal only allows one dispute, once I close it I can not re-open it or file a new one, so I have to wait until the package arrives, if they are correct parts and nothing missing, I can say it's resolved.
Many thanks to supmonkeyface:thumbup: and J:thumbup: I would wait to see if the package arrives.

Thanks alex, I won't cancel the dispute before I receive the correct package.

I've already sent the seller a link to this thread some days ago.

Send the seller a reply to his stating that you will resolve the dispute and release his funds as soon as you recieve your complete order in full and not until then. Hopefully he will ship promptly and your issue can be resolved. At any rate it will let him know how it feels to be left swingin' in the wind.

I would be telling him I need both the knives before I closed any disputes.

It seems to me the guy has taken you for a bit of a ride as you were being
rather more understanding and trusting that a lot of people would be.

I've been coming back to you trhread to see how you have got on,

you have been more than patient and you deserve either a full refund or two complete knives that you paid for.

The seller has not completed his end of the deal and as far as i'm concerned has alot of ground to recover to save his reputation.

Can i also suggest that you get the seller to send your items via a service that offers a receipt of receiving the item/ status of delivery/ delivery confirmation !.

Cover all the bases mate and DONT accept any excuses NOTHING !!!!!!!!!.

The problem is the first Scarab was paid about four months ago, I can't open a dispute on that, so I can only dispute on the second Scarab.
Hope I can get what I deserve.
