Intros all around

I'm Luke. 24 w/ an awesome wife and a 4.5 year old son, and hopefully a daughter on the way soon. I'm a youth minister in Oregon, moved here recently from the midwest. I love canoeing and camping. I enjoy diving head on into hobbies. I'm pretty sure I was born on a gravel bar of the Jack's Fork River. Here's a pic of me and my brothers when we were little, I'll be going back to that same spot in a week with them! I MUST get a good picture!

I recently found out I had cancer, but it was over so fast it hasn't caught up with me yet.

I promise my name has nothing to do with the amount of clothes that I wear. Oddly enough it is a shortened version of "nakedpretzel", which was a random alcoholic drink I found in a book when I was 14. I'm currently waiting to have my name changed to "peripatew" which is Greek for "to walk". I thought it was time for a change, as I've been naked for far to long... :D

Hi all. I've been around here for a while, but I tend to read more than I post (I don't really have a lot of skill or knowledge to share).
My name's Adam. I'm 35 and I'm from England. I live in Japan at the moment although I'm planning to head back to dear Ol' Blighty next year and begin teacher training (Or an MA. I haven't completely decided).

I hate smiling in pics and I generally pull a dumb face, which my wife hates.

I like the outdoors and I enjoy trying to hone my bushcraft skills. Recently I had a terrible case of Carpal Tunnel, which kept me from the outdoors a lot this summer (Hence the support on my right hand in this pic).

I've been on Bladeforums for a number of years but I just started reading this forum. I grew up in Northern Wisconsin where I spent a lot of time hunting, fishing, and hiking. I just started to get back into outdoor survival skills. I have two boys, one almost 4 and the other 9 months old. I'd like to teach them some of the skills that I learned as a youth.

My interests are mainly firearms and knives. If it's sharp or goes bang I probably like it. I also like to cook and I occasionaly take a decent picture. I work for the state.

I am Ripper... Tearer... Slasher... Gouger. I am the Teeth in the Darkness, the Talons in the Night. Mine is Strength... and Lust... and Power!

I AM BEOWULF!

Er, wait. no I'm not.

Different forum. . .mumble. .mumble. .mumble.

What a great thread. I'm just catching up after a very busy week at work. Thank all of you for your posting. Obviously, I'm an infrequent poster, but I hang out here a lot and have learned a great deal from all of you folks. I've also really enjoyed the community atmosphere, all of your generosity, and the spirit of helping one another out. I've also developed a healthy fondness of sharp things. :p

My name is Jonathan, but I go by Jon everywhere but work. I'm 39 and live in Maine with my wife and three kids ages 8, 6, and 3. My wife and I have been together for 20 years – married for 10. Work is at a wireless carrier as an IT Analyst. I've been doing IT work in one form or another since I graduated college 17 years ago.

When I was growing up, I had the opportunity to participate in an excellent summer community program that introduced me to camping and hiking. I've had the “fever” since then. During college, I had another opportunity to meet some great people that guided canoe/camping trips and made traditional outdoor gear for a living. I went on quite a few trips – both winter and summer and learned much about traditional camping from them.

For the last 10 years or so, I haven't done much camping. Much of my outdoor activity has been limited to the backyard fire pit. Thankfully, this past summer, I took a car camping trip with our family and another family, and I took a weekend canoe camping trip with a buddy from work. It was really great to get back out there, and I've made a commitment to myself and my family to get out more.

This me. I had to go back a couple of years to find a pic of myself. I'm usually behind the camera.

my name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commmander of the armies of the North, general of the felix legions, servant to the true king Marcus Aerelius, Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife and i will have my vengance, be it in this life or the next. :D

Doc Potter, Shoeless Joe, Huckelberry Finn, Tom Sawyer, Injun Joe, Becky Thatcher. I know them all.

My name is Patrick, I'm in my late 30s and I'm a bit of a dabbler. I enjoy hiking, backpacking, canoeing, woodworking, cooking, playing guitar and bass (badly though) building effects pedals and the occasional amplifier, goofing around and knives (of course). I'm an educator and currently teach 2nd grade. I've got a fantastic wife who doesn't always understand my interests, but just rolls her eyes and goes along with my stories. She gave me my son, a little 2 year old who loves playing outdoors and going hiking with me. I was Mr. Mom for just shy of a couple years and had a blast looking for mushrooms, trees, rocks, wildflowers, creepy-crawlies and the like on our adventures. I hope to give him an appreciation for nature like my family did for me. I'm also glad to be here, sharing and learning with you folk.

My name is Scott and i've been camping, fishing and hiking most of my life thanks to my friends and family that started me on that path as soon as i could walk. I recently (last 4 years or so) have started backpacking and hunting. I'm 37 and work in the automotive business currently as a parts counterman and previously as a mechanic since i was about 20. After growing up in the East Bay Area of Ca i recently moved to Northern CA and love it up here. I've been married for almost 2 years and expecting my first child in feb. In recent years my knife and gun collection have shrunk, but it's been making a comeback thanks to a small budget for outdoors gear we worked into our finances.

I've been on bladeforums awile and mostly lurk and read, only really participated a lot when i was a busse fanatic years ago. Now all the busse knives and whiskey are gone, but i'll always cherish whats left of my liver, i think it's in a small jar somewhere.....should probably donate it to science or something.......I wish jerry made livers out of infi, then i'd be set.

:D:D:D

Thanks to all who have made this a great place to hang out...all the lurkers, posters, mods, and especially Spark! I look forward to seeing photos, reading stories, sharing ideas/learning, checking out cool gear, and all the other things that make this a fun, safe place to hang. Better than a bar, IMO!

Not too new but I'll play along to be nice :)

I'm Steve and I am a knifeaholic. I'm 40 yrs. old. Live in N.E.Mississippi , but I'm from the Blue Ridge Mtns. (And I really miss em!!!) I'm married to a wonderful woman who loves the oudoors as much as me, she lurks here sometimes, but I can't get her to sign up. She puts up with my grumpy ass, so I keep here around. I have 3 wonderful grand kids as well as 3 grown kids and a crazy Boxer who thinks she's a person.
I am a part time knife maker , full time cabinet builder/installer. I have also built cabins in the Mtns before I moved here. I love being in the woods for any reason, or no reason at all. Love shooting , wood work ..blah blah blah LOL

I can shoot stuff outta my arse too, but unlike Jake and a few others around here, it ain't lightening :)
