Northernsurvivalist - Forgive me but I'm not sure who this is. Sometimes if you order by email it can be hard to keep user names with actual names. If you would like to tell me your real name I would be happy to update you.

Just checked my e-mail. I found a response from you Joe. My apology.I will wait for the knife- I guess it wil be on its way soon. Seems you are already getting some shipped out.

I got a pm last Tuesday stating that Joe had my sheath left to finish and then the knife would be shipped. I responded and said that's fine but he needed to communicate with me and keep me updated. I sent him a pm this week on Tuesday asking for an update and still have not gotten a response and still no knife. I have been extremely patient with Mr. Hargis and his situation but it seems as if we are headed backwards again.

Joe - please get intouch with all of us regarding the progress of our knives. You have told us our knives are all done and the sheaths were just about finished. That was a week ago. Still no one has received their knives.....
All we want is our knives or our money back. It seems either you don't want to give us our knives or our money back. We all understand health and family issues, we have all had them. So, we would just like our knives in the next couple of days or our money refunded by Monday July 23. That's very , very fair Joe.
If not you leave us no other recourse except to call the authorities.
I'm sorry it has come to this. The guys on here all put trust in knife makers when we send them our hard earned money, without a product in return. It's all about trust. I can't speak for the others, but, I certainly don't think too many of the clients on here are millionaires . We all work hard for money, especially these days. It's money we can't throw away -

Please Joe, do the right thing and get intouch with all the people you have orders with, and make it right. If indeed their knives are all done and just a couple of sheaths left, you should certainly be able to finish them up and ship right away. If NOT then refund all parties before Monday. This isn't unreasonable. At first we thought giving you a couple of weeks was reasonable - but , it has come to our attention that you have said the same " 90%" done to all of us. It just doesn't add up. Then you have not kept intouch with us. Surely every couple of days you could post up here and let us know whats going on.
We know you check on bladeforums because you can see your " last activity".
Joe- please make this right.

Thank you and we wish you and your family all the best,

ns, very well said.
My previous posts in this thread have all been "don't jump to conclusions, sh** happens, give the guy a chance" type statements.
Those waiting for knives or a refund have done all this and waited plenty long enough.
I need to reassess my belief in the "milk of human kindness", or at least wake up to the fact that not everyone is straight forward.
Joe your 'reasons' seem to be excuses.
Integrity is the only thing nobody can take from you, but you can 'take' it from yourself.
Too bad, because integrity is a person's most valuable asset.

I have not heard from joe about the progress of my knife since the last time he posted in this forum. Enough is enough. Joe, get on your game. Why do you want to loose your reputation over a couple hundred bucks. Just refund our money or keep us informed on progress.

Sorry to hear this guys.. It is a small amount of dough to make yourself look like crook. But then again it is a lot. We all know how hard our money comes now. Being self employed my whole working life if I tried to lay down some of the excuses some of these crooks do...Gee z . I would be out of business. The guy should suck it up and just make you guys whole with a complete refund. Don't even bother with the knives anymore.

Joe, I have given you more than enough time to either ship me a knife or respond to my emails and phone calls. I have filed a charge back with my credit card company and reported you to paypal. They have this thread on file now and im sure they will be in contact with you. If anyone else has used paypal and/or a credit card to pay Joe I highly recommend you contact your credit card company and paypal. I am sorry it has come down to this but this has gone on far too long.

Joe promised on Friday that my knife would be shipped by today and I still have not heard from him. I have requested a refund from him and I paid by gift so I'm s.o.l. if he doesn't get me the knife or refund because it's attached to my checking account. My patience is done with this situation, all we asked for was communication and he can't even do that.

Sorry to hear this guys. I guess he didn't really have all of "our knives done, just have to do the sheaths and ship them Monday ".

Very discouraging. Well there's still four of us without knives or answers. Are there anymore out there ?

I guess the complaints wil start flowing into paypal, credit card co, and police station in Ok.

Joe, you couod at least have the decency to send an e-mail to everyone, if not have a family member do so.

You had allot of people defending you on here, I don't know what they will say now.

Please make this easy on yourself and refund all parties, it will get much worse when the authorities get involved.

Your knife making reputation will be ruined for a few hundred dollars - ???

Make it right Joe, and do respond to this.

Thank You,

I've been following this with much dismay. So sorry that you guys are getting the shaft.

Joe, as a satisfied customer of yours, I'm asking you or someone in your family to do the right thing by these guys. You can start by communicating with them and refunding their money where it's been requested. If that doesn't happen, I surely can't bring myself to buy anything else from you nor can I recommend you to anyone. You once had a good reputation here, but this has pretty well destroyed it is my guess.

7-11-2012 " sorry guys, all knives are being finished and shipped"

Well that was 13 days ago. That would seem like a fair amount of time for Mr.Hargis to ship the knifes or refund monies.

It doesn't look promising. No comments on BF, has anyone had an e-mail from Joe Hargis ? Or a phone call ?

Lets keep each other informed.

Good luck to all who may have seemingly lost their money. We must let the authorities know so they can put the pressure on him.

NS

Still nothing from Joe as of today after trying to contact again. I have requested my refund once again and will be leaving negative feedback, just ridiculous.

I talked to another one of Joes customers who doesn't have a BF thread name. He told me he had to call the Sheriffs department to get them involved.

I can't believe it has come to this. The Sheriff told him they contacted Mr.Hargis and were assured all knives were being finished and shipped on this Monday. Sound familiar ??? If the knives weren't in hand by Wednesday of next week , charges would be filled by the Sheriffs office.

I don't know why he couldn't have kept his word to all of us ?
I don't know why he didn't just refund us all ?

I can't imagine a skilled craftsman like Joe Hargis getting much work after all this is over with. I still wait with baited breath for my knife.

I hope all you other fellas here get yours too, without any more incidents.

Good Luck to All....

It is very disappointing it has come to this but after 4 unanswered emails and 3 unanswered phone calls I too have had to contact the local authorities in his area. I can't believe Joe did this to us, it is a real shame to have wasted the reputation he had built. All you had to do was keep us informed of our knives status, you should have stayed in contact with us regardless of our knives progress. All you had to do was let us know you were having issues and they were going to be late, we would have understood and been much more patient than you just blowing us off, as if we don't matter. I hope everyone in the knife community learns from this experience. Never pay upfront for a custom, and never do bussiness with Joe Hargis.

Although I did finally receive my knife (30 days after paying for an already completed knife), I'm not really surprised that this is still going on. I smelled a rat after the first few weeks. It's a nice knife, but I don't even want it anymore. I have a hard time even owning a knife from a man who has taken advantage of so many people.

I'd throw it on the exchange, but I'm not sure anyone would even want it either at this point. My vote is for everyone to contact the Sherrif's Department in his area. The day I threatened to do it, was the day he finally posted here in this thread. Coincidence? I don't think so. It is my opinion, and that of others, that his actions constitute theft. Charges can and should be filed against him if he doesn't make good! It's up to you how many more chances you're willing to give!

I really do wish you guys the best of luck!

Here is the information for the Wellston OK. Police Department:
318 E. 2nd St.
Wellston, OK. 74881
(405)-356-2501

I placed a call to the local Police also and am currently waiting on a call back from Deputy Jordan. If you have not done so already it's probably a good idea, this guy is obviously trying to go through with scamming all of the remaining orders. Mods, gonna lock his account down? I think the evidence is overwhelming at this point.

Oh jeeze, I feel sick for you guys. I bought a knife from Rick Hargis (Joe's father?) some time back, and the experience was wonderful. I'm afraid that Joe is screwing this up not only for himself, but for his father and anyone else named "Hargis" in the knife business.

Joe, it's too bad you let this get out of hand. It's not as if we haven't seen this pattern before: Some talented new maker becomes popular, gets behind on orders, maybe has a personal or family crisis, and then procrastinates and blows off pre-paid buyers. Sadly, it all could have been avoided had you not taken money for knives that weren't ready for delivery.

:(

We've been told by Sheriffs dept that the knives are to be shipped on Monday July30. That being said , we were told this by Joe himself before.
If the knives arent received by Wednesday August 1, the Sheriffs will lay charges.

I cant belive someone wouldnt do "whatever" it takes to get the blades done and delivered to avoid criminal charges.

I know how you feel MikeyJ, it seems hard to stomach the thought of having the knife that you know damn well wasn't made with good intentions.

I hope everyone gets their blades and sheaths in good , safe condition.

Here's hoping fellas .........
