One of the good fellas found parts for the Tilt and let me examine/handle them unassembled. I got to fidget with bearings, the Vanax 75 blade and both sides of the handle, deep-looking carbon fiber and titanium (the interior of the titanium handle is scalloped out to save weight but the removed parts are compartmentalized to maintain strength, brilliant). What great engineering: Smooth opening/closing, light weight, large framelock feels manageable in my hand, bias cut frame lock doesn't need a stabilizer and the hourglass back spacers are jewel-like.

Thank you Thomas. Thank you everyone @ Kershaw. A Fall classic event in my neck of the woods that is very much anticipated and enjoyed by many. Well done.

I arrived at the 2011 Kershaw factory/warehouse sale @ 8:40 AM today, Sunday, and went right in as the line was moving when I got into it.

Thomas said that I was the first one to say hi so he gave me my choice of the two knives and I picked the brilliant Tilt. WOW! I still can't believe my good fortune.

My loot:

Tilt, a gift from Thomas
Bradley bali, 1/2 a c note
Auto, Breakout, same cost as bali
Shun steel, just under a double saw buck
Giant filet/breaking knife, double saw buck
Key ring, toys for tots (Kershaw matched my donation) & this was a gift from uniformed Marines

SOB they had Breakouts there!!! Now I'm mad I didn't wait in line.......... :(

Amazing stuff guys! Thanks to all who have written about their luck at the sale... it leaves one wanting to buy a plane ticket for next years sale.
BTW. Nice gift Thomas! You rockstar:cool:

Yes they did have Breakouts. I had my choice of plain edge or serrated edge. All black scales. Very, very strong spring/snap. You can't stress enough that the opening action on this knife is wicked violent and you should hang on tight. Mine works flawlessly and no I haven't dropped it yet.

Got a red one for my terrific sister last year and I've wanted one since.

Niiiiice score oregon!

Thank you.

Thomas picked out the two gift candidates personally, while I ploughed thru tons of shiny bargains and friendly knowledgeable folk, and let me mess with them while he told me inside stories of the wonderful world of cutlery. A tough choice between the Tilt and a 500 series.

Well done sir! That tilk looks fantastic. And the whole event seems well worth a stop, if I'm ever int hte area. Kershaw just went up a notch in my book :)

I've been reading this forum for about a year, but had never registered! This sale was so good, I had to say something (aka first post)!

I went yesterday and snagged a great haul of gear.. Picked up a Black Blur non blem, and shallot for myself, and a Bradley Bali and groove for my dad! Was looking for some ZTs but (understandably) they got snapped up on Friday, I'll have to catch a "cold" for next year's sale to get there nice and early!!

Thanks again to kershaw for an awesome experience and keep up the great work!!!!

+1.

I mean, just take my case: I was looking for leather sheath for my Kershaw Taskmaster shears, which I use at work, didn't find em but came away with a terrific warming experience and knives to treasure.

Welcome to the forum. Glad you are here.

BTW, there were a few ZTs brought out while I was there Sunday...

I am going to stop reading this thread. i am pissed that I missed the tilt. :( there is no way I can afford a new one, and so I would have done whatever I needed to get a blem.

I had a lot of fun this year and hope everyone else got some great deals also (and remembered to dress a little warmer than I did!) I got some good deals on Friday and some great deals on Saturday with some help and now trying to pick up a few hundred $ more from Dave for items that I missed.

See you all in line next year! I'll probably return back to lurking but after seeing first hand how hard Kershaw works to please everyone I'm going to have to comment every once in awhile just to say how great everyone at KAI USA is!

A few more pics of the Tilt:

Can't remember your knife's name? Not a problem. Just look inside:

This gifted knife is the 35th one. Serial number 35. Thomas gave me one of the first one hundred made! Sweet!
