Everyone is certainly entitled to make their own informed opinions as to whether or not they will deal with Kirk. As a matter of information for those who might be contemplating a transaction with him, I offer my personal experience with him.
I had an unused Busse FBMLE up for sale for $750. Kirk posted an unequivocal "I'll take it" in my thread, which is what I requested the buyer (any buyer) to do. I received no lowball offer from Kirk. I received no trade offer from Kirk. He simply stated that he would take it and accepted all of the terms for payment as listed in my thread.
We exchanged address information via e-mail and two days later (Thurs. night), I received a USPS MO from Kirk for the full amount. Then mid-morning on Friday, Kirk posted a question in my original thread to see what was up because he had not heard back from me yet and was apparently concerned that the $750 may have been delivered to the wrong address. I emailed him as soon as I saw that he was looking for me because though I had just gotten the MO the night before, I was concerned that perhaps he was having second thoughts about the FBMLE. In my email, I asked him about his intentions and offered to mail back the then uncashed MO with no hard feelings, but he stated again unequivocally that he wanted the knife. That knife went out yesterday, and I expect that he will be getting it on Monday. I also anticipate that when he does get the knife, he will be happy with his purchase and our deal will be complete. And if that is the case, I will be leaving positive feedback for him.
I am sorry for anyone who may have had a bad transaction with Kirk in any way. This is a great community and I tend to steer clear of such fellows rather than take a chance that I will become the next victim for a douche bag. But in my case, Kirk has come through and done so in a way that I would expect of any buyer. He could have simply disappeared for a few days and offered no communication. He could have tried to lowball me, offer a trade after saying "he'd take it", or come up with any number of reasons or ways to stall or blow me off. He did not do any of these things. He did in fact do the right thing, and to the tune of $750. That's a pretty good chunk of change; clearly he was at least as committed to that FBMLE as he was to the $750 he spent, and probably more so.
Thanks for reading.
