Lion Steel Dom

This fella must have realized that a sheepfoot doesn't make the best "toad sticker"

The Dom does make a perfect EDC though - for me anyway. I think these all look great. My personal preference is for the natural handles though. I've always favored stag over ram, and still do in general, but some of these ram horn photos are amazing!

I think the game bird theme to the names of these (Dom, Shuffler, Round head) is pretty cool too. At least I assume that's the theme.IMG_20180624_191531.jpg

I'm glad I selected the micarta, I plan to use this thing and tend to baby some of my knives with finer material covered handles. We're coming into the really hot months here so I plan to park my carbon steel knives for a while and I think this one might just be the ticket for me to EDC, it is slim in the pocket and carries unobtrusively, don't have to worry about my sweat rusting it, and love that I can pinch it open easily. I like slicers and this blade is ground thin enough to perform very well at that. I'm glad I waited for the sheepsfoot to give this a try, really dig the long pulls on the blade. CK and lionsteel hit this one out of the park.

GOT IT! I think it was worth the wait - very pleased.

These guys sure build a great knife. Sharp and even, smooth, pinchable, pull is about a 6, nice snap.
Well done!
You guys with your awesome ram horn samples are making me jealous!

I'm starting to 2nd guess my decision to reserve stag. I love my stag dom, but these varied rams horn handles are a step above.

Congrats to all who got them!

That's exactly why I've got a round head and shuffler in micarta, the summers down here are brutal and last 9 months. This morning the humidity was 92%

Ram's Horn is the real show stopper with these knives. My Dom should be arriving today and I will look forward to seeing how it varies from my other Ram's Horn. I don't know that I am hugely motivated to order any other cover material with these knives, I just find the horn to be simply superb, in aesthetics and in hand.

I am excited to see what Mike has in store for the future with this collaborations. I wonder if we might see some 2-blade versions at some point.

I would love to see a two blade stockman style knife. A clip on one end and a shorter sheepsfoot on the other!!!

Just retrieved the Dom from my mailbox, the Ram's Horn does not disappoint one bit. It came caked with polishing compound though so I need to give it a good scrubbing before I pose it for pictures. Standby.

I ended up with a stripey one, too. Shown here with Roundhead sibling. Also thought it interesting that the Roundhead has rounded scales and Dom has flat ones. Probably should have used a different background than the dark wood table, but you can kind of see the difference in the second photo. All around great knife.

My natural micarta arrived today with a black slip case and it is perfect! I also received a new custom slipjoint plus a gen3 upgrade for my Wicked Edge sharpener all at the same time so it may have been a little overshadowed for today :) I will take pictures of it in use and also next to last years's BF knife which is a good comparison.

I'd be interested to see that comparison. Or with anything else with "natural" micarta. Good idea

Heres another variation of the RH.
I'm really happy with the final result. Pull and snap are close to perfect. Fit and finish is quality.
As you can see in the pic I also ordered the CK pocket slip. Its a nice quality leather, with so so stitching. The slip fits perfectly with the knife (snug) and it will break in nicely.
Very happy with this purchase!

Man, kind of wish I had gone with the horn now. My ebony example is superb, but that horn can about pass for crosscut mammoth ivory.

Reminds me of tree rings, great looking knives!
