These are Bladeforums "rules" no one else's...... Nowhere else does this apply but here. Period!
So I ship a 500.00 knife. I pay for insurance, signature confirmation and require payment from PayPal. Buyer claims he never received knife and scribble on signature paper is not his. Is seller still responsible I don't think so..Paypal will not issue refund to buyer under this example. Post office will not pay insurance either.

Paypal and the post office isn't going to pay for a 50 dollar knife, with standard tracking that was scanned delivered either and I don't care what anyone here says, it ain't gonna happen.
Thats a shame. I see you just hit your 1 mark anniversary taboot. Look, from experience, you are only doing yourself an injustice. Ive had as many deals with people on this site as anyone. Great community overall period  A little uncommon sense goes a looong way regardless of where you choose to deal in life.It doesn't pay to sell here unless you're willing to take a loss, and that's what it seems like to me. I'm pretty much done selling anything here, as a matter of fact I do not even come to this site very often anymore due to this type of thinking.

But this IS a Blade Forum issue according to the OP. And if the entire trading world operated on this simple principle it would be a better place![]()
Folks,
Around here, "signature required" does not seem to mean much... Such parcels are routinely left on my porch or mailbox.
Not a good thing
Yeah, this is a tough one. I don't sell much less than $200, so I'm not really sure how I would ship a $50 knife.
Delivery Confirmation just doesn't seem to mean much as I've had several packages show as delivered the day before I get them. I know others in other parts of the country that has told me the same.
I don't know why they do it, but it seems at times they will mark it as delivered once its at your local PO.
Knowing that, I think I might put Signature Confirmation even on a $50 item. SC has went up to something like $2.50, so I may just take a chance and not use it for a $50 item. I guess I'll decide when/if that occasion occurs.
You are assuming that the entire trading world is honest, which it is not. That's why we pay for services such as delivery conformation. To keep everyone honest as possible.
Careful where you trade! Honestly, pardon the pun, I never have an issue.
I think the issue has now become a BF issue as stated before. PayPal /USPS will not side with Buyer if there is Del. Confirmation under a certain amount, and signature confirmation above that amount. It think the position of BF might be a problem, as any buyer can simply say " I never got item" no matter what the proof, how does that work?

Paypal sided with me when I got burned on a deal, the seller had DC confirmation , The USPS could only track the package to my zipcode , I provided the right info and Paypal sided with me on the matter, Bladeforums is only a facilitator for us all to buy/sell/ and trade, and IMO they have no responsibility/obligation to anyone if someone gets ripped off, the only thing they could do would be shut the exchange down and IMO that would be horrible.
