This is happening randomly on various posts...dunno if its a glitch or not but figured I would post it, I'm using google Chrome. Normally ads are positioned at the top of the thread so was just wondering.
Just noticed a new issue. I've lost the ability to PM registered users. Not sure if it's a glitch or just inherent to the new software, but I'm guessing if I lost it then the other forum mods probably did as well.
Mods should be able to, but I'll check
Robert.B - ads got turned on for first and last post on each page of threads, to make up for turning off skyscrapers.
Jaxx, you are a moderator, so you won't see ads
I don't know if there are any ways to further "columnize" the forum views, but my biggest issue has to do with the really crowded feel of the subforum views.
There's a big difference between this:
![]()
And this:

The new version just crams too much information into too tight a space, and it's a lot more difficult to scan down a page and look quickly across thread titles. There's less white space that sets off the thread titles, and the additional information is nearly the same size. Also, those giant icons continually pull the eye away from the most relevant information. People read the web with a particular F-Pattern approach. A lot of research backs this up--for instance http://www.useit.com/alertbox/reading_pattern.html The current design, however, makes my eyes/brain work harder to read in this fashion and pick out titles (which line up and stand out much less neatly), and I get tired when perusing the various subforum views.
Don't know if there's anything that can be done, but it's my biggest issue with the current set-up. I've really enjoyed tinkering with some of the other stuff, and think the forum is going to be better in the long run.
