I'm guessing he would have produced something by now if he actually shipped his end of the deal.
 
No matter how this turns out I really want to thank everyone who took time from their day to help me out. I really am grateful for everything you guys have done for me.
 
Class Act, holding that knife up from delivery was a wonderful gesture and may have saved Mr. Map..... (yeah may have, right) from a bad deal

Seeing as Mappetizer should have had his package Feb. 8th and it is now Feb. 16th and he still has not even been contacted by nightstalker at all, this looks to be a scam. I have very little doubt about it.

EDIT: Ive also contacted a mod to let him know of me buying Mapperitzers knife and to see how long we should wait.
 
Regardless of whether Nightstalker1975 is a scammer or just completely unwilling to take responsibility for his decisions (complete with faux indignation), I reckon you guys have done an awesome job. I know it's not an entirely "no harm done" situation but it's pretty damn good to see. The members here are many, varied, draw on a huge amount of experience and knowledge, and have some very interesting contacts. And just sometimes people draw on these resources to achieve some pretty damn good results. It's this sort of thing that makes BF a strong online community and a harder target for scammers.

Have you considered just sending Mappetizer the retrieved knife? Assuming it's close in value, it might be something he'd like, or could sell himself. Just an idea... :)
 
Agreed. The Bladeforums community has been amazing to me the year I have been a member on it.

Me and Mappetizer have agreed on a selling price for HIS smf (this is still his knife, its his until the trade is complete). Just waiting on the mod to get back to me, and me and Mappetizer's deal will be made.

EDIT: Lone_Wolf: I actually haven't, but I think he wants the knives he originally tried to trade for. If he wants it though, more than happy to trade him + cash for his SMF.

I would assume that he'd probably be getting his knife today if it was just because of delays in USPS with the holidays and the long weekend and all that. Regardless that's no way to handle a trade whether he had good intentions are not.

Even if the knife was really sent and got lost USPS would not honor a claim until 30 days was up as sometimes a package could still take that long. Might be something to consider before finalizing a deal on that knife.
 
He has not provided something as simple as tracking nor has he come back on this thread after his single vulgar post. He has no proof he shipped anything.
 
I think Monofletch deserves a hall of fame thread, time and time again he's helping out folks without hesitation and going above and beyond. :thumbup:

Undefeatable is also a stand up guy, I know I'd deal with you in the future if the option ever presented itself. :)
 
Seriously, how awesome. I hope that Nightstalker reads this thread and gets super steamed that his theft just got blocked. Excellent work by some excellent folks. :thumbup:

I've thanked Monofletch in the past for his assistance. He truly is an asset to this community. I agree wholeheartedly with this suggestion.
