Bad Nocturnal Knives Order

Just in case you don't see the new message here it is again.
Gene this is simple my Name is John Tedder and I have emailed you so many times it isn't even funny. I have no problem putting my name out here since you can't just hit my profile link and get my email I will give it to you. It is jtedder1967@yahoo.com. You have been promising me since October that my knife would be ready and each time it is something different. Very simple here I have several knives out with custom makers and you were the first that required a full payment and then nothing. I am pissed and have a right to be and am sick of the excuses of whatever. You can't even hit my profile and send me an email that is just down right wrong. I am SSN690 and my name is John Tedder and my email address is jtedder1967@yahoo.com and my order was placed March 15, 2015. So what excuses are you going to give me? Vendor issue? I have no problem with my full name here so lets get this fixed one way or another.

You should try contacting him through any other way than a real public forum where he can be scrutinized and not be able to shut it down.

Very active at looking for new people to screw on Twitter/Tumblr/Instagram/Facebook.....

Hey Gene,

I thought you got that email thing straighten out and answered all emails??? Wtf you missed one his name is John Tedder you joke of a maker. BTW thanks for blocking me on Instagram so I can no longer report all the people that post you scammed them and ask where their refunds are.

I'll be bumping this eternally so your name and company will result in a link to this thread. You are a joke man, I can't believe anyone would give you a 7th or 8th chance. Good luck trying to get help from any of the other makers, word in the maker community is out about you, not like I had to say much already, they already associate you with scum.

Ummmmmmmm Gene????? Helloooooo??? Do I hear crickets???

I have tried all aspects to contact Gene but as you can tell he doesn't respond at all. No email nothing what a joke.

Ordered a knife from NK right after Gene "opened his books" in Sept of 2014. Waited and waited and in March 2015 received an email asking for the balance of the payment, it was sent right away since I actually assumed it was ready to be shipped out or almost ready and that I should have the knife in a matter of several days... Days turned into months and finally after countless emails to "Marie" that went unanswered and to Gene that barely responds with some lame excuses I got a partial refund in August 2015 (not sure the guy even makes knives anymore, he could've made my knife 100 times over since I gave him plenty of chances and plenty of time). But I only got a partial refund after another customer put out a PSA about Gene and his scams on IG and I jumped in. That was it... I'm still waiting for the remainder of my refund and I still send Gene emails every month and every time it's the same old excuse: "Oh, we are swamped... oh, we got a new system (whatever the f*ck that means)... oh, we had a child... oh, your money will be refunded asap..." Gene from Nocturnal Knives is a scammer, plain and simple. Don't order from him, don't become another one of his victims.

PS. He actually held some kinda of a sale and I saw people paid him money so I send him an email that same day asking about my refund again hoping that he's got money to pay me back now... no such luck. More BS excuses every time. I feel lucky I at least got a partial refund. Buyer beware.

Okay Gene, your turn to either make another lame excuse are actually do what you say. Refund these people.

Another day Gene and no contact. You have my phone number, email and also can contact me here and still no contacts. Ok either contact me or I contact the Police and make a Fraud over State Lines complaint. You have had enough time and this is sad I have to do this in the open but your at the end of your road. I want to be contacted and also either a refund or a knife in my hands. I have been patient long enough and as you can tell he still doesn't contact me.

John, your refund will go out this week as per our email. Thanks again

I checked your profile and you don't have an email associated with it. Are you Max?

I'll be bumping this eternally so your name and company will result in a link to this thread. You are a joke man, I can't believe anyone would give you a 7th or 8th chance. Good luck trying to get help from any of the other makers, word in the maker community is out about you, not like I had to say much already, they already associate you with scum.

I absolutely blocked you on Instagram. You blocked me and you also don't respond to any of my messages. Also, has anyone ever said that I've asked any other maker for help? I can tell you right now that I've never asked any maker for anything, more like the other way around. We've turned down more collaborative projects with other makers than makers you even know the names of. We have only ever done one collaboration and that was with Robert Carter. We only did that one because he was a friend of ours. We have also helped many many other makers by teaching them CAD, or helping them with designs, or giving them tips on how to grind or set up their shops. You can keep spreading your hate and bumping this thread as much as you like. If you haven't noticed, I bump it every time I respond here.

I don't know what you want from me. I don't blame anyone but us for where we're at. I have said many times now that we have made our share of mistakes and bit off more than we can chew. It doesn't matter if we had vendor issues or otherwise, no matter what it's our responsibility. Do you see me on here posting that the water jet guy I used is a scumbag and I want to ruin his business because "he screwed me?" No, I'm not doing that, I have not ever even mentioned his name or business. Because, ultimately, it's our responsibility to deliver no matter what happens.

We're doing what should be done to get back on track. I know you can't imagine because you don't have much experience in the knife industry, and as you've spelled out you live a mistake free lifestyle, but things happen sometimes. I have been on the other side of this many times..."it will be done this week,""it will go out next month," etc. etc. We never wanted to be that way, and I always did everything we could not to be like so many makers out there. But, having gone through this now I can see why and how it happens. You get overwhelmed and the communication suffers, then the accuracy of your time frame suffers, then mistakes or unforeseen issues happen, etc. It is what it is. We have never knowingly tried to mislead anyone. We have always had good intentions, but you know what they say about good intentions. If you can't deliver then it doesn't matter how good the intentions are. But, that being said, I don't care if I have to give every single customer that we have a refund, I'll do it. By your logic, more than half the people in the knife industry are scammers and aren't real knife makers because they go over their wait times and don't use a band saw.

No matter what, not one of my customers will be out anything from this experience. I don't care how many times you bump this thread, talk behind my back, or drum up bad publicity about me. My customers won't get taken care of because you say they will, or won't. I know the real truth of the matter and I know what kind of customers I have. Every time you post something here I get 20 emails saying to turn the other cheek. I try to do that, but I'll keep bumping this thread right along with you.

Are you insane?

Talk behind your back??? I blast you to your face, on instagram and on here. This is why no one can believe you because you say completely untrue things.

Go look at knifehaterz's latest post more and more people coming saying you have been lying to them for 1.5years and not give them their refund they've asked you for YEARS!!!

You are batshit crazy. You tell me I don't respond to your post? You blocked me you fool, how can I respond.

I haven't been in the industry long? You are right, I've only been making knives for a year and my customs sell for 4-5 times your knife price, so I guess I have a lot to learn from a guy that steals money from people and lies through his teeth. And BTW I have been designing knives for other makers for a lot longer than 1 year.

And here is the biggest issue, you keep talking about this waterjet guy screwed you out of your handmade knives (rolls eyes) and how much you care so much for customers and since you don't have parts you will just make fixed blades, but did it ever occur to you that if you did care you would cut the parts out YOURSELF on the damn bandsaw you lying scumbag. You obviously don't care enough to do that, or maybe you can't spot the holes right on your folders. Going over the promise date is one thing, 1-2 years and people asking you for months to years for a refund and you haven't sent it????? GET REAL

I don't know a maker that knows or has dealt with you, they just heard bad things about you. Any maker that is contacting you must want to learn how to do a pyramid scheme.

*AND you continue to have customers post you are NOT taking care of them you lying scumbag, LEARN to READ.

Here is another hole in your story:

You claim a waterjet guy screwed you and you are so gracious you wont bash him (you just did) but why in the hell do you keep using him for 2 years???? How many times did you let him screw you, why does it take 2 years to get folder parts for your "handmade blade", waterjet takes days you idiot.

Everyone knows you love to distract from the issues so let me help you out. You think you are busy? I wasn't born with the ability to steal other people's money like you, I immigrated here when I was 5, taught myself english, worked 4 jobs to put myself through college to earn my mechanical engineering degree. I also worked a full time salaried job while getting my masters and paying off my debts. Here is how my first year of knifemaking went: I had my son who was born premature and I drove twice a day to the hospital to be with him, broke my achilles and had surgery, have a full time salaried job managing a 12 person engineering team, teach college part time all while building my shop and learning how to make knives. Even with all that I have yet to miss on deadline, not even on free knives I was giving away at the beginning.

So I can talk crap to you all I want, I walk the walk. I've never been accused of stealing any money like you, and I am not a complete blowhard liar that is so delusional he CAN'T read what people say about him or the constant request from his customers for a refund.

YOU ARE A POS Liar and that is FACT

You need to start digging up...

YOU ARE A POS Liar and that is FACT

Yes, I'm distracting from the issues, even though I bring them up every time I post.
You've got it all figured out. First of all, we used the Waterjet guy that long because we never had any issues with him before and he always delivered. That time around, it just didn't work out for either of us.

I checked on you're new post. Shocking that I find the same folks there that aren't even my customers, except for one. And Max, (liquid_edge) if you're reading this, I'll get your $100 out to you tomorrow certified mail.

As for knife making, I've put in my time behind a bandsaw. If you think cutting blanks and spotting holes justifies 4-5x more money than I charge then more power to you. We charge what we charge because I know what's in making a knife and whatever guy told you it was okay to have your time, material, consumables, electricity, and 200-300% profit in the cost of a knife is full of it.

You definitely talk as much trash as you want on social media about me, but apparently based on your own posts you do quite a bit of talking behind the scenes. You somehow have 100's of my customers complaining to you and a whole industry of knife makers that are against me. However, I don't get any of that feedback. The negative feedback I do get, when someone requests a refund, or otherwise, I take care of it as fast as I can.

As for another customer waiting 1.5yrs for a refund....yep, that's what happened. Actually they waited 1.5yrs for $100. We refunded him $600 but had to wait for the other $100 to transfer. Instead of going into all the facts as to why he's been waiting for his $100 I'll just tell you what I've already said a billion times. It's our fault it took so long to send him out $100. No matter what the situation, it's still our fault.

Also, just to clarify, so I don't get blamed for using my "silver tougnue" on anyone. I've spelled it out quite a few times now. Things got crazy, things fell through and increased our wait. Ultimately, it's our responsibility to still make sure knives get made and orders get filled. Ultimately, we dropped the ball. We could have done countless things better, but we made mistakes and are still learning from them. And, we're fixing the problems we had.

We were always pretty good about sticking to time frames with the previous thousands of knives we shipped. This time it was different. That doesn't make me a scam artist. Not to mention, more than half of the people I've given a refund to want to buy another knife from me when we get back on track. If you don't believe any of that then go read it for yourself. We alone have over 900 knives pictured on our Instagram page that have shipped over the years. If that doesn't do it for you you can do a search on IG for #nocturnalknives. There are 1195 post from just customers spanning four years there.

One more thing. I've made thousands of knives in my lifetime. "Bandsaw cut" them, forged them, and water jetted them. Even before knife making was what I did for a living (my sole source of income, kind of stupid to risk my sole source of income on what you would have people believe) I made a ton of knives. I only mention that because it's great and all that you've never missed a time frame. I very rarely missed a time frame before this folder run. Only difference is that I deal with many more customers than you. Even if 10 people out of 100 have a problem with Nocturnal then that's 9 more customers than you would have in a month or two.

Let me get this straight before I point out all the holes in your BS. You admit to owing a guy a refund for 1.5years and think it's ok because it wasn't that much (if that is even true). You have posted many times saying you have given everyone that asked a refund but yet more people and even you admit their are more refunds to be had.

The rest of your post is even more BS and fake ass excuses that make no sense. Yeah and I can charge whatever I want for my knives, I always deliver and don't take people's money upfront. I actually make my knives unlike you.

Most the makers have never heard of you except that you are a scammer, I never heard of you until I was directed to this page by people I know that you scammed. Go back and look at how many people have posted on this asking for a refund you clown.

The more you post the mote everyone will know what an idiot and liar you are. You have zero credibility

*P.S. If you've made all these knife by hand in the last and care so much for your customer why in 2 years have you never considered to make the parts yourself to finish your folders?????? Stop the BS
