Not Impressed...

yea , he talks about a different knife then what it says in the title for like half the damn video and then he finally takes out the knife the review is on.

whats with people telling me not to watch him...im not retarded...i dont watch him. I simply wanted some opinions and to discuss something. Realy. your pathetic

My opinion is if you don't like it don't watch it.:cool:Do other peoples opinions hold that much weight with you?

I don't always agree with him but appreciate his efforts and find his reviews to be of value.

I enjoy Nutnfancy a great deal.

I look at his vids as being half information and half entertainment.

Anytime someone is bold enough to inject their own personality into media, art, etc, there are going to be divisive opinions. I give the guy credit for speaking his mind.

I think he's quite funny, actually. I probably wouldn't agree with everything he posts (just a guess - I only watch his knife videos - not the vids with any political message, gun, or gear vids).

From this post it sounds like some folks just plain don't enjoy him; while others seem downright bitter about his success.

Stay on topic here. I am not going to put up with the insults and members telling members to shut up. If you are not able to post with respect regarding the opinions of others it is best not to post at all.

I have watched 3 knife reviews, usually right before I am gonna bid or buy a certain knife that I like the manufacturer, but know little about the model. I listen to what the reviewer says in comparison to features and benefits. I have found the quick reference very useful and a way to make a quick decision as to what my final offer would be in an auction on line. I have alot of respect for someone attempting to review a product honestly-for free. I have little to no respect for someone who wants to harshly critique someone's Youtube amateur fun in the General Forum. I would have had respect for the OP had he phrased his new thread, "Does anyone think Nutnfancy is accurate in his reviews?" I do not, and here is why...... However, there is little objectivity to the criticism, only subjectivity. Saying Nutnfancy thinks he knows it all, is pure subjective commentary. The OP is entitled to his opinions, I just wish he would have posted his thread in whine and cheese.

He's one of the best knife reviewers I've seen on YouTube, in part because he speaks well on camera -- at least compared to other knife reviewers who persist with: "This is... um.. a knife. Um, uh.." The fact that the reviews are often almost as much about him as about the knives could be a turn-off, but for the casual viewer it's fine and breaks up the sterile monotony of robot reviews.

I appreciate ANYONE who takes the time to post up a video discussing a knife that I am potentially interested in. I appreciate them even more if they are objective and (ideally) not employed by anyone in the industry.

If you post up a video with no sound or inane ramblings of any sort, it still may have value visually for those of us that do not have brick and mortar stores near by where we can see knives in hand.

If your audio or video is so unbelievably bad that it surpasses any otherwise redeeming value of your production, I still reserve the right to stop watching freely as does everyone else. Fortunately the search engines typically have a way of sorting out poor quality content from good.

Thanks to anyone producing knife review videos! You never know what some viewers will want to see/hear. As long as you believe in and stand behind what you are saying, it will likely find favor with someone!

I am in the camp of liking cutlerylover's videos

sure they can be all over the place and some can get offtopic a bit but he tends to give an honest opinion and does it without a bunch of fuss or bells and whistles. which to me is what counts.

Being all lolspeak and jumping around and spazzing out just irritates me hence why cutlery lover is appealing hedoesnt come off like a jackass.
I like cutlerylover too because his reviews tend to be more direct than nutnfancy. It doesn't bother me that he lives with his parents and works at the post office (instead of being an uber special forces warrior), I just care about how the knife looks in somebody's hand and his impression about the quality.

I like Nutnfancy. Originally he got on my nerves but I've come to accept his style because he's putting out info in a manner that's hard to find anywhere else. At least he's doing something to promote the right to bear arms and encouraging folks to get out doors. There's nothing even close on Television that I know of. Judge him if you want. While Blunttruth4u and Cutlery lover are good, no one's doing it better than Nutnfancy on Youtube IMO. I don't like all his videos but some are good to excellent.

Amen brother- You are preaching to the choir! :D:p:thumbup:

Well, I happen to like the nutn'. His videos have some good info and he reviews the things and models I seem to like. He is a good speaker at least compared to the other ones that sound depressed or on drugs and unexciting. I've viewed a lot of his videos but not all. Mostly the knife ones and some gun ones. I just don't have that much time to view all his vids.

Do I agree with all his views? No. But his videos are generally well-done. I challenge anyone to make a 10 minute video and see how hard it is to sound knowledgeable and capture the attention of the viewer. He's a good talker. He states his views and never claims to be an expert and often says he's not an expert.

Do I have some complaints about him? Sure I do. He tends to go on and on about his philosophy. His review-type videos are much too long. They are getting up to 30 minutes long. 10 minutes or less is much easier to take. If you can't say everything you need about a single knife or whatever in that time, your talking about other crap that I'd rather not hear.

Agree 100% couldnt have put it better myself...

I like some of Nutnfancy's videos a lot because he gets a lot of detail in there. He can wax loquacious, though, which is annoying, but good for him for taking the time to make the videos. I think he has the time because he's in the Air Force.

The Navy shells the beaches, the Marines storm the beaches, the Army secures the area and builds a barracks, and then the Air Force sleeps in the barracks.

I watch Youtube videos so I can see how well a knife will fit in my hand. I also do listen to them while I multi-task.

I think he's probably very knowledgeable, but I think he focuses far too much on the most absurd things. He complains about ounces worth of weight, as if carrying 2 ounces over his preferred carry weight is going to get him killed. I also think he sometimes steps over his credible line, some of the things he said in his review of the Rex Applegate fighting knife really ticked me off. He also says that axes are worse for chopping than a big ass knife, I just don't understand that, an Axe's weight is all at the end of the handle, so when you swing it, you use very little energy to get a huge amount of momentum and force, but when using a 13" knife you're only getting as much energy from your swing as you put into it.

He's also said a number of things in the past about knife to knife combat, of which seems straight out of an action movie. He basically wants to take a short sword with the largest blade catch possible on the blade.

He puts a lot of good information in his videos but sometimes the opinions he sneaks in there are silly.

I find nuttinfancy's reviews honest and useful. He is clear about why he says what he does about the gear he reviews (his "philosophy"). Yeah, I'd like his videos better if he left alot out and cut the time to less than 5 minutes each. And, I do not always share his "philosophy," but what of it? If you only listen to people with the same point of view as you, you will never learn anything new or interesting.

He is far from perfect, but he's definitely in at least the 90th percentile relative to the competition I've seen on Youtube. His reviews actually have useful info and he is better than most about basing his reviews on reality (i.e., the features and feel of the knives) rather than bias. I'd rather he was more concise but I think his reviews represent quite a useful resource.

I watched one review of a cheap heavy knife I would nevery carry and he was just pumping it up like it was the best thing since sliced bread, that's when I realized his reviews weren't for me. He was comparing it to a knife that is much better IMO and calling the crappier knife better for some trivial reasons.
