Managed to get the bulk of my Fiddleback Family Osage in one place - a few overseas relatives couldn't make it and a few are still en route!

Love how Osage supports so many liner/pinstripe combinations

Jules,
It was good to meet you the other day at the shop. If I knew you were hording these, I would have asked about a trade. A few of those are aging nicely. Great pics sir.

Wow! J, these are some of my favorite pics I've seen. I'm speachless. I bet you really enjoyed toying with that Sirupate yesterday?!

Ohhhh Yeaahh, let's just say it is a monumental grail! Kansas City you say....

Holy Hell Bear, that is a nice nice pile of Osage! Wowwww

This thread keeps getting better and better.

Andy, would it be butt-ugly or taboo to perhaps MIX Osage and Bog Oak? Or maybe that Blackwood Burl that looks stunning from Abe's pictures? Osage with dark (Bog Oak or Blackwood Burl) bolsters ...

Initially I was thinking possibly "butt ugly" with Osage one side and Bog Oak on the other side but the the bolster option occurred to me, which may not be too bad.

I second wood bolsters with wood. Blackwood or ironwood bolsters would be amazing

Well .....had a bit of time today and wanted to see what polished Osage would look like.

Took this up to 1500 grit. The Osage really looks spectacular. Will try & post some better pics in the morning.

That's a very nice BH Brian

Thanks Abe, I think so too. I really like the Osage, if I had the money I'd have a collection of it like Jules does :)

Looking forward to your next pics of your project

The custom shop Keppy showed up and met with the Scotcha treatment :) ( Sanded to 1500 grit )

The light is horrible here. Couldn't capture the true chatoyance.

Here's a couple of half decent shots which I managed when the sun came out. The real beauty cannot be captured in pics as the grain structure appears to change when the handle is moved.

If you cut it right, its gorgeous. If its cut wrong, it looks like a floorboard. This is why I insist on cutting our own. Its nice that we are comfortable using a tablesaw. We've always benefited from being able to cut our own scales.

That looks great Abe! I think you might be on to something with the Scotcha Treatment.
