Curiouser and curiouser, but mostly just sad.

Regarding Mr. Williams:

No. While this is eks' first post, his join date is April 2011.

sammythebull1952 however is Chris Williams according to their shared IP.

This is impossible considering the number of handmade/custom/whatever knives Mr. Williams stated he is making. He simply wouldn't have the time to register a 2nd account simply to smear the owner of this site. I'm sure this is simply an interwebz error that is showing both accounts linked to same IP.

Re Google results-Williams Knife Co. got a lot of hits from earlier press, etc which leads to a higher search ranking. The more it is mentioned here, the higher it will climb in Google search results. So certain hijinks attempted to quell the conversation may actually be pushing it more to the forefront. It would be a shame if it got big enough to be mentioned in his Wikipedia article. Not all press is good press.

At this point, the only effect Chris Williams and his defenders are having on this discussion is to keep it on top of the page.

Oh, Google, Google, Google!
I don't know what to say!
Oh, Google, Google, Google!
This thread won't go away!

I still find it appalling that any non-sockpuppet would defend his actions. Sorry, I just don't understand how it is right to misrepresent your work, especially after you advertise your faith and family and trustworthiness. Will his other defenders defend his use of sockpuppets, as well as his misrepresentation? In simple terms, so I can understand it, please. As for the "none of my business" bit, please give that tired excuse a rest. This is a knife site, dedicated to knives. I think it is everybody's business.

sending the woman to the store for Budweiser and microwave popcorn...just in case this thread gets exciting tonite LOL

I find it hard to believe that he had the time to go to a lawyers office!!! I thought he would very busy grinding blades!

I find it hard to believe that he had the time to go to a lawyers office!!! I thought he would very busy finishing handles

Fixed for accuracy :)

If only he would of came out and admitted it right in the start. Apologized and said he would make sure all his customers were aware of the fact he does no grinding.

All of this would have been avoided, and we would have forgot about this within a week.

Do people in the hole always dig deeper? It seems so counterproductive to attempt to defend the indefensible, but it seems to happen an awful lot, not just here but on all kinds of forums. Someone gets called out, and they attempt the same hijinks, the same deception and red herrings, avoiding answering tough questions, and try to make everything somebody else's fault. It's almost formulaic.

We need a Hall of Blame for these guys:

"I know I lied
but I need money to feed my cat!"

"It's all your fault
for finding me out."

"I know nothing!"

I like the "Hall of Blame." I have to wonder who he will blame if a former customer reads this thread...if they come to certain conclusions, they may be quite angry at having shelled out $200 plus on a mistaken belief in a knife's origin. Or if the publications that provided free publicity decided that they were mislead...well, I can certainly see why this would engender talk of a lawsuit. Just not the one threatened by James V. Parker, esq. A lawsuit would bring a lot of stuff to light, perhaps even things that people would not want publicly broadcast. Not a legal opinion, of course.

Should any of this come to pass, will he blame himself for not being fully honest from the start (if indeed he is not, as that remains unanswered,)or will he attempt to fix the blame on those that asked the questions?

Luckily for frauds the Internet is a big place with enough places to hide and pour more BS on ignorant individuals.

Why they would waste energy confirming their dirtbag status instead of finding their hole is beyond me.
