I have said in the past that they make a good product, and this really is next level. I love this knife.

Definitely the best service I have gotten from any company.

If I am not mistaken, isn't Jared no longer with Quartermaster, and all he did was design some knives for them?

Quartermaster might not be fully transparent, but as I have said before all evidence damning them is anecdotal or circumstantial at best. The knives themselves are well made, and their customer service doesn't mess around. They even massively upped the quality with a minor price increase.

Note that all of that evidence is, again, anecdotal or circumstantial at best.

That bothers me when somebody is wrongfully damned and I am in a position to say something about it.

See I looked into it, and there is only the one shipment manifest from China....

No matter how you look at it, if you remain objective there is no properly damning evidence, just a lot of hearsay and feelings of guilt.

I am just not accepting spotty and circumstantial evidence as fact.

It all comes back to Quartermaster being owned by Jared West, to which there is no proof. There is no proof as to who owns the company, but a lack of transparency isn't a crime.

Quartermaster doesn't make cheap knives, and they are rarely on sale. [Never heard of eBay.]

It's pretty clear they aren't made at their supposed headquarters in Dripping Springs, but to automatically assume China is pretty absurd. They outright say they have satellite facilities. Just because you don't know the location of said facilities does not mean they are definitely in China.

None of the evidence here stands on its own, and if you disconnect the lynch pin of Jared West the entire argument falls apart. Jared West, of course, has no proven position with Quartermaster aside from being a designer [except his being the only principal of record and sole agent of record for the company that owns QTRM5TR].

Next we have the [identical Chinese] bearings. Actual circumstantial evidence, but easily explained [to my satisfaction].

When they aren't transparent, we don't know how they produce, it could be in the back of 2,000 always moving buses, or on a well hidden Quartermaster zeppelin. Suspicious, not damning.

My statement still stands, some of the knockoffs are quality exceeding Taiwan or US made products, yet they are well under half the price. In many cases well under 25% the original cost with still decent materials. Anything aside from sanctimonious drivel to say in response?

A bit ludicrous to think that a company with such a prolific and polarizing presence operating for 4 years could be blatantly breaking numerous laws without a single police or federal check. [Why that would be like people shipping automatic knives across state lines - never happen.]

If Warren doesn't care too much about his design, why should [w]e bother?

Some [eight so far] shipments that are unlikely to account for all knives sold over years, [and I know from "direct evidence" how many that is. Jared says the brand is known all over the world.]

I don't know or care about the factory. I don't question the authenticity of everything, if it says it is something I am not self important enough to contradict that unless I need to. Knife is well made, price is good, I didn't care to look a gift horse in the mouth.

I know some have said this person is not a shill, but 27 pages and counting of praising a worthless piece of trash has to change your mind. In the face of insurmountable evidence, dkb45 continues to spout the same tired script and "defend" the indefensible. jared west knows he can't send the same idiots from the mantis debacle, so shills like this come in to trump up chinese trash without crossing the line that would make it obvious like last time. Unless it is in fact mr. west himself which would make it all the better, I'm going with paid in some fashion SHILL.

Yeah that's the building (now obviously house). It definitely looked bigger on Google maps. Not quite sure where a factory would fit in there, though. Maybe they have 25th century replicator machines? Still not proven 100% to be fake, only a mere 99.99%.
 
Contact QM off their website. We did and they're gonna tell you they can't be bothered proving a thing, just like they did us.
 
A simple compendium of what we have concerning Quartermaster in a single place and not scattered over dozens of pages wouldn't be a terrible idea. I am nowhere near a master of Google, so the majority of this information either got bruied in the threads, only to be forgotten, or hard as hell to search for. I stand corrected, however. Quartermaster seems to be almost without a doubt below board. Best case for them, they are lying about a fair amount of information to look cool (museum, clean room, actual address). Worst case scenario, they are clearly scamming, but for some reason making decent knives (when just being above board would have given them an acceptable reputation as a smaller company). Either way, they are multiple kinds of suck, and I let me enjoyment of the designs clearly cloud my judgement. I still stand behind liking the designs, and if they were made from a less crap source I would buy them, but my new Mr Roper will be my last Quartermaster.

No im sure in a few months you'll have new reviews of this awesome new qtrmstr knife thats super duper usa made for real this time in the new factory thats totally legit everybody!

Just a random observation for whatever it's worth: I doubt that a high end residence in a toney suburb of Austin would be zoned for a factory. A 3 story knife museum maybe, but not a factory.

Someone could check the zoning or look into the neighborhood association's regulations, but it seems like pointless overkill at this point. I'm sure Jared will be along soon enough to clear up any misunderstandings. If not, I hear that their Instagram is pretty open & responsive.

Congrats, finally the OP admits Quartermaster Knives is a scam ! What really bothers me though is all the OTHERWISE reputable Knife Dealers that ADVERTISE the LIES and continue to sell Quartermaster Knives to their loyal customers, making more victims of this SCAM !!!
