Curious....been reading the USA Made BS about QM for a long time.

Why have they not been busted? Do you think that maybe they are made in the US? I mean the constant flag waving anger peeps had to of notified someone in the gov to look at them. Why has nothing happened yet?

And they are just a knife company....they are not killing baby elephants....So who the ef cares.

Not you, obviously.

Try this: as he lies about where they are made and the name of the company and has previously been caught lying about the steel used in his other brand, just why should any of us believe anything Jared says about his company's knives?

Laughing my ass off reading that last line, good show and I'll be sure to keep an eye on New Graham for any future purchases.

I would love to vett you....I bet you are all Mother Teresa like......

This subject seems to rub a lot of us the wrong way......you be you.
They have been lying for years, if you like their stuff and want to deal with a company that lies about where they're produced, buy it.......
Because that's the only lie they're telling right?? They would never lie about blade steel or other materials right??

First of all I'd like to say that I don't want to get involved in this controversy, any more than I am.

I'm not sure what to say. I don't have any insider information that can confirm or deny any of the allegations.

I can say that we originally licensed the E.T. design to Quartermaster before all of the controversy started. And all we did was license the original mechanism, and haven't been involved in the design process since. The comment below mentions 3 projects, but in our mind, we have done one project with them, and they have continued to run with the mechanism. Which they are allowed to do according to the contract.

I have not personally seen a factory, but I have not been to Texas since Jared moved there.

This isn't gonna turn out the way you're hoping it will.

How do you think I want it to turn out? I have been here long enough and been through quite a few of these QM threads.

They all turn out the same. Hate built on conjecture....

"A Man's Word is his Bond"
I could see the QM Honcho getting mad at anyone even asking, EXCEPT for the fact his Bond has been proven worthless in the past. HE knows that, everyone knows that, AND he knows that everyone knows. That being said, you want trust back after YOU mess up? Expect to earn it. I would take a ten minute youtube video, if that long, to fix this whole thing and have something you could send ANYWHERE. Walk out of the "factory" and find an armadillo. I'd buy that.

I've never owned any of Quartermaster's knives, thanks to a GBU thread that had quite a bit of controversial information posted in it:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1180036-Quartermaster-Knives-has-explaining-to-do

BTW: has anyone here heard from BF member, treeshaker? He had some serious health issues and quite awhile back, then went MIA. I remember speaking with RB, and him venting on how upset he was having purchased 3 QM knives.

FWIW: I have zero interest in QM knives...in fact you couldn't give me one! :thumbdn:

Only conjecture is who in China makes Jared's knives.

Fanboys gonna' love.

Not a fan, but since they clearly say on their site that they are 100% made in the US and you believe that to be false. .....then you should give the FTC a call and report them.

Until there is action by the FTC either way, these threads are just a merry go round of babble.

^ I love that quote! :D

Happy New Year, Screwdriver. I actually had a couple of screwdriver's last night...with a splash of cranberry juice.

What I find interesting, is the fact that these stories have been going around for years...and there is no new evidence.

Well, except for the facts that Quartermaster has claimed to have a manufacturing facility at an address we've proven is a single family home, they've shown pictures of 'their' equipment that is identical, right down to the spots and stains, as pictures posted by WE knives in China and their parent company has recieved at least one 800kg shipment of Chinese knives.

But other than all that, and I'm guessing a few other bits I forgot to include, definitely just babble and he said she said. Totally.

Well you obviously don't but many do. I am in no way a hater of Chinese knives. In fact only two of my knives are USA made and the rest are Chinese. The problem with what Quartermaster is doing is that they are flat out lying to its customers. They claim to be 100% machined and made in the usa of usa sourced parts yet have a Chinese bearing system found in several higher end Chinese brands. Combine that with all the other evidence out there on the brand and they are surely lying to people. If they were honest about where their stuff is made and said china most people would not have a problem with it. I'm sure they would lose a couple customers who only want USA made. But they would probably gain more customers who refuse to buy from dishonest companies. You elephant comment is pretty trivial considering this is not an elephant forum. Its a knife forum. And people here care about knives and want the companies they spend their money with to be honest and open about how their products are made. I dont mind Chinese knives. I dont even mind clone knives. But when a company is charging USA made prices and claiming to be made in the USA when they aren't they should be held accountable. You can always use the argument that their are worse issues as things can always be worse. But that isn't the point. The point is they are screwing knife fans. And this being a knife forum its relevant and important to many.
