Ritter MK1 in CPM M4

Mine is good, and so is the one my older son got. I did ask about that when I talked to AeroMedix about my order. Early on, they were apparently assuming that Bnechmade had QC'd all the knives and were shipping them as received. After a few early reports of off-center blades, they started checking themselves before shipping to buyers. They told me that they believe that the knives shown on websites were all/mostly knives shipped before AeroMedix started doing their own QC check.

Short version: if you order now, you should be fine.

it's good to see that AeroMedix is taking the first step TO make sure all the grips going out now are good. atleast their QC is good.

I called them today and asked if they could check the knife b4 sending it out. an off centered blade is unacceptable. Atleast i know they will be checking it and i will be getting a good one.

I think that's why it's taking so long to get the rest of the knives.. because there was QC issues and they were all sent back. Now their waiting on new ones to come in.

Basically, you open the blade, put the side of the tip on a table, hold the handle with one hand and put a lot of pressure on the pivot with the other hand in the direction that would seem, intuitively, to make things worse. But it makes it better. My blade is now centered
.

Do you care to elaborate on this at all. Do you push the blade  with the pivot loose and then re-tighten? I know there's tricks to center the Spyderco Military and a few of their linerlocks. Doug said there are no tricks on his Ritter Grips. I expected that he'd say to try and swap the bushings or something like that, but no, was what he said. Thanks. :)

just got mine today
blade is slightly off center, which irritates me a little, and the coating doesnt seem that even, its glossy because i put on a layer of tuff cloth

I got mine. Number 48 and the blade is centered. I don't know if they've changed the handle but this one seems a little different than the small griptilians that I rembemer. I could be wrong because it's been a while since I last carried one.

Nice blade and sorry to hear about the alignment.

I had the same issue. But someone here once posted a fix to an off-centered blade that has always worked for me. Basically, you open the blade, put the side of the tip on a table, hold the handle with one hand and put a lot of pressure on the pivot with the other hand in the direction that would seem, intuitively, to make things worse. But it makes it better. My blade is now centered.

Twindog's solution worked for me. I centered my Ritter and Pardue large Grips. I couldn't tell which way he meant to push the blade but I tried both ways (pivot loosened) until I saw the centering happen, then tightened the pivot - voila!

Here's 2 of 'em I did - the handle isn't completely flat and they rock a little, so the angle looks off a bit but they're dead straight. Notice the points and you'll see they're both in the middle. :)

Handles should be exactly the same.

They've been shipping for the last two weeks or something... The site says there are only a few remaining, I'd order one soon.

I am still waiting on mine from the second batch. They told me probably about the first week of May.

There is a thread at Benchmade forums that indicates that Benchmade may be changing from one material to another. Some colors used to be a different material. It's possible that's what he's got - hard to tell.

Yea that's possible. I thought he was referring to size, shape, etc.

When comparing my H2O Grip and my M4 Ritter Grip, the two handles do feel slightly different. The Ritter doesn't seem to be quite as hollow feeling.

It felt grippier like it had a rougher texture but it could just be all in my head. When I have some time I'll dig up my older grips and double check.

i am waiting for mine , eric is good people to deal with and responds quick to emails, i can't wait to see this one:thumbup::D

They told me the second batch was already delivered and the one I ordered last week, #209 was from it. I am a bit confused.

yea this makes no sense. i emailed them and they told me they had no clue when benchmade was sending them.. they said check back in a week or 2. i'm starting to get really iffy about this.

on top of that it seems from the first batch a lot of people had problems with their knives. http://benchmadeforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/638106573/m/892102657

I was told two different times that it would be here at the end of the week, both times a week apart. I gave up and canceled my order.

I got an earlier one and sent it back. I was told the one I have now was from the second batch. It is going back to benchmade as the axis lock is a little sticky and I want the blade a little more centered, but it isn't that bad. I am however dissapointed with the coating as it isn't really stonewashed and doesn't look like the pic on the website.....not even close. The website makes it look like a stonewashed version of how Kershaw does their DLC.
