SALE ISSUE - KNIFE NOT RECEIVED

The original shipping receipt is a piece of paper that I'll happily pdf and email to him. He's the one who claims a loss; not me. He can also get a duplicate receipt printed out at any post office in the US with the tracking number, which he has.
I am in Canada at the moment and it is your responsibility to deal with that. Go to your Post Office and explain them the situation if your version is the true one. You probably know that making false insurance claims to USPS is illegal? Is it why you don't want to do the claim? You know you're BSing and you don't want to take the risk of being prosecuted?

It makes no sense that the buyer didn’t turn down the package when he picked it up. Bubble mailer or not it should have ended there. Took a picture of empty package at pick up and notified seller.

Seller should have packaged more substantially but this all makes no sense after the buyer expounded further on the incident. Why pick up and accept an empty package?
I'm not sure to understand what you are saying. If I go pick up my mail at border Mail Depot I don't have the choice to accept it or not. It's there in the mailbox. The USPS system shows "delivered". I cannot run the the mailman and tell him to pick the letter back.

I took pictures during the whole process and I was constantly contact the seller on BF, Gmail and eBay. He ignored me for days....

You used a third party. And yes you absolutely can deny a package.

I just saw that the buyer wants me suspended. When's he going to explain the discrepancies in his story.
There are no discrepancies in my story. I send you 230$ and you sent me an empty envelope. The only alleged "proof" that you actually shipped a knife is a sticker with 10oz written on it. There are no pictures of the package before shipping. No responses for days after delivery. Still now you are incredibly uncooperative to try to fix the issue.

Personally, I believe that you knew from the beginning that you were going to scam me. You purposely ask me to go outside of eBay to BF to make your scam easy. You also knew that me being Canadian would make it more complicated for me to make claims. You probably expect that the BF community will back you up because you have been here for a while and I am a newbie.

Give me my money back!

Thanks for your input. I'm in agreement with everything that you say. I'm Canadian and I use Border Mail Depot in the State of New York all the time. I never had any issues with them. I picked up 8 other packages without issues on the same day the "Busse envelope" arrived. Obviously I cannot eliminate the possibility that a new employee opened the envelope but the window of action would be pretty small.

Hmmm. So did you pick it up from your mail Box or from border mail depot? I’m so confused. Good luck to all in this mess.

Don’t use drop shippers without notifying seller.

Sellers, don’t ship in envelopes.

This right here says everything anyone needs to know about the seller.

I pick it up from Border Mail Depot. Someone is receiving the mail for me in the States from USPS. They won't turn down packages. Border Mail Depot will just pick up everything. You understand?

Then I just go pick my packages there. The clerk just hand them to me.

It blows my mind in this day and age people still believe a bubble envelope is adequate for mailing anything other than flat paper. Please learn from this experience. Neither party is happy with the results. Don’t let this happen to yourselves or your buyers/traders. Boxes with tape are cheap but valuable insurance towards successful transactions.
This!

Agree with that but nothing the buyer is saying makes much sense either. And the “fake shipping label” thing is nonsense. Those are legit labels.
You can easily generate legit shipping labels with weight on them without putting stuff in the envelope or the box. It's not that hard and I don't understand why I have to explain that.

if the shipping label a pre-paid label created from home they can make the weight to whatever they want, it doesnt mean its the actual weight,
the weight is only accurate if you purchase and ship package at the post office

Exactly! Thank you! It is super easy to produce and it doesn't prove anything.

The seller has made multiple mistakes and taken the wrong approach to rectify this situation as the seller, that’s clear, but being a member since 2017 with 54 positive feedback and 0 negative feedback makes it HIGHLY UNLIKELY he decided to throw away his 8 year perfect reputation for $250 all of a sudden. The buyer needs to chill out on claiming he’s a scammer and possibly generated a fake label or anything else associated with scamming unless there is direct proof. Done with this thread.

Oh I see! So no pressure at all on the seller to rectify the situation? No reimbursement, even partial? He has 54 positive reviews so everything's cool?

I think I would have raised absolute hell at the depot where an empty envelope was sitting that had my knife in it and refused the empty package.

I can’t believe dude shipped your knife in an envelope. I’m 100% in agreement with you there. This is on him but I don’t think he deliberately scammed you. Somebody stole your knife in transit.

Thanks for your input.

I would be more inclined to believe your version if the seller was more responsive and proactive. Honest people are usually very keen to take action to make sure that a deal goes smoothly. I had to message him several times throughout different platforms to finally have an answer days after. Even then he doesn't seem to want to do anything to solve the situation.

If the roles were reversed you can be sure that I would have taken my responsibilities and be open and proactive.

I Know that most of you think that I am jumping to conclusions and you are all blinded by the 54 positive reviews that he has or something but honestly, take a step back and look at the situation. He is not acting in an upfront and proactive manner at all. That is very suspicious to me and it should be to you as well.

The buyer says I should have mailed in a box instead of an envelope. I have never received any used Busse knives I bought on blade forums in a box - always an envelope.
My post office clerks won't put postage on a package until it's turned over to them to mail, and they don't give the package back to the shipper to mail.
I mailed him everything. Why aren't we considering the possibility that the buyer is the scammer and is just suffering from buyer's remorse.
doesnt make sense if the buyer was a scammer, he would just bought it off of you on ebay, and claim through ebay you sent him an empty envolope way easier...

i hope best case snario, the knife was stolen while in transit.

Maybe I’m alone but I’m in the bubble mailer doesn’t bother me camp.

However, It all depends on how the item is packaged within the bubble mailer. You can’t just throw a loose item in the mailer. It needs to be wrapped in something protective and securely.

For what it’s worth, I’ve only ever had an item stolen out of a box, never out of a mailer.
