SCAMMED out of Microtech on trade by lazy otter - Nick Reynolds, Richmond VA

Don't let him off the hook, though.
Mail fraud is mail fraud. If he doesn't learn a hard lesson from this he's going to scam someone else, guaranteed.

That is a very classy move by Microtech.:thumbup:
Too bad somebody other than he who is responsible had to make the OP whole in this mess but still great that there is balance on the OP's side.
Hope the creep thief feels the energy of this thread every time he looks at the knife he stole or whatever it is he got for it.

Yes. There is good news in all of this after all. =)

I am also a member of two big Microtech groups on Facebook and I shared this story there at the same time I posted it here.

Well something amazing happened! Anthony L. Marfione posted a comment on my post that he would like to help.
We got in touch and he asked me for my address and said that he wanted to ship me a replacement knife!
He wanted me to focus my energy on my daily life instead of using my energy to after the scammer.

How amazing is that? I absolutely had no words, but Thank you!

Anthony if you ever read this, I have a great respect for you as person. You have a big heart!

I am honored to have few of your knifes and you have a follower for life!

Today I get this pretty box delivered to me by UPS man!

It was shipped Overnight! I open it and inside is long sleeve Microtech t-shirt and BRAND NEW Socom Delta in Red with My Name engraved on it!
Socom Delta happens to be my absolute favorite knife from Microtech Knives.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Wow Seattle Dude, you've got to be on Cloud Nine right now. What an emotional rollercoaster. Everyone that's ever been scammed, cheated, or stolen from is very happy for you right now because we know how low you can feel.

Mr. Marfione is a CLASS ACT, and I wish him all the continued success with his company.

My feelings about LO's behavior can't be expressed in a civil manner, so I'll pass.

Good on Microtech.

I still wanna see otter burn.

If he shows up on any of the other forums I frequent I will call him out before he gets his introduction posted.

Trade you my imaginary Hinderer for your Microtech ;)
(Too soon?)

Seriously, congrats. You handled this situation with more grace than most would, and it seems you were rewarded.

No, that is part of what really makes the situation all the worse.

There is, or was at one point, an actual Hinderer, which apparently, Lazy Otter scammed from another good hearted member, and kept for him self.

He may have already sold it off for cash, or traded it.

Hopefully we can post up his real name, and all of his known aliases, and alert everyone on every single forum he likes to lurk in.

He does love to hang out in the Busse forum, and we need to warn them. Especially those he was planning on meeting up with (I can imagine how that sticky finger fracas would play out.........Hey Lazy Otter, you seen that rare old school Busse I set down here? ... Lazy otter: "Nope, I'll help you look for it........You must have dropped it in the woods......"

And you will recognize him behind his new User Name?

This is the dilemma that I have in my head. Perhaps a ban from doing any exchange deals would be effective? A thought that was brought up earlier in this thread: the Mods have put banners below peoples names before warning us not to do business with the proven crook. This time, make it permanent.

With lazy otters shady past and others coming forward saying that they were also scammed by this guy, I very much hope that the Mods will take any and all measures they can to ensure that none of us will ever be taken advantage of by lazyotter again.

Wonderful gesture on the part of Microtech!!! There is good that comes to honest people.

Otter, you are a scamming Thief POS who wants folks to believe you are some Hero Veteran wounded in action. You were probably over in Iraq/Afghanistan as a truck driver and bumped your head falling drunk out of the drivers seat. You may not have uttered the words "I am a soldier" but you sure worded what you said to give that impression. You never started a conversation by saying "I was over in Iraq/Afghanistan as a Private contractor (insert mindless task here)" and you claimed to be injured in such a manner that the only thing one could conclude is that you were injured as a soldier.

Otter, you not only steal property but also Valor......................................................

Except, how do we know LO really ever received that Hinderer? Other than because he said so? (He's already proven himself a liar) I read the couple threads where he was trying to get one for pity, then suddenly had one gifted to him (but no pics, eh?). Maybe it was part of some evolving plan? He could have made it up as trade bait.

I'm not trying to argue, just thinking out loud.
And I'm usually not one to cast aspersions, but LO kind of invites that with his behavior.

outstanding!!!!!!!! :D

Also. A few more things. Lazy Otter clearly states he's unemployed in a previous GBU thread. Supposedly this is from some injury sustained during his alluded to "contractor work" (because he knows he can be prosecuted these days for Stolen Valor, which i'm sure was part of his previous repetoire, so now he's a Civilian Contractor Who Cannot Discuss Details But it May or may NOT be Possible He's a Government Black OPS/CIA Spook). I'd place my money on the fact that he may indeed be disabled, like all sorts of others on SSI-SSD. We know from that thread he lives in a "bad part of town". (think Section 8 or public housing), which would fit what we know and these deductions perfectly. His previous trades have either been slow, called off, have other disturbing issues, or just plain broke bad as of late. Another reply here proffered drug use, which I also find would be likely. Fact is, this fella thinks he's smarter than everyone else, has and will lie to scam-- on more than one occasion. Log his IP and Ban this guy.

I said this earlier in the thread but I have warned them in the Busse forum and in that thread specifically. The guy who was going to give him a ride was glad for the heads up. If LO tried any of this crap face to face with some of those Busse guys I don't imagine it would have ended well for him.

That's probably so close to what he had planned it's scary.

Sure happy about two things, at least.
Microtech showed what a great company they are...in sending SeattleDude a new folder.
BF has an ignore list, which Lazy Otter
just joined...

Serious classiness from MT!!
Go cut tons of stuff with that beauty......it's extremely therapeutic!!!
