Scrap Yard 511 (SYKCO 511) - did you get one?

Just canceled my order. Waste of time. Guess I stick with Esee, Swamp Rat and the like!

Swamprat works pretty much the same as the Yard. If you dont like waiting for a knife you best not get into Bussekin unless you want to pay inflated prices on second hand blades. The RMD is the only knife I have seen in the Swamp that is planned on being a regular offering, pretty much everything else, to my knowledge, is always a limited offer. Unless brought into circulation again.

Impatient people really get to me, its worth the short wait with these knives stop crying about it. Take your complaints elsewhere because I think I speak for us all here in the bussekin ring, we don't care to here it!

+1 The knives are worth the wait. And if you dont like it thats fine it leaves more steel for us!

NOOOOO!!

They're worth the wait, Promise :) Plus swamp rat works pretty much the same, and Esee knives are always selling out so you usually have to wait for them too...

no complaints here, but I already bought the war dog and I need the 911 to come out so I can spend money on that instead of buying another 5 inch blade. There's only so many times I can look at there sight without buying the 511

I'm part of the txting/instant everything generation, Im typing this from my iPhone :)
I've never had a problem waiting for any of my preorders... I guess I don't find patience to be a virtue of any demographic, if anybody doesn't like how it works then they can make their own adult decisions... Theyre just gonna be the ones missing out later :)

I'm patient.
I'm still waiting on some customs I ordered for more than a year.
I'm also daily checking on updates on the Rasul (Kniferesearch) since I heard about it for about 8 months now.
The problem isn't waiting, the problem is it is nowhere indicated it's a preorder when you buy one.
That's wrong.

Some people would even use the word misleading ( I don't)

Take your complaints elsewhere

So he may not communicate his grieves about a bussekin order system on a bussekin forum ?????

If you buy on European websites you can access a full page of the terms and conditions and one about the privacy policy.
It's kinda of strange not to see this on the Scrapyard site, probably just a case of cultural differences ;)

Anyway, eagerly awaiting the sykco 511.

Well said
That does appear to be the case; I think the busse group forget from time to time that there are plenty of people who are unfamiliar with their ordering process :)

As for any body wanting to show up and state their opinion, this "forum" is in fact the place to do so :) nobody should have to leave because they disagree or are unhappy about something...

I ordered one right away also. SR101 is Awesome, and the price is right:cool::thumbup:

Impatient people annoy you? Lazy people and misleading descriptions annoy me. Nowhere in the checkout process does it say the knife is a preorder. I ordered thinking I would get the knife in a week. Not 16 weeks. How hard is it to type PREORDER on the description page?

This is a tempting deal, but I'm trying to figure out if I'd prefer this or an RMD. Plus, funds are low and I figure by the time they're replenished this deal will be gone.

On a side note about ordering: I left for vacation mid May pondering a SRKW RMD as my first Busse-kin knife. When I got back, they were sold out. Just a day or two later, I heard about the SYKCO War Dog. (Different shape, INFI steel, more $$$.) I placed an order, figuring, with the bussekin ordering plan, I'd see the blade in 2-6 months. My CC was charged 2 days later, and I had the knife in hand in just over a week. Needless to say, I was thrilled - but I was also perfectly happy to wait. Unless I've got a big trip/use coming up, I'm always happy to wait for what I want instead of settling for something less. What really shocked me was that a week after I got the War Dog, I saw that the RMD is going on a mostly-in-stock plan. How awesome is that? I also love the tanker grey/tan, but figure they'll change colors before I'm ready to order. But that's okay, too.

Obviously, you should follow your heart and choose the product/company/service that best suits your needs and desires.

You're not the first to complain about the way the Fabulous Busse Brothers do business and you won't be the last. But in the final analysis, the ONLY thing you will accomplish by not buying Bussekin knives is cutting off your nose to spite your face. Mike Stewart said it best. Jerry Busse makes some of the toughest knives on the planet. If you want to own them at factory pricing, you're going to have to go through what the rest of us went through and find out how things actually work around here.

Well said! It can be frustrating not getting what you want as soon as you want it.. but think of it as ordering a semi-custom item - then the wait time appears to be kinda average.
And rest assured that what you waited for is QUALITY:thumbup:

azwelke, glad to see you have ordered one, I will place my order for one of your sheaths after my 511 arrives. I think they should have used your sheath for the Scrapivore.
