Coop, you forgot this one (already shown in another thread, but has to be here too) :

By the way, I recommend this excellent DVD by SR Johnson about making a sub hilt :

This thread has far exceeded my expectations. What a grand display of artistry! I'm looking with lust at so many of them.

Coop, that Ce Sun is like nothing I've ever seen before. Fantastic piece! Don't hold back if ya got more. It's not a "clog" by any means at this point.

Dawkind, love the clean lines and detail on your knife. Who is the maker?

To all who posted, a profound Domo Arigato, Gracias, Merci....damn, out of languages.

I'll just use English, Thank You....and American, Thanks Much Y'all.

Here are 5 more sub hilt fighters. The first three are fairly conventional, and should show STeven that I do make "normal" sub hilts. The last two are my integral sub hilts, which I know are his favorites! ;)
1. A modified B3SHF with 8" blade and lugged guard. The handle is maidou burl.
2. A standard B3SHF with 7 1/2" blade and no lugs on the guard. This one has a handle of box elder burl with red spalting.
3. Two sub hilts with dagger blades.
4. An integral sub hilt with damascus blade and bronze fittings with structured texturing and light heat coloring. I believe the handle is jarrah burl.
5. The original integral SHF made for Coop. Blade is 154cm, handle is walnut, and fittings are blued steel with engraving by Ray Cover. I've made several variations of this knife, including BillF's and the gargoyle themed model shown earlier.

David

Edit: Sorry, that second B3SHF is not standard. It has lugs. It helps when I put on my bifocals!

I'm a big fan of sub-hilts but only have 1 at this time. This is a 5 1/2 blade SH Chute by Bill Ankrom.
