Signalprick/JWRitchie Knives Slipjoint Recovers, Mods and WIPS

Just finished up this GEC 71 Bull Nose. This one was converted into a lightweight (linerless) and covered in a vintage rag micarta from Brent Cramer. The black g10 liners are mill relieved. No shield per the customers request. Thia is just some of the most beautiful phenolic IMO. This one really turned out great if I do say so myself. Thanks for taking a look!

Fantastic rag on the 71 Jason. It almost looks like a type of burl wood.

Following up on that special lightweight #71 mod. I'm the lucky owner!

Signalprick Signalprick (JW Ritchie) was super kind and easy to work with. This knife is really fantastic. Perfectly lightweight, expertly finished, excellent walk and talk. All around class until I put it to work, and then its Sodbuster roots started showing and it ripped through a ton of reinforced boxes with ease. Anyone who looks down on a well-built linerless knife has never really tried it. I'm hooked. Great knife from a great dude.

Many thanks Mike. It was a pleasure to build for you. That rag is some of my favorite material ever. May she serve you in the best of health sir!

Finished up a PJ pocket carver from the Case barlow pen blade. They make for a perfect pair!

Turning my attention to a Case CV Sowbelly build. Had this one in my head for a bit. I'm making my first set of SS liners for it. Gonna cover it in a vintage brown micarta with a corset shield.

Here is a Case CV Sowbelly build I just completed. I made custom SS liners for this knife. Recovered it in vintage brown canvas micarta. Pinned SS corset shield and all ss hardware. She is really a gorgeous knife if I do say so myself. As most of you know with the sowbelly pattern and with this one being contoured and customized, it feels amazing in hand! I'll post some additional build pics later Thanks for taking a look!

Huh, not sure why I didn’t know that already. Is it because they need more flexibility rather than hardness? Thanks!
I'm not sure honestly but I am unaware of any maker custom or production that would ht the liners. Ideally there would be no need to flex because everything is nearly perfect flat. That and I'm not certain the 304, 410, 416 and that like of SS even needs or can be heat treated?

For this week I'm working on a GEC 78. This one is getting a blade delete turned into a PJ Pants Pocket Carver. The main will be recovered in fordite. A little slow going this week, I finally got my new mini mill picked up and moved into my basement shop. It is about 100x's heavier than it looks!
