BigMark this has to be one of the most surprising and seriously questionable posts from your keyboard I have ever seen! I gotta tell ya I am surprised to know where some of you guys are in your hearts on issues like this. My father would roll over in his grave if I spoke the same way as some of you have regarding how little you care about these kind of slaps in the face to honored veterans.

And here it is almost 2008 and before this thread began, I thought I made some of the dumbest posts ever made at BF....of course the vast majority of those were made in jest in W&C or the Cove. I'm sitting here realizing that bigmark has now surpassed me and has made some of the dumbest posts I have ever read anywhere, ever...... AND he's serious....scary stuff, very scary!

I have the article in my lap as I post this. It was Duane himself that was interviewed by W. W. Wright.
 
I do not have all the issues that followed the May 1999 Tactical Knives that the article on Duane Dwyer appeared in. If someone out there has an issue that has a retraction, could you please let me know what month it appears in.

I own no Strider knives, I've never met any of the Strider guys, and it doesn't matter to me either way on how this turns out. If it turns out they lied, I'll file them away among the list of people I have no interest in, and will likely never purchase anything from them. If it turns out they are exonerated and all claims and accusations are shown to be false, then I'll file them away as probably decent guys who had some mud thrown at them.

I have no firsthand knowledge of any of the accusations, the accusers, or the accused. Nor do I have any firsthand information about POWnetworks, or the legitimacy of the information they post.. As such, I'll retain my distance from that part of the discussion.

However, my day job is in computer systems and network administration. I've been doing it for a long time, and I'm quite good at it. Your quoted comment above shows a remarkable level of ignorance with regards to how servers, networks, and the World Wide Web works. You are obviously speculating about things that you know nothing about, and doing so without anywhere near enough information to make even an educated guess.

I can personally think of numerous situations, depending on the specifics of the hosting or services provider that POWnetwork is using, that could very logically account for the problems that have occured accessing documents. None of them are nefarious, retarted, or "shite", as you put it. This kind of thing happens quite frequently in the real world. I've gotten plenty of 3am phone calls myself trying to resolve issues that aren't all that different.

So, unless you have some actual facts about what happened with POWnetworks and the accessibility of the documents, you should keep your speculation to yourself. As for your silly comments about identity, you're welcome to note that every post I make contains my full name. Feel free to google that to find out as much as you want about me. My address and contract information are fairely widely posted across the net.

pretty sure that strider knives is not ficticious. in fact, i have called and talked to people in the shop, so i am fairly certain they are real people and the company is a real entity.

Say it ain't so, no conspiracy, situation normal, This does not fit the Strider storyline where they are being hunted down like brightly painted easter eggs on a putting green by evil children who use cute user names to comment on public forums about who does and does not tell lies in the real world.

My only knowledge about computers is the use of and my knowledge of servers is limited to those that work at Hooters so excuse my ignorance, but;

How is it that only one very small document is the only one that fails to laod and would a computer geek type get a 0300 call to fix such an error?

My limited knowledge causes me some difficulty so I must defer to you experts to explain how this happens and what they had to do in order to get this one small document to load. I am not that naive to have ever thought it would never load again, I am simply suspicious that it was "pulled" until they had a chance to make certain all their "facts" were factual. I never once believed it was a conspiracy, I honesty don't know exactly why it happened and thats why I wrote what I wrote.

Oh, and "talking" to Duane face to face at a knife show remining peaceful?? Not if what I read about him rings any truth but then again.............................

Why not just shut us the FU by simply printing a sentence or two that is uncontroverted that Duane was in fact an attendee to a USMC sniper school and is not and never was "Tom Poland"? That seems easy and does not require a face to face at a show and might result in a zillion apologies and a knife purchase.

Maybe that "LEAVE BRITTANY ALONE!!!!" moron can do a "LEAVE DUANE ALONE" video on you tube and be a star again.

All Businesses and company's are fictitious entities for financial purposes. They are organizational fronts for individuals or groups.

Business's have no Moral values or ethics. They will do what they CAN do to make money, their purpose is singular. Make money for the owners.

They are bound by law and little else. Sometimes not even law, if there is no enforcement body interested in their activities.
