This cracks me up. All the years these people have been in business, and they still don’t know how much sheaths cost, or how long it takes to machine handles, or that they should have all these things nailed down before production ever starts. Of course it’s entirely likely that production hasn’t actually started yet (or ever will). I can’t believe anybody actually still gives these people their money.EDC-2
From Survives own Instagram post: "These should be available in a couple of months. They'll be done and ready to ship when they are made available. We should have pricing shortly. We just need to nail down a few things like sheath cost and handle machining times."
Over two years later, I had to threaten to sue for fraud to get my refund and that was back mid-summer.
Just curious, anyone seen a EDC-2 in the wild?
I hope I meet Guy late at night in a dark alley; so, I can congratulate him on his impeccable quality standards.
(checks in, sees S?K doing the same garbage they've been doing for a decade now, and dips out).
Accurate!I mean... at least they are consistent. Right?![]()

None of those customers showed up at the facility for the cage match so default wins to Guy & Shane.I remember in 2021 when Guy and Shane said they were going to "fight" with customers that wanted a refund because all outstanding orders would be shipped by the end of the year. 18 months later, there are still A LOT of outstanding orders, some from 2015.
Do these knives hold up as well as people like DBK say they do? Or on principle is it worth selling and getting a CPK?
I can't speak to the former question - I never owned any long enough to put through the ringer. I'm sure they are just fine.
That said, as a matter of principle, I moved them along so to answer you second question, I'd sell it and look into getting a CPK. Honest folks that make a hell of a knife - plus they use the Delta protocol on their 3V, which Survive!, for silly reasons, opted to discontinue.
I have gotten 2 CPK’s in the last 3 months at no mark up in price. They are amazing knives with fantastic people building them. I hope you won’t give up on getting one.Everyone in this forum says to get a CPK ignoring the fact they're damn near impossible to actually get without paying $100 over MSRP for one second hand. Would love one but sadly will probably never own one since I just don't have the energy to wait until they're running the model of knife I want and then to wait for exactly the right time on a Friday to probably be out commented by a bot.
Ambush one on the For Sale forum here is how I've gotten mine. And I paid less than MSRP. But you can also get a Survive on the second hand market as well. Thanks for all the input y’all.
Ok with that said - how do you get one? The website has nothing available, no info, no way to order one.
Have you visited the Carothers threads under ‘Hosted Makers’? You will find a super group of people who love knives, and many are willing to help out a new CPK person. Knives are listed for trade, sale, and info about sales and plans for future designs will be there. If you know what knife you want, you can post what you are wanting to find. Thanks for all the input y’all.

The CPK forum is filled with very generous and helpful members, ask for someone to proxy for you.I definitely won't give up, but they are very much a challenge that I don't see getting much easier for sure!
