Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

This falls under the category of "Caught in the Wild". I ordered a factory 2nd GSO 5.1 in 3V on 8/16 and I received it today (8/26). The knife was packaged very well and the quality of the knife appears to be top notch. I tested the sharpness and it is indeed very sharp. I'm not writing this to discount or dismiss other criticisms but to point out they appear to be trying to get their act together. Now if they will get the GSO 5.1 I ordered in Magnacut to me, this will further build my confidence in them. Below I have pictures of the knife and the invoice they sent for any out there who might be skeptical of my claim.

Survive/Guy: if you read this, please understand you must do much more of this to get the customer confidence you've lost back. My order is a step in the right direction but there has to be many more like this.
Glad you got yours.
Customers from 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 are still waiting for their knives.

Survive! is 1/3rd of their way though 2022's sales. Getting yours in 10 days was worth the effort since you're immediately shilling for them. How does delivering 1 knife as others wait years any sign of "Getting their act together"?

Same Ponzi scheme as last year, the year before etc..............

Did you happen to miss the post directly above yours?

Survive has definite back log issues, but Guy at least will not ship a blemished/second without acknowledging it and giving a discount.
Every blemished knife that they worked on is an older knife that they should have been shipping out. Also backlog "issues" doesn't exactly capture the actual magnitude of the problem.

Um, no. This is part of the con. They sell "2nds", and other knives for whatever reason, when they need an influx of cash, despite long over due prepaid orders still going unfilled. They blame the ability to sell "2nds" while others wait on someone else's error in the manufacturing process. In fact, they were caught and admitted to preselling "2nds" before they were even in hand. That practice got called out when even the "2nds" were years late and they had to admit they didn't even have those in house before selling them.

Doing "2nds" like you bought helps pay the bills since the money they took in to build the "1sts" is long gone and it also props up the ponzi scheme con, since folks like you will talk about how they are getting orders out. This is literally text book con-artistry. They have been doing this exact thing for a decade.

you can only get "factory second" because they are all that exsist. all other preordes will probably never be built anyway. so If you want S! knife, buy "factory second" dont do preordes s%$t.
that is how I got my GSO8 (few days after payment, LOL).

These are the "Factory Seconds" that had no visible errors or blemishes. They're just a sleazy way to get around the normal order process and prepaid queue.

In any Ponzi Scheme people ask- How was it able to continue- See the post above for the reason they're able to continue.

As previously noted- Don't expect any warranty service on your new gem.

Not to mention that it doesn't take a mathematician to realize that they'll never catch up on their 2020-2022 orders. They haven't touched them in almost a year.

I dont expect waranty anyway since I am from Bosnia (Europe), it would cost me 200-300 USD shipping to send the kinfe back... I dont expect waranty with any knife for that matters. I take care of knives, and if it fails, well, sucks to be me, right.

Against all odds, an August 2023 update. Now that we know that Survive! counts refunded orders as "Complete", we can't tell how much progress they actually make on older orders. They haven't posted an update in since April 2023. Lots of things apparently happened which delayed their production, but I'll let the numbers speak for them. 4 months!!!

They also decided to remove overall progress from the Production schedule. I have no idea why they would want to do that.

They included progress on new orders in 2023.

2015: 0.0% in 4 months
2016: 0.1% in 4 months
2017: 0.0% in 4 months
2018: Complete
2019: 2.6% in 4 months
2020: 0.3% in 4 months
2021: 1.1% in 4 months
2022: 2.4% in 4 months
2023: ???

Without quantities, it is hard to guess. BUT, let's say on average they sold 750 knives per year for those 8 years. That is 6,000 knives. The would have delivered 4,960. With 1,040 outstanding. Based on the numbers above, they would have delivered 72 of 1,040 in the past 4 months. Less than one knife per business day. That's a big shop to be pumping out 1 knife a day.

Forgive me if my math is way off.

That assumes that each completed order was a knife made and delivered.

Survive has already stated that they count refunds as completed orders.

Hey! Those refunds take just as much work as a knife. Guy makes sure that each refund is perfect; it can't leave till it meets all the company standards.

"We can't give you a full refund because it's simply not up to our standards. What we can do is give you a 2nd Refund for 80% of the original price"

Exactly how their scheme works, and all just part of the con to keep the cash flow going.

An essential rule of leadership is taking responsibility - even if it's not your fault. The evaluation process to discover what went wrong is how to get er done.

They must have created a strong brand to overcome the negativity pushing up from the abundance of unhappy customers.

It helps that they keep their presence almost exclusively to places where they can control the narrative.

Example. They are not banned here and can post right now, just as they could have the last 5 years since their sub was closed, but they don't. Eaiser to ignore than face the fire we would hold them to.

After some thought, I decided I had to address this more directly.

To be blunt, the bolded quote is BS. One customer getting an order they placed about a year ago while customers from 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 are still waiting for their knives is NOT evidece that S!K appears to be getting their act together. It is actually eveidece that Guy / Ellie / S!K are continuing to do the same things they have done for over a decade. Same sh*t, different year. It goes on and on and on...
