Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

Are any of you knife makers or related to knife makers who might be competitors to, or former business associates of SK!? In full transparency, you should disclose that. With all of the much deserved criticism of SK!, I think that piece of information is vital to help the reader better understand the narrative.
….. knowing a little around the crowd here I do not believe that any of the regulars posters are either direct competition to Perish! Knives, the only associate he acknowledges really was “Millet” and I don’t see anyone from there posting. Any of the smaller/custom makers here are either not hurt by Sly Guy nor are they damaging his business. I don’t think there is a negative conflict of interest to post. It seems now that Sly Guy has gone full ape crazy crapping in his hand and throwing it at the crowd. That he needs to solicit pre-orders in order to stay afloat and then maybe deliver knives ordered years ago tells you much about the state of play. He does not even hide this now. He has sledged Magnacut steel as hard as he can (the right or wrong of this remains open to interpretation) and is now openly trying to get people to buy the K890 (I think it is) on pre-order paid up front.

Part of me wonders if all these videos regarding steel issues are simply showing off the typical slag that other makers would just discard and then making a big hullabaloo about it so they can continue justifying their endless delays. Every production maker out there (even the best of them) has blades that go in the scrap heap after a grinding run, a heat treat run, etc. You know what they don't do? They don't dazzle us with word salads and vid bomb us in an attempt to obfuscate from the actual problem - which is essentially them living like subpar influencers who moonlight as part-time manufacturers with no business acumen and zero self awareness.

Lol, wut?

Even if we were, not hard to compete with a company that can't deliver product.

Remember...

Bingo.

There are 445 knives listed on BladeHQ that are made from Magnacut. Peters’ Heat Treating claims to have processed over 64,000 blades of Magnacut for over 100 different customers. I don't see others complaining about Magnacut. Guy has been making excuses since 2013. S!K still cannot provide accurate lead times, reliable answer emails or provide refunds. Draw your own conclusions.

I am loving the poorly thought out 'memo' sharing.

In the Cruforge video he mentions he hammer peens all blades and that is easy and no issue - contradicted his more recent Magnacut bemoaning!

He also discloses that he sat on the CFV for a long time.

Here he is pushing CruforgeV on Jan 31, 2022...the video he just posted about the CruforgeV being unusable is dated Feb 9, 2022.

So in 9 days he went from l, "it's amazing buy it"...to "I can't use it and I'm eating 18 sheets".

Odd

Over the last 10 days guy has released 22 videos with over 5:45 (that is 5 HOURS and 45 minutes) of content. Most of that is Guy trying blame the steel (and other things) for why they have outstanding orders from 2015 and every year since.

With editing and uploading he's looking at 8 hours ... Not to mention he is spending hours scrubbing comments.

Surprise, it's the exact amount of time that he stated in his own words is needed to finish the GSO 12s.

He really threw Peter's HT under the bus today.

yup. he is going "scorched earth" on a lot of respected players in the knife industry.

Again...

With all the blame he has placed on Peter's, I am surprised that they have not "fired" S!K yet. He is really throwing them under the bus. Has Peter's commented on this publicly? What about Niagara? I cannot imagine that any supplier would want to be associated with S!Ks circus.

He just posted another video. That is 3 so far today.
Wow that is probably more than the number of knives they shipped. I watched a couple of the steel complaint videos and this is just more of the same blaming everyone else.

Anecdotally, that is the quietest machine shop I have ever heard.

Okay, we know why survive has not been shipping knives recently. They are making videos and editing comments. That does take a lot of time. So what about the previous 8 years?

What ridiculous nonsense.

I keep coming back here to be floored by the new lows S!K can achieve. It’s absolutely stunning. If being a colossal disappointment was an Olympic sport, he’d take gold every time. It’s the only thing he can reliably deliver.

The balls on this guy to throw everyone under the bus… he means to tell us that no one in the world can deliver what he promises.

How much “bad luck” and “this is totally not our fault” can happen to one company in the past 10 years. This is willful and deliberate unethical behavior that I believe is criminal in nature. This Guy is gonna need way more hands to point all these fingers.

I think he knows the jig is up, he’s simply covering himself for the inevitable fallout when they close the door on the entire scheme.

I don't know, they are pretty invested in this decade long con. To me it feels like their biggest excuse making fit yet, all to drive more sales with a sympathy plea.

"We have been screwed by all the big bad suppliers and everyone is against us! All because we have such high standards! Place an order for our most best product yet and stick it to the man while supporting the small time good guys!"

It is almost classic if you think about it. The problem is, it reeks of desperation and it burns nearly every bridge in the industry. Risky move but it might be their only option.
