Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

Per yesterdays video the backlog is just about done. I've also heard that before so I'm curious to see how this all plays out.
Since 2014, Guy and Ellie have consistently been "just about" ready to make big changes that will resolve all their problems and make everybody happy... It has not happened yet. There are still outstanding orders from 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and this year.

The problem is not the steel, the location, sick relatives, PayPal, the fire, the business partners, complications with the move, suppliers or whatever excuse they are currently peddling. The problem is Guy and Ellie. Always has been, always will be.

Edit to add:
just got an email from S!K. The are ONCE AGAIN selling factory seconds that are "built and are just waiting for their final sharpening step. Orders will ship within 10 business days." Guy continues to neglect outstanding orders from 2015 to 2023...

Oh I know, I'm waiting for a knife too. I guess I have a slightly different take on them than most on here. I don't think this is some get rich scam. I think they're barely hanging on, not getting rich. Guy has stated several times he never wanted to be knife company. I'll take him at his word, cause no one in the world would think this is a good business model. I think they simple got in over their heads, over promised, then when the first thing went wrong it turned into one thing after another.

It's mind blowing how they couldn't get the really old orders out the door, and frustrating to say the least when you see newer ones getting finished. If Survive survives I hope they make some changes. I do like their knives but no more pre orders for me.

The problem is if they truly simply got in over their head they could be more honest about it and people could forgive them but they continue to screw over pre-order "customers"(probably should call them lenders) while only ever producing 2nds. I agree it isn't a get rich quick scheme or more accurately a poor scheme to use to fleece people as it will be slow with minimal returns. I do not believe they are an honest business as we are continually fed the same excuses and lies w/ no change in results. I had been willing to give the the benefit of the doubt however they have shown no changes or improvements and continue to make promises while not delivering on any of them.

"Guy has stated several times he never wanted to be knife company." Really!?!? That makes no sense what so ever...

I'm sure his backlog will be completed any day now. You can still see it on the Survive website in the first production progress posted January 2022.

- The percentages listed in this table represent how many orders have been fulfilled from each year and how much progress has been made since last June.
- You can see from the table that nearly all orders have been fulfilled.
- Order fulfillment for 2015-2019 will be at 100% in the next few months, as the big knives and the GSO-5.1 runs are completed.

That's not counting the numerous videos where the old orders were just about out the door.

It is always going to happen "soon" or in a "few months."

5 of the 6 comments on the last Facebook post are from disgruntled customers that cannot get them to respond to emails or get a refund. That does not count all the posts that they have deleted.

Yep, it was in some of his videos he posted a couple weeks ago. I think he was trying to say he never set out to become a big knife company, and it just make as much profit as possible. My impression is that he likes the knife making aspect of it and not the business end. That's ok, but you need someone there that's looking at the bottom line, and has a plan.

I guess we fall for great designs, perfect fit and finish in every way, great materials used. But their business plan is junk and shady, that is for sure.
I call BS on that when the only product to make it to customer's hands are factory seconds.

Hard to buy a knife knowing if something were to go wrong, you are never getting it fixed or replaced...if you did get in touch, how long would you wait for replacement? Years?

People are drawn in by the low price and that's how he gets you. Like a spider to his web of lies.

For me here in Bosnia (Europe) I cant return any knife for that matters. Waranty means nothing to me. Only shipping to USA would cost me 200USD and customs inspections fees... Maybe for you falks in USA waranty means something, for me, I dont count on it. As for factory seconds, it is only the name, knives are flawles. But dont get me wrong, I also warn people: do not pay preorder, you will probably never get it. Buy only what is instock, pay with paypal, if not sent within 10 days, ask money back (from paypal, you will not get an answer from SK, LOL). Thats how I got 3 SK knives so far. If I from other part of the world can figure it out, than it shouldnt be a problem for you. Dont understand why you pepople that wait for knives for years dont go to their door and ask for a knife in person.

2 days ago, video: "gso 4s are ready to ship".
today, email: "oh those gso 4s are not up to our standards, we'll sell them as seconds".
🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Well that explains how they sell them so cheap - you got two, maybe more people paying for the same knife, but only one of them is actually getting it. There’s at least one poor slob paying full price up front for a pre-order, and it would not surprise me in the least if they’re taking double or triple orders, for knives they never had any intention of delivering, at least not as fresh from the factory. Then somebody buys it as a factory second. And that’s how they get off counting refunds as fulfilled orders - the knives were actually sold, just not to the poor guy that paid for it first. What a fucking racket.
