I don't see anyone here saying don't buy SK go buy and resell Spyderco sprints. So this comparison is irrelevant it is just the simple and poor attempt to justify ones own bad actions by saying someone else is doing "worse" and your example of "worse" here is subjective. Could spend 10 more pages arguing the finer details of these two to determine what all is worse about one or the other and still not have a general consensus on it.
 
Consider the tale of Matt Burkett:

Matt Burkett is a former competitive shooter with numerous awards and championships. I purchased his instructional DVDs back in the day which were really good on how to shoot more effectively in the sport in which we competed. I had not heard about him in some time so I decided to consult Uncle Google. Uncle Google revealed Matt was sentenced to prison for fraud. His crime? He took money from people to make custom pistols and he never delivered them. His new YT short has a flyover shot of a row of finished knives....ALL 2nds hahah.

Update: newest video he talks about finishing the GSO10 and GSO12...the ones he said 3 videos ago only.needed 8 hours to finish...well, we are waiting.

Instead of completing years old orders, he grinding new K890 blades. Clearly trying to get knives out on time to NEW customers And change the narrative.

I don't know why this irks me the way.8t does. I got a refund but still check in weekly to see the mess.

Another one here. I ordered a knife from them a nearly a couple of years ago now because they claimed they were turning things around. I still have not received my order, the “production schedule” never changes on what I ordered (always 4-6 months to delivery), no one responds meaningfully to requests for updates (if at all), and now that I’ve told them to refund me: no response.

I’ve reported to the BBB and am going to see what other recourse options remain. PayPal denied my initial claim because the transaction is older than 180 days…thanks a lot PayPal.

I’ll try my credit card company next to see if they can do anything. If that doesn’t pan out, I might initiate legal proceedings in their state because now it’s the principle of the matter with this criminal behavior.

I keep hoping for a shipping notification. Year after year...I mean it's almost done. Fingers crossed for 2024.

A BBB complaint is useless
You may want to file a complaint to the Attorney General’s office in his State of business

I got in just in time with PayPal to get a refund (thanks to this forum).

After the refund I also had a hit of a whinge to them about their ongoing support of Survive when they know them to have issues. I also noted Guy's comments (as ever dubious veracity) that they were holding money. I'm sure noone will be surprised that they didn't reply! I would escalate the claim on this basis in your shoes... nothing ventured!

Ordered "in stock" factory second GSO 4 15 days ago. They said will be sent in 15 work days. Will wait until december 21st, and if not sent, ask paypal for refund. Just to let people know, I post when I get the knife, and when I dont also, try to be objective. It is now 50:50 for me. 3 knives I got so far (in stock purchase), and 2 (+1 probably this) refunds. :D

Do you not get tired of boasting that you support a crappy company and buying seconds? It would seem that you would just keep it to yourself if you had any self worth. Many people have been screwed over by Guy and to have you gloating that you think it is great to buy from him is just shitty imo.

Yeah, this is the problem. Their promised delivery timelines are always right at PayPal limit (i.e. 6 months), so if you give them the benefit of the doubt and be patient, you’ve lost the easiest option for recovering your payment.

I’ve filed a complaint with the AG in PA just as Tombstone said. We’ll see what comes of it.

Thanks for supporting a company of scammers. It's because of people like you that they "Survive!", and continue to operate, scamming more people into paying their bills.
 
My understanding is there is a current PA Attorney General investigation ongoing into Survive!, initiated by a pre-sale customer getting the standard impediments to refund. They have this thread in their "possession".

You sir are part of the problem.

To anyone reading this thinking of taking the risk like the guy above, don't. Not only are you taking a risk, even in the event you get a knife, you are supporting a criminal organization. These people are con-artist, successfully running a scam for a decade. You might as well go give your money to a bum begging on the street corner to buy booze.

Don't give your money to con-artists.

There are way too many good makers and manufacturers that earn, and thus, deserve your support. No need to buy from grifter scum.
