Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

Probably best to leave it at that if there is nothing which would further this discussion. Feel free to PM the info to me and I'll have a look.
If Carl feels otherwise, I'll defer, as he has been involved with this matter than I have.
The reason I asked about his arrest, and possible status as a convicted felon, is the potential irony. A lot of felons are restricted from carrying or possessing knives, aren't they?

The whole heisted guns and midnight run to Mexico was unpacked openly in the Perish! Forum before it was shuttered. Elle explained that Guy was young and stupid at the time and had grown and matured since that unfortunate event.

Honestly, I don't know. It never came up in my cases...and that would be a matter for parole / probation, as opposed to those of us who arrested and brought folks to trial. We didn't really get involved involved after they were released from custody.

On the federal side, possession of a knife was never something added to the charge sheet in the arrests I made.

I feel like after the list has things like "conspiracy to commit murder" and "possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute", "carrying a knife" probably wasn't high on the list of concerns. 🤣

I think Architect in 1095 and 3V are done by Tops and Magnacut and S35VN are made by White River. 1095 is heat treated by Tops and 3V, MC and S35VN are heat treated by Peters.

Also, Guys last post on the forums, dated March 6th 2017... no surprise it was a reply to an unhappy customer/member wanting to know when their knife was going to ship.

"Hey Ronnie, please excuse my brevity. I'm pretty tired and need to get up early tomorrow for work but I'll try to address your concerns. Firstly, your knife is done and sitting in a box. It should be in the mail tomorrow, it was just too late to get it in the mail on Friday.

Ok, let me work my way down the line. To address the production schedule "order", those are bullet points of things we're currently working on in the shop but they aren't necessarily being done strictly in the order listed.

I try to share photos and videos on Instagram to give a basic idea of the volume of knives we produce. Beyond that though I'm not really inclined to discuss my production numbers in an online forum. You can call that evasive or whatever else you like but I don't see anyone but large, publicly held companies disclosing their numbers.

The "breakthrough" has to do with my post from several weeks ago, regarding handle material warping/twisting. Honestly, I'll just let package tracking numbers in the coming days, weeks and months be my reply to that. For the weekly orders we'll be caught up within this month. You can quote me on that. You're also about to see huge numbers of preorders heading out.

It is true that we don't do our heavy machining in house. Whether they publicly disclose it or not, most small to medium sized companies don't. That doesn't mean that all we do here is assemble and sharpen our knives. I fine tune edge thickness and panel heights after production machining. I also repair any handling damage or machining/grinding inconsistencies that happen to the annealed blades. The people I work with do their best but stuff happens. I surface finish all of the blades, which are done one by one. Dan Keffeler can tell you, it isn't a short cut, mass finishing technique. For the best results possible we do all of our own engraving. We do any hand fitting necessary to ensure good fit and finish between the blade and handles, while still maintaining a level of consistency that allows reliable fitment in any of our factory kydex sheaths. We do our handle micro-texturing in house as well. And finally, as you stated, we sharpen our knives.

I apologize that you feel lied to or misled. That wasn't anyone's intention and it certainly wasn't done maliciously. Ellie and Jordyn were giving estimates based on the best information they had at the time. Until very recently, only knowing that the knives were needing a ton of seemingly random hand fitting adjustments, things were much, MUCH slower than I would have liked. Now that the issues have been identified, I've implemented a solution for moving forward."

Wow. That post from 2017 speaks volumes.

Ellie's last post on the forums dated August 7th 2018... however her "last seen" date is June 26th 2020.

"As I've mentioned before, we answer every email and every phone call from folks who contact us. That is the best way to get information about your specific order. When I try to address issues in threads like this there is never going to be a "right" answer other than "everything is shipped." Since I can't wish knives into existence, it does take time to make them. We know we are behind. You all know we are behind. It took some time to get things lined up and to get settled in down in Meridian, but if you look on our subforum, instagram, or happen to be part of the SK group on facebook, or have read the newsletter, you can see that people have been getting their knives. Our backlog had been on the decline since I started tracking it every week, but with the increase in output lately it is definitely speeding up that decline. Having an S!K subforum or not doesn't change our plan to keep delivering orders as quickly as possible.

I will still be checking in to the forums and am happy to interact with our customers here. However, I have no interest in being a whipping post for the many folks who are just looking to poke the hornet's nest, which is what a lot of this thread is."

Literally the same bullshit.

In all seriousness, who can take Guy seriously anymore?
Everything he offers is the next best thing, which quickly gets replaced by the next best thing when the last best thing is no longer convenient.

... and no one has stopped to acknowledge that a 2015 GSO 12 made out of pot metal would be the best 2015 GSO 12 ever produced.
(Because there aren't any!)
Ok, give Guy credit for concocting a new excuse - trade tarfiffs based on blade thickness.

Total bunch of spew as usual, but at least it is entertaining.

My guess is that they have structured the company to be able to place it into bankruptcy, walk away and bear none of the loss.

I can't help thinking that the current contentious situation with suppliers and vendors is all about setting up a credible defence against those who may try and bring criminal charges.

These are obviously very competent grifters who will continue the con until the last cent has been rung out of it.
I think we are all underestimating them.
We tend to think that Survive has been a dismal failure, but if generation of income with as little work or risk is the metric, they are a huge success.

You have to think that’s part of the angle with all his YouTube posting. I also tend to think it may act as a deterrent for any prosecutor that would have to consider wading through the hundreds hours of discovery listening to such a whiny bi_tch claim victim over and over.

Also, his shop reminds of the fake grocery stores they have North Korea for just the photo ops and tourist stops

That is exactly what I was thinking and why I am trying to get my money back before the bankruptcy hits. They are acting like they will consider doing a refund, but just stringing along until it doesn't matter anymore.

He is stupid enough to believe that, but he has the AG's of three states plus big brother currently interested in him. They will get scooped up at some point, It will be fun to watch his brain break when his previous partner in crime turns on him to protect herself. Bankruptcy doesn't protect you when filed to try and escape defrauding thousands of people.

I love dumpster fires- sure, they smell, but they provide light, warmth and entertainment.
