Good choice.I have been looking for this steel since 2012, thats 12 years
According to someone on this forum: custom rolling for this material with the minimum quantity is beyond 50k USD without Tax. Obviously thats beyond reach for most of the Custom Makers
But for K490 I only had to wait 10 years until Lionsteel used it in 2022.
So maybe somewhere in the future...
The thing is it's time for me to stop collecting (almost 3 decades) and it would have been nice to end with a knife in K890.
But I'm not going to gamble 300$
Take a look at his production log. It could be another 12 years before you get the knife.I have been looking for this steel since 2012, thats 12 years![]()
You MIGHT get your knife in the promised two weeks. There is a MUCH greater probability that the wait will be A LOT longer. You might never get it.I have been looking for this steel since 2012, thats 12 years

PayPal still gets money either way. They get 3% during the transaction and if it needs to be refunded to the customer the seller doesn’t get that 3% back. So why should PayPal care? But out of curiosity has anybody experience with the refund policy of paypal?
From what I read you have to file a dispute and within 20 days you have to escalate the dispute into a claim.
I also read paypal says most claims are investigated in less than 14 days. However, it can take 30 days or more to decide.
If survive doesn't deliver why is paypal still facilitating this company?

I'm wondering what model you would even attempt to order. It seems he is only making the EDC-4. And he stated that he can't make GSO 5.1 in K890 because he is unwilling to get the steel in larger sheets that are required for a bigger knife because of the high tariffs. The only chance of getting anything is if it is "in stock".I have been looking for this steel since 2012, thats 12 years

The problem is that S!K saying "in stock" does not always mean IN STOCK. There are a lot of people that purchased knives that S!K claimed were in stock that have been waiting year for delivery.I'm wondering what model you would even attempt to order. That's why I put "in stock" in quotes. It doesn't mean you will get it or it is in stock. But, the seconds and such that were "in stock" did seem to get shipped although some seemed to take weeks, so you might have a chance. A pre-order.... forget it.The problem is that S!K saying "in stock" does not always mean IN STOCK. BTW, what happened to Guy's daily video posts?
BTW, what happened to Guy's daily video posts?
But Guy is "upgrading" the steel for free..barring any voids, impurities, shipping issues, shop fires, flooding, equipment breakdowns, Tyler's hangovers, computer glitches, gremlins, gypsy curses, slenderman appearances, video shop tours, etc.You think you’re ordering a knife in K890, but you’re actually ordering the idea of a knife in K890. At worst, it will remain an idea. At best you’ll probably get a knife 10 years from now made of some other steel you didn’t order.
