Tank Like Folders?

they might be tougher and also 3 times as much. Did you try looking into MOD CQD MARK 1

Yea, I mentioned that above.....the MOD CQD Mark 1 is more than a tank....its a freakin BATTLESHIP......its got a glassbreaker, seatbelt cutter, and its blade is thick enough that I think it would most definitely be able to handle some light prying....alas, the MOD CQD Mark 1 has been discontinued....thank goodness I got two of them....sad thing is, they discontinued the MOD CQD Mark 1 for the Blackhawk CQD Mark 1 Type E......no longer has an aluminum handle, or 154CM blade....now its got a AUS-8A blade, and a"Precision molded, reinforced nylon" handle......I'm saddened about this....but I ordered a Type E, and it should be here thursday....so I'll review it....but I'm sure it'll be nowhere near the quality of the MOD CQD Mark 1......BUT, I can use the Mark 1 Type E as a beater and abuser....beings I only paid $69 shipped. :D

I think If Price Isn't an Issue. Strider AR/GB are Great, as Are Strider SMFs.(I am Almost Positive that they Issue or Give U.S. Marines a Version of the SMF, So it has to be Tough) Better then Trident Knives In My Humble opinion, because They Have G10, and a Way better grip. Even though the Titanuim on the TRIDENT Might be Carved, it will still slip and also be really cold in the winter. Striders G10 With Ti Frame lock On SMF is the most "Tank" Like Knife I have ever Owned(Or Maybe the AR too, a little nicer because all G10 Handle with HUGE liner lock, enough to be frame lock)

BUT, The First Post under you origional Post has the Spyderco Manix, and Chinook, and also The Benchmade Rukus. Both are "Tanks" too, and Extremely Nice. You Could get 2 of each, or all 3. Rukus, Manix and chinook for the Price of a Strider or a Trident, and they are of the same Quality and toughness in my opinion.

He's already got a Manix. He's looking for overbuilt bricks. :D

Oh Sory Didn't see that. He can get 2 Rukuses, Or 1 Strider AR or SMF. In My Opinion the Strider is better then the trident. All Titanium handles get Very cold In the winter, and are slippery when wet. G10 actually is More Grippy when wet in my experience. I have a Crusader Forge Folder right now. I Never carry it. I Prefer either my Strider AR or My Strider SMF, Simply Because of the G10. Both Companies have Equal quality Steel. Same thickness ( Think) almost the same blade shape for the spear point bersions. The Trident just has Poor Grip in Bad condition from personal Experience. Being that it's all titanium. Even when Carved. It Definatlly is Very Very Good Looking, But thats where it ends for me. Try Cleaning 12 catfish with an all Titanium handled knife then try with a G10 handled knife and see what I'm Talking about.

Yes the Titanium is Very Pretty, especially when carved. But it's almost Usless is Slippery or Cold Conditions.

Find a CQC-12 Ti.

I think Strider put out a limited run all Ti?

Extreme Ratio...

Look at Tad, they have some limited runs from custom makers that might fit the bill...

Enjoy.

Money No Issue. Strider AR Or Strider SMF all the way. Money Issue, There are Millions to choose from for cheaper that you can get multiples of.

A Nother "Tank" like Knife I Own is the benchmade Presidio Folder. Even though it's all Steel handle. it so aggressivly textured that it doesn't matter. and then add axis lock and cheap price to that. get one of those and a Rukus and you should be good with tough"Tank" folders for a long long time.
Or(My Opinion either the Strider AR or Strider SMF)

I Read Very Good thing about Rick Hinderer. But I never touched one of his knives. You Migh try that too. He's a Fireman that wanted the toughest knife so he made it himself. How Much tougher can it get then that?

Oh Yes, The Extrema ratio. From My Home country. Very very "Tank" but all Steel Handle is Cold And Slippery when wet again.

On the lowball side, there is always the Buck 560XLT - a 110 with Ti handles. Yeah, only .120" 420HC blade and .165" Ti handles - and out of production for a few years. Still, a clunky 110 is a decent knife - and has a 3.5" blade. I got mine several years ago NIB fot $30 shipped - run a bit more now... like 3X-5X as much. Nice and strong lockback. Still - pretty reasonable for a liter 'tank'. Remember - the smaller Sherman bested the behometh Tiger II in WW2... big difference, of course. And - we won the tank war because no one was bombing our factories - and we had ~30X as many Shermans as they ever made of all Tigers. Probably a bad comparison. I'll crawl back into my hole...

I'd go with a ZT300 series or an Extreme Ratio RAO. If you have the money, have one made by one of the many great knife makers that are out there.

YOU GUYS HAVEN'T READ THROUGH THE POST. HE WANTS SOMETHING MUCH BIGGER AND THICKER THAN STRIDERS, ZT'S et al. HE WANTS A FREEKIN FOLDER THE SIZE OF A BRIEFCASE!!!:p

The biggest I can find. A mere 34 pounds of folding knife.

LOL... I'd have to get some kind of sling to EDC that bad boy.

Nothing quite that size... but perhaps something the size of a small cordless phone LOL.

You don't want a CS Spartan. It's a tan.... Well, maybe you do. The new Tri-Ad lock makes it an incredible knife. Another one that's been described as a tank is the CRKT Thunderbolt 7133. And the Desert Cruiser is a tank. All of these are good strong knives.

If you have any enemies, take any one of these knives and put it in the person's carry-on luggage, then sit back and watch the fun.

Seriously, keep in mind that a knife doesn't have to be a tank to be strong. Modern technology is incredible and there are many light, powerful knives.

I would go with the RAO or Ontario XM1. I own both of these and cannot destroy either. The RAO is larger and I like the fixed blade sheath if you want to carry it open.
