For those Denizens familiar with the Shiro pages over at USN, that forum has just gone offline this morning in anticipation of their re-boot to a new hosting platform. They'll be starting from scratch with the new system so all the old, interesting and useful information will get wiped out. Fortunately, Shiro rep and mod Tom wrote that they've saved a bunch of threads to re-post once the new format is up and running, so much of that past resource (including Tom's input) will be available again.

I posted an old pic of today's Throwback Thursday over there just before everything went down and got a few new snaps a while ago to post here and over at the EDC thread. Here are the other two from that bunch.

Got in a grail today!
2015 CD Hati
This has #4 Custom Division printed on the inside and the titanium has internal milling. The blade is 3V and has a DLC finish. It runs on washers and has great action and fires out! It goes great with my CF Hation and F95NL

Nice grab! As nice as the newer Hati's are, there's always a lot of interest in the earlier models on washers. They have a certain hydraulic smoothness, very different than the BB models, kinda like the Sebenza of flippers. The extra fluted milling on the lockside of your knife is really sweet.

Not to rain on your parade, but I'm pretty sure all Hati's have internal milling on the lockside for additional weight savings beyond their lighter show sides. My beat up old orange G10 Hati on washers has it too. Still, congrats on your new acquisition! Enjoy!

I must be getting this wrong but I thought the HaTi SeaShell milling lines were more 'up & down' (like a seashell) and less 'side-to-side' sweeping like on your knife? That looks like a standard HaTi Custom Division to me?

yeah that's a 'wave' pattern hati. the seashells are contoured

I was curious about the model, Jhileman79 , so I did a little internet searching. As all the knives one can find are on the secondary market, there's a fair amount of conflicting info out there. There are several CD Hati's similar to yours with various pivot systems--washers, MRBS, and others--along with M390, 3V, and S90V steels, some with CF and others with G10 show sides, As TacTiFrameLock mentioned, the Seashell is a specific model and the fluted milling is diagonal and more "up and down" than longitudinal like yours. Far from being a "standard" CD version, though, yours is, as your seller indicated, a CD Hati Black. Google that to find one at EBossHoss. The one shown there is the 2nd one from Sergey's first Custom Division run and yours is the 4th. It's a really handsome and special knife that you have there. Again, enjoy!

So ChazzyP does that mean it was the 4th CD shiro made or just the 4th in the run of them? Do you know how to find out how many versions were made?
I saw the one in e boss and AZ Custom sold one in 2015.
