As much as I love R20, there's no way to ignore the hard truth -- NeOn is a tiny bit small for my palm, at least to open and close comfortably, it feels rather awkward to operate with right hand. Without a lanyard I risk to drop it on the ground sooner or later.
A symmetrical milling on the inside of the opposite scale would make disengaging the lock way easier -- it's a nice feature of Stellar.
Jsega51 , voilà
With the naked eye they look more or less as advertised: 85mm > 90mm > 95mm.
The difference between Stellar and F95Z seems smaller on the picture, but it might be due to lens distortion. Unfortunately I don't have anything with a proper grid on it (like a cutting mat) around.

The knife on top is a Laconico EZC. Note the rounded scale and lock. The NeOn below is the same width WITHOUT the bulge. Scale and lock side are both machined flat. The even swell of the Laconico makes all the difference in its superior ergonomics.B Bacchus thanks! That’s a great look at the increase in size from small to large. Likemarchone and you said, the Neon feels a bit thin and a little undersized while operating it, I found the same to be true with the small Sebenzas so I prefer the large there as well. I think I’d like the Stellar a lot and am happy they went that direction.
I just checked out a couple vids on the Stellar. Looks pretty fab. But I’d expect a cool grand when the production runs are available. Maybe more.
I guess a couple of you guys snagged a Custom Division Stellar already. I think the street price on a production version will be too rich for me. Damn nice knife though. Maybe the most useful of the line.
Nice. Got a lead on where I can nab one?Snagged a Stellar First Production that will be here Wednesday!
There is a Facebook group to buy sell and discuss Shirogorov Knives that a member here pointed me to. I joined the group, and bought the one she found for me. They’re fetching $a few hundred over MSRP used.Nice. Got a lead on where I can nab one?
Actually the price tag for the 1st production run was $1250, according toThere were Customs at the Blade Show but the Stellars shown here are the first production run of them so they got a little color and the S90V steel, I think they retailed for $1150? I’m thinking the next run will be in M390 and not anodized, still probably looking at $1k though.
The stellar I had in my shopping cart was $1250 msrp, so that is correct. I was going to pay $45 for overnight shipping so almost $1300.
I didn't have a screenshot of the change to overnight shipping. I just wanted to get the order done before it was too late, and it still sold out while PayPal was loading. But, I got lucky and for an extra $300 I picked up a mint first production and chalk up the extra expense to bad luck or lack of experience.DocJekl , sorry for my lame attempt at humor.
What I was trying to say -- for some reason the total amount of $1265 on the screenshot is $30 less than the sum of MSRP $1250 and shipping fee $45 -- I'd expect the total of $1295.May be it was updating too slowly after switching from default FedEx 2 Day option $15 to the Standard Overnight...
It’s a “stellar” knife indeed! I’m trying to break mine in so it’s smooth as can be. -KateMy LNIB Shirogorov Stellar First production is in the house!
It's a good size for me, and I'm just happy I was able to snag one of these after my first attempt was sold out from my shopping cart while waiting for my payment to go through on the release day. Sure, I paid a a few hundred dollars premium from a 3rd party seller, but it could have been worse.
Thanks J jogger112 for pointing me to the seller! I have all the Shiros that I had my sights on except the Aquatic, but I'm not sure I'm ready to pay for one yet.
