The Bears' Den--Shirogorov Showcase

A very confusing photo has been published in the maker's official Telegram channel with an extremely brief description -- "Soon".

Could it be the next elemental F3?.. 🤔 Does it look like "fire" or "air" to you?..

F3 Ignis incoming

Yes R1 makes the COA cards. Which makes me think, they must package them as well. Which takes us back to the “box” discussion from a few pages ago. Maybe R1 is going cheap on the packaging and not Shiro 🤷‍♂️
I haven't looked up what the boxes for European customers look like... hmmm
Three of my knives were purchased retail directly from the workshop in Russia and the boxes are the same.

I’m super curious what the blade steel will be for this next Elemental. I like the scale colors and the color of the anodized collars looks similar to the Terrus version. Speaking of that one, here’s a comparison pic of the two scale color schemes, thought folks here might enjoy it. Cheers all, looks like the drop will occur around 9 AM Pacific time tomorrow morning based on previous releases and today’s “very soon” comment from Shirogorov’s post on IG.

Sadly, it is M390 😭 I expected S90V at least... and was hoping for something unexpected like MagnaCut.

Really hope the 4th one will be worth keeping as a pair for Terrus, which is my favorite so far, all things considered.

What do you all think?

The Phoenix Wing TechnoCarbo looks good though:

P.S. Plain red paracord does not seem to blend well, IMHO there are a more appropriate patterns.

I'd put one of these, most likely the left one (Atwood Rope Fireball):

Maybe I'll just sleep in after all...

Here's a crazy idea -- to swap Terrus and Ignis carbon scales to get a proper combination of S90V and fire theme. 🙃

It might not lead to the same negative result as swapping blades which are not interchangeable.

If only F3 was less bulky and heavy... It is like 111 for me -- cool and pleasant to flip/handle sitting on a couch, but not very suitable for daily carry.

P.S. well, I was lucky enough to snatch one from the maker's website, they were gone in less than 2 minutes.

Not sure if I decide to keep that one, but it's worth to have a close look at.

Seems like each F3 Elemental is getting a different steel which is good for variety I guess, I certainly don’t mind getting a knife in M390, I’ve found it’s been pretty dang good on their knives. I wonder if they’ll continue the trend for the next two and what they’ll go with. My Soft Overkill is M398 so maybe that will make an appearance or possibly that steel was only specific to RJM’s specs and request and not something Shiro would use on a production run?

Aquatic - Vanax37

Terrus - S90V

Ignis - M390

M398 became pretty scarce for Russian knife makers recently, but it had been used for some production Shiro knives made for domestic shows:

111 Gen 5 Slim (2.8mm) in 2021
Hati Gen 3 Lava Flow (Fatcarbon) in 2022

Maybe for some other production models too, but these two came to my mind.

P.S. I have a bad feeling about the sequence Vanax > S90V > M390.

It seems like “from rare to common”.

We might end up with something trivial… like Cromax PM

Ahhh ok thanks, it will be interesting waiting for the next release then to see what they choose to go with. I’m also curious what color scheme they will go with for “air” since I’d think of blue skies but that may be too close to the Aquatic.

I quite prefer m390 to s90v but I hear what you’re saying. S90v is definitely less common and probably more desirable from a collectors standpoint.

I’ve never warmed up to the f3. but will still try to get one of the elemental ones because it’s one of the few that go up in value and also be good trading ammunition

I got up early to see if they dropped on Recon One and they didn't. I may be interested in yours if you part with it :)

Blue locktite has served me well for this sort of thing before. It can still be undone without crazy force but definitely keeps a scew from backing out. I was more concerned with best tool to use for tightening. I have not desire to do a disassemble unless it’s absolutely needed. Definitely not without proper tools

I like the electrical tape over the bit idea tho. Thanks for the link!
Purple Loctite 222 is what you really want here.
