It’s funny how all the models have their own sound and feel when it comes to the opening and closing action. I’ve noticed my F3 Ignis is super quiet while the blade is being deployed and has a very muted feeling in the lockup while my F95 Zero snaps while overcoming the detent and hits the blade stop like a sledge hammer. The F3 is also vastly different feeling than my RJM Soft Overkill even though they’re both liner locks but again, the Soft Overkill has a much snappier detent and lockup. I have an older F3 on the way so it will be interesting comparing it to the new one but at this point I’m with you, the F95/Hati actions are the best of the lineup from what I’ve owned.

(I remember the action of the Quantum Ursus being pretty nice too but the sharp corners of the frame and flipper tab were a major turnoff for my hand).

I will say the colors of the Aerum are not the best of bunch, that award goes to the Ignis in my mind! I figured the Aerum would be on the shinier side and t definitely is, the one thing I really like about it are the polished pivot collars and pocket clip.
 
I do like how they finished the hardware on this one too (not at all dark like the “very soon” pic)! I’m guessing the scales really pop in the sunlight too. Interesting how Shirogorov referred to this as the fourth in their “Forces of Nature” series, and not the “Elementals” series we’ve been referring to them as. R1 called the series “4 Forces of Nature”, not sure if that’s confirmation of this one being the last of the series. I picked up all 4 just to see if when I arrange them near each other, a magical vortex will open and the secret fifth one of the series will appear — only to those worthy and true of heart of course!

I do feel the red pigment on the surface of the RedTechnoCarbo, but they might have fixed it in the newer BlueTechnoCarbo, improving it both visually and tactilely; can't say for sure -- hopefully DocJekl DocJekl will be kind enough to comment, if he feels any difference between RTC and BTC.

I've sold my BTC pretty fast, since (1) the red one has been already customized and used and even dropped once on the ladder (surprisingly, no major damage, just a few ugly scuffs on the titanium edges), and (2) I hope to snatch a bronze/copper one (or whatever yellowish/brownish version they are going to make), or an updated Hati with newer blade design similar to F95 Gen 4.

Congratulations to those lucky enough to get their hands on all 4 F3's! 🙃

I'm waiting for my Aerum arrival to decide which one to keep as a safe queen -- either Earth or Air.

Could be a matter of sheer luck or personal preferences, but I have no complains about F3 action (speaking about Elemental set only). Out of the box Terrus had the best action of all Shiro knives bought this year (a dozen at least), no breaking in or cleaning or tuning required.

The model has some other drawbacks for me:
-- the handle is excessively thick for comfortable EDC carry, it could be offset by exceptional grip/ergonomics, but not in the city environment;
-- the blade is thicker (4mm) than a common production Shiro blade made in 2023 (3.3-3.5 for Stellar/F95/Hati or even less than 3mm for 111);
-- a liner-lock is less comfortable for me than a frame-lock;
-- the knife has more components than 111/F95/Hati/Stellar, too much hassle (for me) to take apart and reassemble properly.

Hence the intention to keep just 1 of 4.

Apparently I'm the only overnight FedEx'd Aerum that wasn't delivered today, even though they all went out with the same Fedex driver yesterday 🤬🥵

Nah, I'm too tired after my trip - vacations are supposed to be relaxing but I walked more in the past 2 weeks than in the past 2 months...

Well, at least you have some time to recuperate your full strength and stamina to properly enjoy and celebrate the set completion upon the Aerum's arrival 🙃

I'm also expecting mine today.

Hopefully, it was intentional and not utterly boring.

I had to use my own precious 15-days vacation this August to reverse the unhealthful trend of gaining ~1 kilo per month (~10 kg gained during the previous 11 months) -- lost 6 kg within the last 6 weeks. But it took some extensive walking and staircase climbing:

It's easy to fix (the lanyards length variation, I mean). 😜

But not the grind variations and hence the unequal blade choils. 😡 You're lucky -- the blades look very much alike.
 
I recently purchased an older F3 and was surprised to see an extra set of markings on the liners inside, anyone have information on what they mean? I know CRK uses a letter and the two digit year to classify when the scales were made but these don’t jive with a similar coding system.

I didn’t think of it like that so it could be a great explanation. I tried searching the internet for a bit but couldn’t find any discussions regarding Shiro knives and scale markings but either way, I think it’s neat to have one like this.

By the way, you and DocJekl DocJekl both have great looking complete sets of the Elemental knives!
